The power steering on my car stopped working entirely right after startup and would not return after multiple restarts. The dealership has replaced the steering torque sensor but the problem returned less than a month later. Without power steering, the car is not safe to drive.
NHTSA complaint 11756126I was driving the speed limit, not going fast, when suddenly the power steering went out, it is an EPS system. I pulled over, cycled the car on and off and it fixed the problem, for now at least. I have seen several other people have this same issue, it needs to be addressed by hyundai.
NHTSA complaint 11696907My power steering motor failed suddenly while driving. I was on the highway at the time. The resulting steering difficulty endangered myself and everyone else on the roadway. The power steering warning light came on at the same time that the steering failed. I had no prior warning. I took the vehicle to a service center that confirmed the problem and replaced the power steering motor. I had the motor replaced and kept the defective motor in case you would like to inspect it.
NHTSA complaint 11662006Technical service bulletins and other notices the manufacturer sent to dealers. A bulletin is not a recall.
