While driving my 2025 Hyundai Tucson hybrid in traffic, the car suddenly would not accelerate normally when I pressed the accelerator. I was frightened and concerned because I was in active traffic and could not make the car accelerate any faster. I turned on my hazard lights, cut the car completely off, and then restarted it. After restarting, driving returned to normal. The first time it happened, the problem went away after restarting. I thought that I may have done something wrong. The same problem happened again many weeks later. I called Oxmoor Hyundai to explain that I believed this was a safety issue. I had to wait more than 30 days for a service appointment. The dealership kept my car for approximately 18 days while trying to diagnose the problem. Ultimately, I was told that they were unable to reproduce the loss of acceleration problem without the cause being identified or repaired. I contacted Hyundai corporate customer care about the unresolved problem and was advised to schedule an appointment with a different Hyundai dealership for another evaluation. The second dealership had my car for an extended period (9/15 - 9/29), but was also unable to reproduce or identify the case. Hyundai customer care has been involved throughout this process and is aware that the problem is not fixed. They asked me to take the car to a different dealership for evaluation. I don't recall seeing a warning light or dashboard message before losing acceleration. The problem is intermittent. I am concerned that this could happen again, and the sudden inability to accelerate in traffic could put me or others at risk. I can provide the car for inspection on request.
NHTSA complaint 11768095I heard a loud bang from overhead when driving on the road in August 2026. There was no visible impact from road debris or any other object. Upon stopping and inspecting the vehicle, I found multiple stress cracks throughout the panoramic glass roof panel (part number 81620-N9000). The cracks radiate across the panel with no identifiable impact point, chip, or starburst. SAFETY RISK: The panel is cracked overhead of the front occupants. The bang was loud and startling while the vehicle was in motion, which is a distraction risk. If the panel fails completely, glass could fall onto occupants or exit the vehicle and strike following traffic. DEALER CONFIRMATION: Yes. Two Hyundai dealerships have inspected the panel and confirmed the cracking. Both declined warranty coverage and directed me to file a comprehensive insurance claim. Neither provided a documented impact point or a written technical explanation for the denial. MANUFACTURER INSPECTION: No inspection by Hyundai Motor America. I opened a case with Hyundai Consumer Affairs (case #43163493 and requested a Field Service Engineer inspection. As of 9/24/2026, I have received no response. No police or insurance inspection has occurred. WARNING SIGNS: UNKNOWN. I observed no prior cracks, chips, noises, or warning messages before the bang. The vehicle is a 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited with approximately 19000 miles
NHTSA complaint 11766810On 9/13/26, while driving, all the instrument warning lights came on and stayed on after the car was shut off and back on a few times. Running diagnostics on the car showed everything was working ok. On 9/14/26, The warning lights were off in the morning. On 9/15 while driving, making a left turn, the instrument panel went completely blank, with the exception of the radio part of the screen. My turn signal, speed, fuel, blind spot indicator, etc. nothing showed up. Video is available of the incident.
NHTSA complaint 11764309After denying that this problem existed, Hyundai issued a software update to "fix" the AEB issue. I had the software update done at Riverhead Hyundai on 7/20/26. On 7/27 and 7/28, the AEB system activated and stopped my vehicle. On 8/4, the system began to activate, but ended the activation before a complete stop. There was no issue with traffic from any direction on all 3 occasions. I contacted Hyundai, but they again stated that their technicians could not duplicate the issue. This was what they told me before the recall was announced or performed, and no Hyundai technician had possession of the vehicle to do a test after these most recent incidents.
NHTSA complaint 11764117Sunroof exploded on the freeway while i was driving I heard a very loud bang and thought it must be the car next to me. When I arrived home later- saw the hole in my roof.Next morning I took my car to the delearship and after assessment they agreed the sunroof exploded. They told me the car was not safe to drive and gave me a loaner. I have tried to upload images but they are too large for your portal.
NHTSA complaint 11763759All four factory Nexen tires on my brand new 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid have shown rapid and uneven wear between 5,000 and 11,000 miles. The vehicle feels unstable, with alignment-like behavior. A Nexen preferred dealer suggested a possible tire defect. Hyundai Consumer Affairs and the dealership have not coordinated a proper warranty inspection, and I was asked to pay $189.99 for diagnosis even though the issue was documented early under warranty. I am concerned this may be a safety-related defect affecting other vehicles.(my 1st request to Hyundai since march 2026 all emails and conversations documented)
NHTSA complaint 11762217The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V400000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the contact stated that the failure occurred. The contact stated that the instrument panel flickered and went blank and repeatedly turned on and off. No warning lights were illuminated. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,987.
NHTSA complaint 11761859The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 26V400000 (Electrical System) and 26V316000 (Forward Collision Avoidance); however, approximately 15 minutes after the software updates were completed, the lane keep assist failed intermittently, causing the vehicle to veer out of the intended lane. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was returned to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 9,419.
NHTSA complaint 11760317The parking cameras on this vehicle have been intermittently failing for almost a year, most frequently when reversing the vehicle, but also when parking in a garage (forward camera). This puts me and any cars and pedestrians around me at risk every time it fails when I am attempting to reverse out of a parking space. The car's rear window is not designed for maximum visibility of surroundings. I have taken the car to the dealer 3 times to repair this defect, including one visit in which they replaced the camera. The symptom of the defect is that a green screen appears where the camera image should be and says it's not working, when I put the car into reverse or pull into a parking space.
NHTSA complaint 11760303While driving, the infotainment screen (to the right of the driver) begins to flicker. Often if turns completely black and reboots. On at least one occasion, it did not come back on at all for the remainder of the trip. The flickering movement is extremely distracting. The loss of navigation is obviously a problem if you don't know where you are and were relying on it. It is dangerous, could result in injury or death, and should trigger a recall. Hyundai dealerships have NO IDEA how to fix it. They replaced the entire screen module, which did not make a bit of difference.
NHTSA complaint 11759441Cluster information panel failed after software update was already completed. Update completed at approximately 8500 miles, failure happened at just under 15,000 miles. Currently in the shop having entire cluster panel replaced.
NHTSA complaint 11759313The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH and attempting to accelerate, the lane assist suddenly steered the vehicle to the right while the road was curving to the left. The contact manually steered the vehicle to avoid a crash. The contact learned that the lane assist feature only activated while driving between 40 and 120 MPH; however, while accelerating and decelerating due to winding roads, the Lane Assist System failed to properly communicate and direct the vehicle, which the contact associated with the failure. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle had been previously reprogrammed by the manufacturer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 8,500.
NHTSA complaint 11757639Previously reported issues to dealership about issues with instrument cluster going black and had it brought in for recalled software updates. Received paperwork stating completion of Campaign 302 and 304 on July 18th, 2026. While driving on the interstate on August 13, 2026 I had the cruise control, lane assist, and steering assist active. The instrument cluster went completely black and at the same time I experienced unusual steering behavior which led to me going into the next lane and hitting another vehicle.
NHTSA complaint 11757283The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving 22 MPH and attempting to depress the brake pedal, the vehicle in front of the contact stopped suddenly, causing the vehicle to stop suddenly. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V316000 (FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE) by the owner, but the remedy failed to fix the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure had occurred twice. The contact stated that the recall remedy failed to alert the driver to a possible crash. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was 17,850.
NHTSA complaint 11756781The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the Forward Collision Avoidance system independently activated, and the vehicle came to a hard stop. The contact was pushed forward very hard. The contact stated that the event was frightening. The vehicle was driven to the nearest local dealer; however, the vehicle was not inspected. The vehicle was later towed to another dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact stated that the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V316000 (Forward Collision Avoidance); was completed July 12, 2026. The contact stated that the failure had occurred shortly after the recall repair was completed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 18,600.
NHTSA complaint 11756728I have a eye condition called Strabismus/ lazy eye that I've had for most of my life. I've learned to live with it quite well. According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, roughly 4% of the U.S. adult population has Strabismus.. My previous vehicle (Genesis G70) had the Lane Keep feature that I used all the time. Now when I drive my new 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybred on the highway with cruise control, I can't use "Lane Keep Assist" (on the steering wheel) because within a few seconds it will give WARNING-EYES ON THE ROAD, BOTH HANDS ON THE WHEEL then go into emergency stop while I am staring straight ahead and have both hands on the wheel. - - Also, if I am driving on a Interstate highway, the Lane Keep Assist comes on automatically as soon as I engage Cruise control, I have to turn off Lane Keep or within a few seconds, the emergency shutdown begins. I have to turn it off every time I re-engage Cruise control. The first time this happened I was driving in heavy traffic on I-20 outside of [XXX]. I had to maneuver thru 2 lanes of traffic before the vehicle completely stopped. I continued on without cruise control until I arrived home. After several tests it was decided that it was my eyes. I had the Hyundai service investigate but had no fix for the issue. The Lane Keep feature was always on in my 2019 Genesis G70 which was a nice feature and now with my new Tucson, I can't use it. I'm going backward with my safety features on vehicles. There must be some way to modify this to accommodate my condition and get back to the level of vehicle safety that I once had without trading down to a older vehicle. - - Hyundai case file XXX. All updates have been completed. - - STOP/CANCEL THE IN-CAB CAMERA MANDATE UNTIL ALL THE BUGS ARE FIXED - - INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
NHTSA complaint 11755123The car detects phantom blind spot alerts even after the camera update. It happens based on front and rear cameras. When the car falsely alerts it fully locks up the breaks and steering until the fault clears. It happened yesterday trying to pull out of a street side parking space. There were no oncoming cars, but the car fully alerted and locked up. It happened in rush hour traffic when trying to pull to the side for an emergency vehicle alerting and causing the car to fully lock up and delay moving aside for an emergency vehicle, and it happened trying to pull into a parking lot in a line of other vehicles also pulling into the lot (school pickup line). Every time it does this it fully alerts and locks up brakes and steering. There's no predicting when it will happen.
NHTSA complaint 11754849Immediately after a scheduled dealer appointment to repair recall 302 the display panel on my 2025 Tucson Hybrid became glitchy, it flashes,, turns to white static then goes completely black.
NHTSA complaint 11753413The entire information screen went black and the heads up display turned off while driving the car. The screen then intermittently flashed all warning lights as well as a "no service" message. The car continued to operate "normally".
NHTSA complaint 11753343I was driving on Hwy 41 in Lutz, Fl in middle lane (out of 3 lanes) at around 50 miles per hour, then suddenly a warning came up on my infotainment consule that noted that my driver assistance system was not functional. My car then slowed down to 20 mph and would not accelerate. The line of cars going fast behind me started to honk at me. I had to put on my hazards and slowly get into far right lane and eventually pull over. I then came to a stop and turned my engine off. I was able to get back on US Hwy 41 and the error did not happen again and I was able to get to work (albeit, 5 minutes late)
NHTSA complaint 11753099Technical service bulletins and other notices the manufacturer sent to dealers. A bulletin is not a recall.
