I am submitting a formal complaint regarding my 2022 Lincoln Navigator, VIN [XXX], which I purchased new from a Lincoln dealership in [XXX]. Since purchasing the vehicle, it has experienced multiple significant mechanical, safety, and reliability problems: The transmission required repair, and the vehicle remained at the repair facility for more than one month while the work was completed. The original tires had to be replaced, resulting in an out-of-pocket expense of approximately $1,900. The suspension has not operated properly since we purchased the vehicle and continues to cause concern. The vehicle has reportedly been affected by seven recalls. The entire air-conditioning system now needs repair, and I have been quoted approximately $2,700. The continuing transmission and suspension problems are particularly concerning because they may affect the vehicle’s safe operation. Considering that this Navigator was purchased new and is a premium vehicle, this history of repeated defects, recalls, extended repair time, and substantial expenses is unacceptable. I respectfully request: A comprehensive review of the vehicle’s complete warranty, recall, and repair history. A thorough inspection of the transmission and suspension to determine whether the vehicle can be operated safely. Repair of the complete air-conditioning system at no cost to me. Reimbursement of the approximately $1,900 paid to replace the tires. Appropriate reimbursement for transportation expenses and the extended period the vehicle was unavailable. Consideration of a manufacturer repurchase, replacement vehicle, extended warranty, or other substantial goodwill assistance because of the vehicle’s continuing problems. Please establish a formal case, provide me with the case number, and respond in writing within 10 business days. I am prepared to provide the purchase agreement, repair orders, tire invoice, air-conditioning estimate, recall notices, photographs, and any o INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U
NHTSA complaint 11761973The contact owns a 2022 Lincoln Navigator. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V455000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced the failure.
NHTSA complaint 11742923No collision warning; completely break failed. Vehicle had some fuel leakage which was fixed on May-21-2026 and break was failed on May-22-2026 which caused due to this repair. It was a major accident and my car got total due to this. I need full refund of my car; same amount when I bought this car.
NHTSA complaint 11739952The rear portion of the moonroof on the vehicle, spontaneous imploded while sitting in the parking area in the middle of the night we have video evidence to prove that nothing happened to the vehicle during the night, and it also appears that the moonroof imploded from the inside as it expanded towards the outside of the body.
NHTSA complaint 11739703Vehicle is subject to multiple open federal safety recalls with no repair remedy currently available from Ford/Lincoln. One recall involves potential fuel pump failure causing loss of fuel pressure, engine stall while driving, and increased crash risk. A second recall involves interruption of driver assistance and visibility systems including rearview camera, forward collision warning, lane keeping, and related safety systems. This vehicle is operated in a commercial passenger rental fleet. Due to federal rental vehicle recall compliance requirements, the vehicle was removed from rental service immediately after issuance of the recalls and cannot legally be rented until repaired. Ford/Lincoln currently has no available repair remedy despite the recalls having been active for an extended period of time. The lack of available remedy has rendered the vehicle commercially unusable for an extended period while continuing to create ongoing safety concerns related to engine stall and interruption of critical driver assistance systems. The vehicle remains unavailable for lawful commercial operation pending manufacturer remedy.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure.
NHTSA complaint 11729362While in an airport cell phone waiting lot, an extremely loud explosion happened. I screamed and looked back at my toddler and infant also in the vehicle with me. Thankfully, nobody was harmed. There were no warning lights or sounds before or after the event. I could hear some wind above. I exited the vehicle and checked it - the front panel of the panoramic sunroof had exploded. There was in incredibly large defect in the center with upward bowing and tenting throughout the remaining glass. Pieces of all sizes, tiny to large, were gathered on the closed shade below. I contacted the dealership as the vehicle was still under a bumper to bumper warranty. I took the vehicle to the dealership, and the service department submitted a claim to the warranty department. This was denied as “no point of impact” was identified. Lincoln forums report multiple similar incidences of spontaneously exploding sunroofs. This is incredibly dangerous as it would be a huge hazard if occurred while driving and, if the shade had been opened, it would have seriously injured my children or me.
NHTSA complaint 11723386At about 2:30am after hearing some popping noises I went to the vehicle and saw that the engine under the bonnet was on fire. The fire was seeping out from the sides of the bonnet. The vehicle had been parked since 9:20pm the previous night. I called emergency services including the fire department and the police. It spread very quickly in the Garage where the car was parked and burnt out the garage and the Tesla Plaid parked in the same garage. Firefighters put out the fire with total disintegrated remains. It was just luck that I was awake to catch this at this stage otherwise it would have spread to the house. My 3 children and wife were sleeping. The fire started in the engine of the parked Lincoln Navigator. Visual confirmation of the event is evident.
NHTSA complaint 11701625The foot rails outside the vehicle either don't go up or don't go down. Also, there are several times that the foot rail goes down, and as I step on it, it closes with my foot still on it. Causing me to fall or get my foot stuck between the rail and the car. Fortunately, I didn't get hurt the 4 times that it happened. There is no consistency as to when it happens or any type of warning. The vehicle is scheduled to go in for additional service, but I wanted to file this complaint as it's an extremely dangerous hazard for occupants. Started around the end of June.
NHTSA complaint 11680394upon arriving home after a vacation, the NAV experienced complete brake fluid loss and no braking as a result. I investigated the brake lines and one of the lines had been secured to the frame with a clip - this clip was not secure and the brake like was chaffed against the air cleaner housing

NHTSA complaint 11531641The contact owns a 2022 Lincoln Navigator. The contact stated while parked in a parking lot on a stormy day, lightning struck nearby the vehicle, and the vehicle lost electrical power. The vehicle failed to start after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, the vehicle could not be restarted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 57,000.
NHTSA complaint 11531460I was driving and didn't notice this truck ahead of me as I switched lanes. Although fault is questionable since the truck we traveling extremely slow on the highway, my vehicle had plenty of time to stop with the Pre-Collision System. That system is intended to avoid front end collisions and apply emergency breaks if required. IT DIDN'T. I have video of the system failure from my Dash Cam.
NHTSA complaint 11527872Transmission is now shifting violently, it is produces jolts of power before shifting, a lack of power after shifting and will hold gears longer than usual. Tends to feel like it is gear hunting at low speeds and down shifts sporadically.
NHTSA complaint 11522811Moonroof exploded and shattered while driving. Was on a 2 lane paved highway and no other cars were around.
NHTSA complaint 11514473Windshield wipers will stop working when driving in weather that requires the windshield wipers. They stop in place and will not move even when trying to move them manually. This is an intermittent problem. The windshield wipers will reset and start working after a period of 6+ hours of the car being turned off. This happened on 12/1/22 and 12/10/22 while driving the car. Car dealership will not assist unless there is failure that can be produced at time of service. Lincoln has been notified and is unable to assist as well.
NHTSA complaint 11497041Vehicle would not start. Did not recognize key fob, phone app for engine start or the password.
NHTSA complaint 114931961. THE MONITOR ON THE VEHICLE WENT BLACK ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS SO FAR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING. THE SCREEN REBOOTED BUT CAUSES THE RETRACTABLE RUNNING BOARDS TO BE LOCKED IN THE UP POSITION. IN ORDER TO ADDRESS THE RUNNING BOARDS YOU MUST GO INTO THE SETTINGS AND ADJUST THE RUNNING BOARDS FROM OFF TO AUTOMATIC. 2. DURING USE OF THE ACTIVE ASSIST, THE VEHICLE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS HAS JUST SUDDENLT DECELERATED TO 45MPH REGARDLESS OF THE SPEED THAT WAS SET. THIS HAS OCCURED WITH NO VEHICLES INFRONT OR TO THE SIDES ON STRAIGHT ROADS.
NHTSA complaint 11491382Car accelerated very fast while in reverse and brake would not work. After reversing into other cars the car Finally stopped. When the car was turned back on it would not going to gear because the break was not being registered as being pressed
NHTSA complaint 11485481I purchased a new 2022 Lincoln Navigator Reserve L and just took a 3000 mile road trip and used their Active Glide driver assistance extensively and have uncovered a MAJOR safety issue with their system. The issue I found is that when using the adaptive cruise control feature the system will sometimes read a car in the adjacent lane as moving in front of my vehicle and apply the brakes very hard causing my car to immediately and strongly slow down at highway speeds - with other cars behind me. This happens mostly on curves when the straight line of sight sees the car in either the right or left lane next to me at about a 20' distance. There is no warning of brake application and can make the driver lose control. I was almost rear ended multiple times. I know the driver assistance requires the driver to be attentive - and fortunately I heeded these warnings. It appears my vehicle is trying to very quickly acquire the distance between my vehicle and what it thinks is a vehicle in front on me. This is a major issue and will lead to accidents.
NHTSA complaint 11476163Technical service bulletins and other notices the manufacturer sent to dealers. A bulletin is not a recall; the 60 most recent are listed.
