Forward facing multipurpose camera has failed triggering multiple warning lights. This occurred right after the last recall for the van was completed which replaced the rear camera.
NHTSA complaint 117682236 months after purchasing our 2019 Honda Odyssey we got warning that popped up about lane departure, collision and cruise control not being able to work properly. When we took it in we were told it was our front camera and it needed to be replaced and recalibrated. It would come to almost $3000 total. It has started to work for a couple of hours 3 times now. We bought this vehicle for it's safety features for our large family, not sure we will get another Odyssey after our issues with this one.
NHTSA complaint 11768205In April of 2025 I had my vehicle towed to O"Donnell Honda because my car was sputtering and inoperable after getting gas a few min prior. The ran codes and got back PO300 PO3054 and PO306 misfires and unknown to me there was an active warranty recall on the fuel injectors. At this time I was withing the warranty period. The dealership told me that I got bad gas and their was nothing wrong with my car. I have spent the last 16 months taking my car back and forth to the dealer trying to figure out what this intermitent problem was with my car. I have at least three visits to the dealer and multiple phone calls with honda over this time. In addition to emails. Most times the code would disappear before I could make it to the dealer. I have also spoken to honda corporate and they have never mentioned this warranty until yesterday I had the issue again and they said it was my fuel injectors and want me to pay $2000 to repair it despite this being a known issues since 4/2025 when my car was withing the warraty period. They said they had no obligation to fix it back in May because they could not recreate the problem but that is not true according to their 21-010 Defect service bulletin. It specifically states they were to replace the fuel injectors. I have documentation to prove all of this. I have spent month and put out additional money on a situation that thye dealership refused to replace a known, warranty-extended safety defect that was officially scanned and documented prior to the 150,000-mile expiration window
NHTSA complaint 11767796The front camera all of a sudden is malfunctioning - the following has been affected because of it: auto high beam, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, collision mitigation system, road departure mitigation
NHTSA complaint 11767779When I go from a dead stop, it 7/10 times has a long hesitation before going. Sometimes its up to 5 seconds of hesitation. I've almost been hit crossing oncoming traffic. I have mentioned it to the Honda mechanics who say they don't see it when testing. I'm always afraid it's going to stall. Also, sometimes when I let off of the gas it almost feels like a brake is being applied as I approach a stop. I've changed the transmission fluid and used gas additives to no avail. I see some models of odyssey had a recall for this but for some reason not mine.
NHTSA complaint 11767659At approximately 52,000 miles, my 2019 Honda Odyssey Elite developed multiple simultaneous warning messages indicating problems with the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Autio High Beam and Road Departure Mitigation system.. with Break Assist light on. The vehicle was taken to a Honda dealership, where the problem was reproduced and diagnosed as a failure of the front windshield-mounted multipurpose camera used by the Honda Sensing system. The dealer recommended replacement of the camera and quoted approximately $2,350 for the repair, including calibration. The failure disables several driver-assistance and collision-avoidance functions at the same time, including adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assistance, road departure mitigation, and collision mitigation braking. I am concerned that the simultaneous loss of these safety systems could increase the risk of a crash, particularly if a driver is relying on the systems when the failure occurs. There was no collision or known physical damage to the camera prior to the failure. The warning messages appeared on the instrument panel when the malfunction occurred. The dealer has confirmed the camera failure. The vehicle has not otherwise been inspected by police or insurance representatives. The failed component is currently still installed in the vehicle and should be available for inspection upon request unless it is replaced during repair. I am submitting this complaint because a safety-critical camera component failed at relatively low mileage and simultaneously disabled multiple Honda Sensing safety systems. Worth mentioning, the rear camera system was recalled and was replaced given that failure and this camera failing around the exact same time I fear that this camera failed due to a manufacturing problem. The dealer confirmed that my rear camera was effected by the recall.
NHTSA complaint 11767627The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH, the message "Air Bag System - SRS Problem" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the front passenger’s side air bag needed to be replaced. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 26V332000 (Air Bags) and 26V227000 (Air Bags); however, the VIN was not included in the recalls. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
NHTSA complaint 11767402My vehicle suddenly developed multiple warning messages at the same time, including: Brake System, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Auto High-Beam. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Honda dealership for diagnosis. The dealership determined that the front-view/multipurpose camera was short-circuiting/failing and needed to be replaced and calibrated. This concerns me as a potential safety defect because a failure of a single camera caused multiple Honda Sensing safety and driver-assistance systems to become unavailable simultaneously. I am concerned that the premature failure of the front-view camera may represent a recurring safety-related defect affecting other 2019 Honda Odyssey vehicles. A failure of this component can potentially leaving drivers without safety functions they may normally rely upon. Additionally, Honda Customer Relations told me that several customers had contacted Honda about the issue, and the dealership told me that it had replaced front cameras on numerous customers' vehicles for the same problem. I understand that Honda has issued a separate recall involving the rearview camera on certain 2019–2020 Odyssey vehicles. I understand that the rearview camera involved in that recall is different from the front-view camera that failed on my vehicle. I mention this only as additional context because both involve camera-related components on the same generation of Odyssey. I respectfully request that NHTSA review consumer complaints and other available information concerning front-view/multipurpose camera failure on 2019 Honda Odyssey vehicles to determine whether there is a safety-related defect trend.
NHTSA complaint 11767128I believe it is the WINDSHIELD MONOCULAR MULTIPURPOSE LKAS ACC CAMERA. This sensor has malfunctioned for the past two moths and I've tried everything to fix it short of replacing it, which is ridiculously expensive. This is such a common problem on this make/year of vehicle. My car only has 75,000 miles on it.
NHTSA complaint 11766954Safety Concern: Severe Transmission Lag and Hesitation on Honda 9-Speed Vehicles. The Honda 9-speed automatic transmission exhibits dangerous downshifting hesitation and delayed shifting while cruising at highway speeds. When attempting to pass another vehicle or accelerate quickly for extra power, the transmission frequently experiences a severe lag, causing a total lack of throttle response (a "no response" mode). This sudden loss of acceleration at highway speeds is highly alarming and significantly increases the risk of a rear-end or overtaking collision, creating an immediate safety hazard for the driver and other motorists.
NHTSA complaint 117669062019 Honda Odyssey VIN: [XXX] The same passenger-side door window on my 2019 Honda Odyssey has spontaneously shattered on two separate occasions. There was no known collision or impact that would explain the repeated failure. Because the same window has now shattered twice, I am concerned there may be an underlying issue involving the glass, door/window assembly, regulator, alignment, or stress being placed on the glass. This window is immediately beside the seating position normally occupied by my young daughter. Fortunately, she was not sitting in that position when either incident occurred. I am concerned about the potential for injury from shattered glass if another failure occurs while a child is sitting there or while the vehicle is being driven. The repeated failure of the same window makes me concerned that simply replacing the glass does not address the underlying cause. I am reporting this so NHTSA has a record of the repeated failure and can determine whether similar incidents have been reported involving 2019 Honda Odyssey vehicles or related models. Photographs and documentation of the failures are available. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
NHTSA complaint 11766623I am reporting a severe engine issue on my 2019 Honda Odyssey that matches the exact failure profile of NHTSA Recall 23V-751 and the ongoing investigation PE25008 / RQ24-013. While driving, the vehicle randomly began experiencing a loud, progressive metallic knocking and ticking noise from the engine, sometimes it was a squeal, the engine stalled while in motion and wouldn't drive anymore. This presents a severe safety hazard, as an unexpected engine stall or failure while driving increases the risk of a crash. My VIN currently shows as "excluded" from Recall 23V-751. However, given that this vehicle has the exact same 3.5L V6 engine and is exhibiting the textbook symptoms of premature connecting rod bearing wear and crankshaft-related failure, I request that the NHTSA review this case to expand the recall parameters to include my vehicle batch.
NHTSA complaint 11766355Starting around 70,000 miles the front multipurpose camera continues to fail causing various warnings, including: - Collision mitigation system problem - Adaptive cruise control problem - Lane keep assist problem - Road departure mitigation system problem - Auto high beam problem
NHTSA complaint 11766242when trying to accelerate from a stop or slow roll velocity (e.g. at a yield sign), there is a hesitation between the time I press on the accelerator and when the vehicle moves. This becomes a hazard because if there is a delay in acceleration, I could be hit by oncoming traffic. The fuel pump had been previously recalled because of an impeller issue. At that time, the same thing would happen. Hesitation in acceleration. After the fuel pump was replaced (done early 2025 on my vehicle), that symptom was better but in the last few months, it has returned and is increasing in frequency. It happened today as I was driving 9/22/2026 but it was not the first time. It has been ongoing for months now so I decided to finally report it. I feel that this is related to previous NHTSA recall campaign ID number 23V858000
NHTSA complaint 117661751. The tailgate of Honda Odyssey started opening and closing on its own. 2. There was water damage on the electronic tailgate control unit that short circuited it making it misbehave. 3. The unit started opening and closing on its own mid drive and caused a minor fender bender. 3. Honda dealership could not find any source of water intrusion.
NHTSA complaint 11766009While driving on the turnpike, we heard a loud explosion sound and our sunroof shattered. The weather was sunny and clear and there was no other vehicles near us at the time. There was nothing on the road ways either.
NHTSA complaint 11765913I own a 2019 Honda Odyssey EX with approximately 117,000 miles. While driving the vehicle from the roadway into a church parking lot, the driver's-side rear coil spring completely broke. There was no collision or accident involved. The failure occurred during normal driving as the vehicle entered the parking lot. The snap was very loud. I have never previously experienced a broken coil spring on a vehicle. The failure involved a major rear suspension component and occurred while the vehicle was in motion. A broken coil spring could potentially affect vehicle stability and ride height, damage other suspension components or the tire, or create a hazard if a portion of the broken spring were to become detached. I am reporting this because I am concerned that a rear coil spring would completely fracture during normal use at approximately 117,000 miles. I have since learned of other reported rear coil spring failures involving 2018–2019 Honda Odysseys, including reports of driver's-side and passenger-side rear springs breaking while the vehicles were being driven. I request that NHTSA document this failure and consider whether there is a broader safety issue involving the rear coil springs on this generation of Honda Odyssey. Vehicle: 2019 Honda Odyssey EX Mileage: Approximately 117,000 miles Component: Driver's-side rear coil spring Failure: Complete fracture/breakage while driving Accident or collision involved: No Date of failure: September 11,2026
NHTSA complaint 11765116My wife was driving our young daughters and the vehicle had multiple warning lights come on. then several messages stated transmission drive unavailable. then the vehicle stopped moving and stalled in a busy street. it would re-start but was idling at 3000rpm. however it would not move from where it died. it had to be towed to the Honda dealer. It was a very dangerous situation because it went from a check engine light to a dead vehicle in 30 seconds. very unsafe!
NHTSA complaint 11764506By August 1, 2026, the check-engine light was on in my 2019 Honda Odyssey. I reported that the light was steady and the van was running normally, with no noticeable drivability problems. On August 31, 2026, at 141,126 miles, an authorized Honda dealer recorded DTC P0430, performed an air/fuel test, documented that the fuel injectors failed, and recommended replacing them. The dealer noted that failed injectors can cause P0430. The injector-specific parts-and-labor estimate is $1,849.06. No injector repair or post-repair test is documented yet. There was no crash, fire, injury, fatality, or police report. Honda Service Bulletin 21-010 provides a 10-year/150,000-mile injector warranty extension for certain 2018-2019 Odysseys. For P0430, it directs an air/fuel test and injector replacement if the test fails. Honda says this vehicle's VIN is ineligible despite the dealer's matching diagnostic pathway and offered 50% goodwill. This bulletin is a warranty extension, not a recall. I ask NHTSA to examine whether the eligible VIN population adequately captures 2019 Odysseys with this documented failure pattern. The attached evidence summary identifies 27 public NHTSA complaints that report injector or matching-code concerns together with VIN-based coverage exclusion; those are owner allegations, not confirmed failure rates. Some other owners allege hesitation, power loss, or limp mode, but I have not experienced those symptoms. I am concerned that continued injector deterioration could create a future drivability or loss-of-power risk. Please compare Honda's production, warranty, goodwill, dealer-test, and failure-analysis data for included and excluded vehicles. The dealer findings and evidence summary are attached.
NHTSA complaint 11764453My name is [XXX], we bought a brand new 2019 Honda Odyssey Elite, we have had problems with this vehicle since day one. They have lied and covered up the issues with this vehicle starting with the infotainment center, transmission slippage, fuel pump and the front camera has been overheating giving us the message that it is overheating and all the lights come on. They have stalled us on these issues and now the extended warranty is up and we want something done about this. We have babied this vehicle the entire time since new and it seems like one problem after another, at this point we are very disappointed from the way we are being treated from Honda. The latest is the front sensor on the front mirror that pops up all the lights on the dash, no one seems to be able to duplicate the problem, now they are on all the time and conveniently the extra extended warranty we bought have since expired, there was a lot of recalls on this vehicle and no one ever seems to be able to send us the recall letters. We really thin the mirror sensor and the transmission are definitely safety issues especially when the mirror shuts all the safety off. The transmission shifts hard at times and we pray that Honda will step up to the plate and do the right thing and fix the other recall issues on this same vehicle as well. We have other Honda vehicles that we have not had any issues with, we just can't understand why we are being treated in this manner, we just want the vehicle fixed. NHTSA complaint 11764338Technical service bulletins and other notices the manufacturer sent to dealers. A bulletin is not a recall; the 60 most recent are listed.
