The problems with this vehicle placed my wife and me in several life-threatening situations for an extended period. The most serious event happened on [XXX] during Labor Day weekend traffic. The vehicle suddenly and severely lost propulsion at highway speed, and [XXX] has not identified or documented the cause of that failure. Because the cause remains unknown, I have no reasonable basis to believe the vehicle is safe to drive or that the same event will not happen again. Four serious dangers during the [XXX] incident 1. Sudden loss of speed in highway traffic. While traveling in traffic moving at more than 70 mph, the Gravity suddenly and severely lost propulsion and slowed to less than about 10 mph. This created an immediate danger of being struck from behind by vehicles and large trucks traveling at highway speed. 2. Immediate need to cross traffic and get off the roadway. Because the vehicle could no longer keep up with traffic, I had to immediately navigate it through fast-moving Labor Day weekend traffic toward the side of the road. The vehicle had very little available speed, which greatly reduced my ability to avoid other vehicles or respond to changing traffic conditions. 3. Stranded beside an on-ramp for about 30 minutes. After reaching the side of the road, we remained in an extremely dangerous location for about half an hour. Large trucks passed very close to us while accelerating to enter the interstate. A Maryland State Trooper eventually arrived. He was adamant that the location was extremely unsafe, even after he parked his patrol vehicle behind us with its emergency lights flashing. 4. Forced to drive at about 10 mph with the frunk hood fully open. To reach a safer location, I had to travel along XXX for about 20 minutes to the next exit. Each time I put the vehicle into gear, the frunk hood fully opened on its own. I could close the hood from inside the vehicle, but it opened again every time I put the vehicle into gear. On XXX while driving approximately 170 miles along the [XXX] corridor from [XXX] to [XXX], the vehicle’s Hands-Free driver assistance system (Highway Assist / DreamDrive) suffered three critical, unprovoked disengagements, creating severe near-miss rear-end hazards. Prior to the trip, I had intentionally disabled the automatic lane change feature due to known unreliability, relying only on Hands-Free lane centering and speed control while performing manual lane changes myself. Despite this, the system failed catastrophically three times: Incident 1 (Heavy Rain): Driving in torrential rain where the windshield wipers failed to adequately clear the glass. With no vehicles ahead but traffic actively following behind, the Hands-Free system abruptly disengaged and caused immediate unexpected deceleration. In extremely poor visibility on a high-speed interstate, this sudden slowdown created an immediate rear-end collision hazard. Incident 2 (Passing Lane Maneuver): While driving around 70–75 mph in a 65 mph zone to complete a standard overtaking maneuver in the passing lane, the system suddenly dumped steering and speed control mid-maneuver with traffic fast approaching from behind. I had to instantly intervene to prevent a collision and keep control of the vehicle. Incident 3 (Unprovoked Disengagement): On an open, straight highway segment with clear weather, no road construction, no lane obstruction, and no surrounding vehicles, the system abruptly disengaged for no identifiable reason. A driver-assist system in a 3-row family vehicle that unpredictably disengages in adverse weather, mid-overtake, and on clear open highways poses an unreasonable risk of severe rear-end crashes. This constitutes a critical safety defect that requires immediate federal investigation. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I had three children in the vehicle getting out. Two in the second row and one in the third row. I walked away from the car with the key in my pocket and my two children in the second row closed the door on the child in the third row before she got out. Because my key was in my pocket and i was far away from the vehicle, the car locked when the doors shut. My child in the third row climbed into the second row and attempted to open the door--she could not open any of the rear doors. The child locks were not activated, and there is no way to open the rear doors when the car is locked. I tried this with my older child, thinking my younger child was not strong enough to manually open the doors when they were locked and the key was away, and she could not do it either. There is no way for a child to get out of the car if they accidentally close the doors on themselves, the key is not nearby, and the car locks. This is an EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD. This Lucid has many electrical glitches, but this is the first one that i have come across that now makes me nervous to own the car. Having child locks activated is a different story, but if those are turned off, anyone should be able to exit the vehicle when it is on or off if they are locked in the car. Children can become trapped and when this happens there can be severe consequences, especially in the summer time.

I am exiting the freeway, and the far two right lanes both exit. I’m in the inner exiting lane, and I signal to take the exit. There’s a car to my right, exiting at the same time. As I’m taking the exit, my Gravity Grand Touring seemingly thinks I’m going to turn into the other car exiting near me and engages the collision intervention, whereby it forcibly steers me into the gore point until I wrestle the steering wheel back into the correct lane. I’ve also noticed that the car sends an audible collision prevention alerts when I make a turn (with a turn signal on) when a car is turning next to me (like when there are two or three turn lanes). I have experienced other safety concerns with the software on this car. For part of the day, my turn signals did not function when I operated the physical stock controls. Additionally, I had an incident where the automatic folding mirror on my passenger side failed to fold back out into proper position while driving. It was essentially folded into the car, whereby I could not see any traffic on my passenger side.

I have driven about 7 Lucid Gravity's. They have 0 straight line tracking. The car constantly veers towards the right without active pressure and correction by the driver. This has resulted in several dangerous instances when using hands free driving. Hands free driving randomly gets disabled and the car will start veering towards the right - giving me less than 2 seconds to react. I've been in several close calls driving at 65 mph on the highway. Lucid has verbally acknowledged multiple times that the car's cannot drive straight but have not given me any action plan on what they will do.

Yesterday, while driving home on a surface street, I experienced a sudden loss of drive power, multiple dashboard warning lights, and violent shaking throughout the vehicle, creating a significant safety hazard for both me and surrounding motorists. It is fortunate that this did not occur at highway speeds. The shaking was so intense that the head-up display on the windshield was visibly vibrating, and when I arrived home ( driving the one mile at less than 35 mph as indicated on the dash), I discovered that one of the rear seats had folded itself down. The other likely remained upright only because a child booster seat was installed there (fortunately unoccupied). The vehicle currently has 161 miles on the odometer, including pre-delivery mileage and is undrivable.

On February 6, 2026, my wife was operating our 2026 Lucid Gravity when she shifted into reverse. The rearview/backup camera failed to activate on the center display. Simultaneously, the electronic gear selector became unresponsive and would not change gears. The combined failure resulted in a near-collision; no impact or injuries occurred. Both affected systems remain in the vehicle and are available for inspection upon request. The rearview camera is federally required equipment under FMVSS No. 111. Its failure to display when reverse was selected, combined with an unresponsive gear selector, left the driver with neither rear visibility nor the ability to shift out of gear to avoid a hazard. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center. The defect was reported to Lucid Motors by email on February 9, 2026. As of this filing, Lucid has not scheduled a diagnostic appointment for this failure, and no technician has inspected the camera or gear selector. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance, or any other party in connection with this incident. Prior to the February 6 failure, the vehicle displayed persistent warnings since delivery, including a non-dismissible dashboard warning symbol and error messages for the surround view camera, rear steering, high beam assist, and headlights. These were first observed within days of delivery on December 16, 2025, and formally reported to Lucid on January 7, 2026. Whether these warnings were directly related to the backup camera or gear selector failure is UNKNOWN; my best assessment is that the surround view camera error and dashboard warning may have been early indicators of a broader camera or software fault, though this has not been diagnosed by the manufacturer.

Vehicle was driving at 50-55 MPH on [XXX] . The vehicle immediately gave multiple warning systems such as "Dream Drive Unavailable" "Regenerative Braking unavailable, use brake pedal" "Hold unavailable" "Dynamic handling unavailable" "Car will Power off in 5 minutes" and the car started applying the breaks and went into a "turtle" mode. It went from 50 miles per hour down to 35 miles per hour in the middle of the road with traffic. I had my three children, my wife, my grandmother, and my aunt in the car with me. We were almost rear ended, but we were able to move to the side and take the backroads to the house as we were 1 mile away. The car refused to drive after the 5 minute count down, and a tow company took the car to the Lucid dealership. Since 5/15/2026, the car has been at the same spot in the dealership, as they also have not been able to turn it on. They're also unable to look at it, due to a large amount of issues they have with other cars and lack of staff. The car is undriveable, has safety issues, and almost caused an accident with 7 passengers in the car. I would like Lucid to buy back the car, pay me back my down payment, and reimburse my last month of payment as I haven't been able to drive the car. They also have no timeline to when they will be able to look at the car, or repair it. Other users experience similar issues with the Lucid Gravity 2026 model, and numerous reports are online. When you press the button in the middle row to fold the seat forward so that the rear passenger can go to the back, the force of the chair is very strong. It almost knocked me out because my head was there and it flung forward. Also the middle seat on the middle row doesn't latch. You really have to use all your force to have it latch. The dream drive (auto drive) on the lucid is activated by the buttons on the steering wheel. The buttons do not work all the time. Sometimes I have to press it 5 times for it to disengage. It's very dangerous if it is in an emergency situation if the system can't turn off. I have it on video and the service center knows about it. There is no fix because they said they can try to replace the steering wheel again but it didn't work the last time.

I took delivery Dec 9 2025. Since that date it is evident that the backup (rear-view) camera was never properly calibrated - nor were the othe backup parking assist collision avoidance systems. The system and camera indicate 25-30 inches clearance at the point that the rear bumper makes contact with fixed objects behind the car! Had this been a child instead of a wall - injuries would certainly have occurred. The manufacturer tells me it will be at least June before they will even look at the system

Components are the HEAD UP DISPLAY (HUD) and the WINDSHIELD. The HUD mechanism is located on, and in, the dashboard. It projects/displays driving information on to the windshield at eye level of driver. During day time, typically bright, sunny days, the HUD also casts a blue reflection onto the windshield, typically a blue oval that can vary in size depending on direction of travel and location of sun. It also casts a wavering, and fluttering, flag like reflection on top of, to the side of, and much bigger than the blue oval. It also has brightness to it as it flutters and waves. All of this is primarily a nuisance, and somewhat of a distraction, although because it is an opaque reflection, the driver can see through the reflection to the roadway. To the extent it is a distraction it poses a safety concern. That, however, is not the major safety concern. Again, depending on the direction of driving and the location of the sun, periodically a bright, blinding, spotlight reflection is cast on the windshield causing momentary blindness to the driver. To avoid danger, the driver must stop (impossible to do in moving traffic), change direction (impossible to do immediately in moving traffic) or move his/her head to try to momentarily diminish, or avoid, the intense glare of the spotlight on the eyes until a stop, or change in direction, is possible. Obviously, while safety belted into the driver's seat, and operating a moving vehicle, moving one's head, even slightly, is difficult. The danger to, and the safety of, the driver, passengers in the vehicle, if any, and other vehicles on the roadway, is manifest. The problem, to some extent, had been confirmed by the dealer local service center. The response has been that, at least at the present time, nothing can be done to remediate the problem. There are no, nor have been, any warnings, notifications or messages concerning this problem. A browsing of the internet indicates other Gravity owners have experienced the problem

DreamDrive Pro 2 is extremely dangerous and should have an immediate STOP order for all Lucids. It fails to identify road hazards and take evasive action. In multiple instances, the car has accelerated towards a stopped object and has abruptly removed autonomous driving while engaged during turns, resulting in the car veering towards obstacles.
