NHTSA complaint 11600559On 8/4/23 driving across Louisiana when another driver motioned for me to pull over. Upon investigation found that had the rear passenger side tire was missing. All studs were sheared and the tire and wheel was gone and never found. Had to replace the hub and put spare onto trailer to complete trip home. Major safety issue...if the last wheel on the passenger side would have failed the unit would have flipped the trailer and pull vehicle with myself wife and (2) young kids in it. The vehicle has been inspected by dealer and reported to manufacturer (Forest River) and axel manufacturer (Lippert). It has been almost 2 weeks with no answer from them. No warning at all that the wheel had left the unit. NOTE: Posted on FB to see if anyone else has had this issue...there were several who had identical and close to the same incident.
