Tag axle saddles are subject to break loose from the axles at the welds due to concentrated stress

Defect summary

TAG AXLE SADDLES ARE SUBJECT TO BREAK LOOSE FROM THE AXLES AT THE WELDS DUE TO CONCENTRATED STRESS. CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: THIS COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE TRUCK.

Remedy

REINFORCE THE AXLE SADDLE AREA.
