I was adjusting the seat up and it felt like something broke loose and wentkind of sideways, and then the airbag light went on and freaked me out and about wrecked my car. I took it in to get it looked at and apparently the seat breaking loose caused the airbag to come unplugged and they said the rail and frame need replaced. The car doesn’t even have 80,000 miles on it and this is apparently a big problem with these seat frames and rails breaking loose, but yet my car is not part of the recall. It needs to be part of the recall. I think Nissan should help pay for the cost of this stuff. This is a serious safety issue and most people don’t have an extratwo grand to throw down to keep their car safe when it is poor manufacturing.
NHTSA complaint 11768255I am reporting a severe safety hazard regarding unresolved secondary electrical component damage caused directly by the Recall PC934 factory defect on my 2017 Nissan Rogue SL AWD. The vehicle experienced severe moisture entry, heavy rust on the driver-side floorboard, a complete loss of Electronic Power Steering, an inoperable electronic trunk, and a massive parasitic battery drain with visible terminal corrosion. The dealership performed the physical PC934 wiring harness connector swap but left the vehicle completely undrivable with zero power steering assist, claiming the secondary component damage is my out-of-pocket responsibility. Nissan Corporate is actively denying recall assistance for the exact short-circuit failures detailed in their federal recall documentation, posing an immediate physical threat to drivers. My case number on the case is 57100798
NHTSA complaint 11767781My vehicle is suffering from severe brake safety failures directly caused by federal recall R22A6 (ABS Actuator Thermal Damage). Under heavy stop-and-go conditions in a parking lot, the vehicle's ABS, Slip, and Brake warning lights all illuminated simultaneously, creating an immediate safety hazard on public roads. The problem and specific components have been verified via multiple diagnostic scans. Prior to the recall service, an OBD-II scan at Autozone revealed active codes C1111 (ABS Pump Motor Failure) and C1130, which perfectly match the thermal/electrical failure path of recall R22A6. The defective components are available for inspection upon request. However, Alhambra Nissan dealership merely completed the paperwork for the recall campaign but refused to remedy the actual collateral damage to the ABS pump motor, demanding an additional $240 diagnostic fee instead. Furthermore, immediately after their service, a new code P0113 (Intake Air Temperature Sensor Circuit High) appeared, proving the dealership technician damaged or left an engine sensor unplugged during the recall work. Contacted the dealer for the new code, they insist to do the diagnostic for that issue. Both the dealer and Nissan North America Corporate have ignored my formal safety inquiries and gone completely silent, forcing me to operate an unsafe vehicle.
NHTSA complaint 11759821while going about 30 mph, It was as if someone had slammed the brakes on and brought me to complete stop.
NHTSA complaint 11754455My transmission has been slipping and sticking for years. My USB port hasn't worked in years and the connection as well, the light on the radio doesn't work.
NHTSA complaint 11754236Component: Suspension: Front: Control Arm: Left Lower Arm Description: While operating the vehicle at approximately 5 mph, the left (drivers' side) front lower control arm suffered a catastrophic structural material failure, snapping completely into two parts by the ball joint without warning. The structural failure caused the front wheel assembly to collapse outward, ripping the axle out of the transmission and immediately severing steering control and braking. The vehicle immediately pulled to the left and came to a complete stop. The sudden loss of vehicular control created an immediate, severe safety hazard on a public roadway. Considering that 10 minutes prior, the vehicle was traveling at interstate highway speeds; lives were possibly saved by the failure at the point in time it did fail. The left fender was also damaged and blocked, exiting from the driver's side door. There was also damage to the struts as well as damage to the stabilizer bars on the struts. The axle was also disengaged from the transmission as well. Inspection of the failed component reveals a complete cross-sectional fracture of the metal housing, which represents a severe structural manufacturing or metallurgical defect. The failed component and photographic evidence have been preserved for engineering analysis. The AAA Service Center confirmed the issue in the repair invoice and a secondary email from the service center elaborated on the issue. No other representatives have inspected the component since the incident. There were no issues prior to the failure, but the vehicle had to be previously towed on 06/02/2026 due to a battery fuse assembly that was preventing the vehicle immobilizer from disengaging. The tow required skids since the front wheels were locked in place and there was no way to disable them. The tow was provided by AAA on 6/1/26 to my local Nissan Dealership. On 6/2/26 a diagnostic and a multipoint inspection was completed and the fuse assembly was replaced.
NHTSA complaint 11753300After getting a flat tire, I used the spare that comes stock with the vehicle. As soon as I started driving, it said the tire was the incorrect size. I kept driving just trying to get the car home. It then showed awd temp overheating stop vehicle and looking out my rear view mirror I saw smoke. I rolled down the window and started hearing clunking and grinding so I stopped immediately and had it towed the rest of the way. My rear differential is completely broken.
NHTSA complaint 11751697Left me stranded on Mexico border.. battery shorts out . Charge port takes emery from phone instead of supplying it.. shorts out after closing hood for no reason fried battery black residue left behind around battery like fire happened. NHTSA complaint 11750467The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle experienced phantom braking. The "Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) Malfunction" message was displayed, and the brake warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.
NHTSA complaint 11750227Door/curtain airbags deployed suddenly without an accident and caused seatbelt to lock.
NHTSA complaint 11749642The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the liftgate suddenly became stuck. The liftgate became inoperable. The contact was unable to get the wheelchair out of the trunk of the vehicle. The contact manually opened the liftgate by crawling inside the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The local dealer was contacted and provided a diagnostic test cost. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where an unknown diagnostic test was performed and the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 132,000.
NHTSA complaint 11746118A warning ⚠️ keep coming up. The only thing I can see according to manual is to take it to a dealership. My blind spot detection is flashing on when nothing is there. When it stops then it's no longer working at all. Every time I go to take it in the dealership is works correctly. My power windows are no longer working as they should either. There is a recall that looks like this same issue on Rogues but my VIN isn't included. When it's diagnosed at auto center nothing comes up even with the ⚠️ showing.
NHTSA complaint 11745664"The CVT/drivetrain failed completely on May 28, 2026 at approximately 76,000 miles. The vehicle suddenly lost all drive power and came to a stop. Car is parked and completely undriveable. The failed component is the CVT transmission assembly — vehicle is available for inspection. Safety risk: Complete loss of drive power while operating a vehicle creates serious crash risk for driver and others on the road. Prior history: Nissan of Queens performed a CVT warranty repair on May 24, 2023 at 34,595 miles under Technical Service Bulletin NTB16-110Q for DTC P0776 — valve body was replaced. That bulletin requires a borescope inspection of the CVT belt before repair is complete. It is unknown if that inspection was performed. The vehicle passed three consecutive NY State safety inspections: January 2024, February 2025, and March 6, 2026 at 73,553 miles — only 2,546 miles before complete failure. Full maintenance history documented. No owner neglect. No warning lamps appeared before complete failure. Problem has not yet been confirmed by dealer as vehicle has not been towed for diagnosis. Nissan settled a $277.7M class action lawsuit covering 2014-2018 Rogues for this exact CVT defect. Nissan knew about this defect for years and performed an incomplete repair in 2023."
NHTSA complaint 11743827Issue: Garage caught fire. All wood (trusses, joists, walls) were in tact. Estimated in tact amount=99%. The vehicle was completely consumed. The hood melted, plastic, seats, tires consumed. Car was not driven day of incident. Origin was attributed to garage. Cause was undetermined by fire department. Report does not today address the vehicle in any way shape or form. There is no documentation as to what was seen upon removing garage doors. Had the can already been consumed? Did vehicle initially encapsulate the fire prior to moving into garage structure? It is speculated that NHTSA part 573 recall report 22V-875 may be applicable when viewed from design engineering point of view and not strictly to only vehicles addressed by Nissan in that report. There were no prior warnings of any kind that foretold the ensuing events. I am trying to get the fire department to amend report to record stated belief of fire origin (vehicle) which is not today evidenced in the report and as per the stated opinion by one of the fire fighters. I am further insisting that the insurance company assign a forensic expert in evaluating the origin and cause of the fire. Nissan has not been notified to date. I am imploring NHTSA to take this apparent prior documented safety issue further beyond what has been concluded in order to prevent any future safety issues should it so be judged by NHTSA as the authority in these matters.
NHTSA complaint 11743300The speedometer, cold and hot metter is malfunctioning
NHTSA complaint 11741845I am requesting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigate a potential defect affecting 2017 Nissan Rogue vehicles involving the sunroof drainage system. My vehicle has experienced repeated issues with the sunroof drain becoming clogged, which causes water to leak into the interior of the vehicle. When the drainage system becomes blocked, water enters the cabin and can soak the headliner, carpeting, electrical components, and other interior areas. This creates the potential for mold growth, electrical malfunctions, visibility issues, and other safety concerns. After researching this problem online, I discovered that many other 2017 Nissan Rogue owners have reported similar complaints involving clogged sunroof drains and water intrusion. The number of reported incidents suggests this may be a widespread design or manufacturing issue rather than normal wear and tear. I believe this condition presents a safety risk because water can damage electrical systems, airbags, sensors, and other critical vehicle components. Owners should not be expected to repeatedly repair a drainage system that appears prone to clogging and causing interior water damage. I respectfully request that NHTSA review consumer complaints regarding this issue and determine whether an investigation and potential recall of affected 2017 Nissan Rogue vehicles is warranted. Thank you for your time and consideration.
NHTSA complaint 11741762Driver door lock function not working properly. Door will not unlock using the push button or key fob function. Sometimes I have to open driver door through the back passenger door or getting in through the passenger door. While inside, driver door will not unlock and have to unlock door by rolling window down and opening from outside. Sometimes the door stays locked, door latch stays locked and causes door to not close.
NHTSA complaint 11741123Anytime the ac is on for longer than 10 min, it leaks water down the driver side panel onto the floor mats.
NHTSA complaint 11736771I have 2 different issues. One is the passenger rear door not wanting to open sometimes from outside sometimes from inside. Then sometimes it won't unlock and sometimes it won't lock. This issue started about 3 months ago. Second is my clock time both on the dashboard and the one where the radio/GPS shows it goes crazy from time to time. I just didn't know it was something we could report. This has been happening for about 2-3 years. When it happens it's always when I first turn on the car, it adds one hour exactly it always throws me off. Sometimes I have to check my phone to make sure. As I drive it take like 5 or so minutes then goes back to normal time on both clocks automatically. Sometimes it can be a couple months before it does it again, but has been consistently happening. I really haven't written down how often it happens.
NHTSA complaint 11735060Around 4:30pm on April 17, 2026 I got in my SUV in my driveway. Shut door and started the engine, heard a loud noise, looked in rear view mirror and saw the lift gate glass had blown out from inside the vehicle!
NHTSA complaint 11732326Technical service bulletins and other notices the manufacturer sent to dealers. A bulletin is not a recall; the 60 most recent are listed.
