Infotainment system with back up camera and comfort systems, hands free etc has a crack in the screen that occurred overnight with no severe changes in weather and no physical damage occurring to prompt large crack starting in the plastic surround and spidering into the glass screen. Unable to effectively use screen or back up camera or other safety features contained within the unit.
NHTSA complaint 11763155While driving 45mph along a straight, open highway my vehicle suddenly shifted itself to park and stopped itself abruptly. I was then unable to shift the car out of park or move the brake or gas pedal or turn off the vehicle. This lasted for approximately 15 minutes and the car would not let me open the doors. All the dashboard lights were illuminated and my driver display screen stated if I took my foot off the brake the car would reverse. Eventually after 15 minutes of trying to shift and turn off the car it did shut off.
NHTSA complaint 11759858Upon starting my vehicle, my dashboard began flashing errors. All the indicator lights were lighted up (power steering, engine, collision detection, traction). The mileage began blinking on and off. Both of the light indicators on my side windows (for blindspot detection) were continuously illuminated even though I was parked and no vehicles were next to me. The error messages that were flashing on my dashboard were: Service Electronic Stability Control, Service Power Steering, Active Lane Management Limited, and Blind Spot Alert Unavailable. I have pictures of all of this. Additionally, when I put the vehicle into reverse, another error message displayed but I didn't get a picture of this message. When I drove the vehicle down the road (less than half a mile), it sounded louder as if I was revving the engine but I was not. I pulled off to the side, turned my vehicle off and then back on again, but the same error messages and lights continued to happen. I am being told by the dealership that I am responsible for this electrical issue because my vehicle is out was warranty. This is a leased vehicle and there is 43k miles on my vehicle. I have kept up with all maintenance and shouldn't be responsible for the cost of fixing this issue because it's leased and not my fault. The manufacturer should be responsible for fixing issues with their vehicles.
NHTSA complaint 11759663Vehicle accelerated without action . To dangerous speeding causing flipping of vehicle and harm to driver
NHTSA complaint 11753966Right rear control arm snapped/severed!
NHTSA complaint 11753445No accident there is a recall on the seat.
NHTSA complaint 11752621No warning lamps were displayed relating to the recall. I was hit from behind while driving between 60 and 70MPH. I lost control and spun around twice before violently hitting a guard rail, perpendicular to the driver's side of my vehicle. The side/door airbags failed to deploy. My neck was thrown into the seatbelt and door. I suffered from partial vocal cord paralysis, tinnitus, dysphagia, loss of hearing, pain, and other symptoms due to the impact; my sternocleidomastoid and associated nerves being primarily affected. As a result I was out of work from May 13th, 2026 to July 3rd, 2026. I was not aware or notified about any recalls until after my accident. My vehicle was totalled.
NHTSA complaint 11749636Dead Battery. The Telematics Bix Module (TBM) is failing to properly shut off when the car is parked. Therefore it induces a parasitic drain on the battery. We have had the battery replaced by the dealer. This problem is known to affect 2022-2025 models.
NHTSA complaint 11749060Significant electrical issues. Screens randomly turn off and flicker which prevents driver from being able to see vehicle status including speed. Vehicle also has built in charge pad which over heats and concerned could lead to wires melting and fire. Vehicle has spent multiple weeks at dealership for electrical issues but no solution has thus far been found. Viddeo shows flickering but shut off happens randomly and have not been able to catch on video. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
NHTSA complaint 11745711On XXX at approximately 630pm during rush-hour traffic crossing the XXX on [XXX], my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited L (11,800 miles) the brake pedal went to the floor and the vehicle would not stop normally. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. This created a dangerous situation in heavy traffic with my child in the car and could have easily led to a collision. The vehicle was promptly taken to the closest authorized Jeep dealer. They diagnosed a Brake Vacuum Booster failure along with Diagnostic Trouble Code P057B-00 (Brake Pedal Position Sensor related). I have video footage of the symptom occurring and photos of the repair diagnosis. This is a new vehicle with very low mileage, and this unexpected failure raises serious safety concerns about potential defects in the brake system. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this matter to determine if it affects other 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokees. Vehicle Information: • Make/Model/Year: Jeep Grand Cherokee 2024 • VIN: [XXX] • Mileage at time of failure: 11,800 miles • Date of purchase: 11/1/2024 No injuries or crash occurred, but the safety risk was SIGNIFICANT. NHTSA complaint 11744355September 2025 Collision (side impact) where airbags failed to deploy resulting in injury to driver and two children.
NHTSA complaint 11744195This car slams the breaks to a stop in the middle of an intersection while turning left with other cars across the intersection also turning left. It thinks we will hit but we are not going to. This has happened twice. Luckily, the driver behind us was paying attention both times and also slammed their brakes, avoiding a collision.
NHTSA complaint 117409352024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve was parked before a snow / ice storm and when we went to drive it 5 days later, after the storm, it would not move and made a loud explosion noise when I pressed the accelerator. I immediately turned the Jeep off and went to look underneath to see if I could see what happened. The rear brake pads and calipers were blown off, along with a bunch of broken parts and the air ride suspension was at its fully extended height. It's been to 2 Jeep dealers who can not explain what happened and Jeep says there is nothing they can do. We have only owned this Jeep, which was purchased new, for less then 20 months when this happened. If this had happened while driving, we could have had an accident and been severely injured. The Jeep is available at this time to be inspected. No lights were on prior to this happening.
NHTSA complaint 11731261Active Lane Management disengages itself upon start up. Sometimes says needs servicing - message disappears upon car restarting. Car states key fob is not in vehicle when it is. Car has turned on, not shifted into gear, and then not been able to be turned off. Steering input from the system is sudden and does not consistently match actual road conditions Radio screen flashes/goes black/freezes Emergency Assisted Braking system activates without a clear obstacle present Braking events are abrupt and unexpected during normal driving Both systems operate intermittently and without a consistent pattern, making the behavior unreliable Dealership has been unsuccessful in reproducing any of these problems despite picture proof provided. Has happened on multiple occasions - beginning in September 2025. Jeep/Stellantis unwilling to resolve. Safety Risk: The unexpected steering corrections and sudden braking create a risk of loss of vehicle control and increase the likelihood of a rear-end collision or other traffic incident. These safety systems are not functioning as intended and instead introduce unpredictable and potentially dangerous vehicle behavior.
NHTSA complaint 11725870In July 2025 with only 15,330 miles, I was driving my vehicle leaving a parking lot and I suddenly lost power steering assist in my vehicle. Power Steering light, check engine light, traction control light, and sensor light all illuminated, my odometer began flashing and a message on the screen stating " Service Electronic Stability Control". I safely pulled over and had my car towed to a dealership where they diagnosed an EPS C2 connector was corroded and did not have dielectric grease from the factory. The sensor was cleaned and greased and reinstalled, codes cleared and I thought my vehicle was repaired. In February 2026 with only 19,125 miles, as I was leaving for work, again my vehicle lost power steering assist. Again, Power steering light, traction control light, check engine light, sensor lights, auto stop light all illuminated, my odometer was again flashing and the message on the screen was " Service Electronic Stability Control." The vehicle was again towed into the dealership where they told me that they performed a power steering "flash" and that my check engine light was because of an engine oil pressure issue, they performed an oil change and cleared the computer. This is a serious safety concern that has resulted in towing the vehicle twice, and I received two different diagnosis. I do not feel safe in this vehicle and I do not want to be traveling with my child in this vehicle. I pay far too much money every month, on a brand new vehicle that we leased to be having these serious issues. Loss of power steering is not only a safety concern for myself, but others as well if I were to lose steering assist while driving. The problem has been identified at two different dealerships.
NHTSA complaint 11724070Seems to be electrical / speaker related (forums state its the noise canceling system) This is a safety issue as around 20% of the time at cold start the car emits an extremely loud booming base sound that lasts 20-30 seconds. Despite only happening at startup anything that can impair a drivers senses is extremely dangerous as it impacts the driver and anything with noise happening around them. The problem has not been able to be reproduced by a dealer and they also wont incorporate the TSB unless it can be. Link below to reddit thread and a youtube video of the well known issue. [XXX] [XXX] Also, there is a link to a TSB, which you have issued, but this needs to be escalated to a recall asap. NHTSA complaint 11720484Component/System: Windshield/visibility system and possible body sealing or A-pillar water intrusion affecting interior and defrost performance. The condition is available for inspection upon request. Description of the problem and safety risk: I purchased a new 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Altitude. Within months of purchase, the vehicle began experiencing water intrusion inside the cabin, which has led to persistent interior moisture, fogging, and mildew odor despite multiple repair attempts over the past year. A significant safety concern occurs while driving: the interior of the windshield can fog or condensate suddenly and heavily enough to reduce forward visibility. When this happens, I must slow down and consider pulling over until visibility clears. The condition typically resolves within approximately 1–2 minutes but has occurred repeatedly during normal driving. Loss of clear windshield visibility while the vehicle is in motion creates a potential driving hazard for myself, my child passenger, and other motorists. Reproduction/confirmation: The condition has been reported to and evaluated by an authorized Jeep dealership during multiple service visits. Repairs have been attempted, including extensive interior disassembly to locate a water leak, but the problem has persisted. Inspection by manufacturer or others: The dealership and Stellantis (manufacturer) have been involved through warranty repair attempts and case review. An independent evaluation is being pursued to determine the root cause. Warning lamps or prior symptoms: No warning lamps or electronic messages appeared prior to the visibility impairment. Symptoms include interior moisture accumulation, mildew odor, and intermittent heavy windshield condensation while driving.
NHTSA complaint 11719003The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. While the contact's wife was parking the vehicle, the gear shifter was shifted to park(P), and the engine revved very high. No warning lights were illuminated. The failure had occurred three times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated, but the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle independently accelerated, and the contact slammed on the brake pedal to slow the vehicle. The vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the road. The vehicle was turned off, but could be restarted independently. The contact stated that the failure was a persistent failure. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact was informed that there were no fault codes retrieved. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 12,500.
NHTSA complaint 11718492All lights came on when starting vehicle. Had no power steering, blind spot monitors failed, etc.
NHTSA complaint 11717549I purchased my Jeep in 8/2024. Since purchasing this Jeep it has had an intermittent burning smell. I was told by the dealership I got it at that it’s normal for burning smells on new cars. Well 13,700 miles later it’s still doing it and a couple of times I have seen smoke coming from the hood area up closer to the windshield area. I took my Jeep to another dealership on 11/29/2025. They drove it and smelled the burning but said they have checked everything and can not figure out where it’s coming from. They had me pick it up on 12/24/2025 and told me to bring it back if it did it again. On 12/26/2025 I returned the Jeep to the service department due to smelling the burning 3 times during the 3 days I had it. The service department still has my vehicle as of 1/12/2026 with no updates. I have contacted Stellantis and they have not done anything. The date to the question of when this happened, I put in the last time it did it. The first time I do not recall exactly but I did contact the dealership in Feb 2025 to inform them my car smelled like it was going to catch on fire sitting at a stop light.
NHTSA complaint 11710813Technical service bulletins and other notices the manufacturer sent to dealers. A bulletin is not a recall; the 60 most recent are listed.
