The communication quality with the infotainment system does not work properly. Whenever you try to use Siri the audio cuts out and sounds distorted. This also happens during phone calls and it is a two way problem. You sound distorted to the person you’re calling and they also sound distorted to you. This problem happens with both wireless and wired connections as well as with and without Android Auto and CarPlay. This poses a serious and dangerous communication risk, especially during an emergency when you might need to call authorities or assistance. You would be required to manually disconnect your device’s connection from your car while driving which is both illegal and dangerous to perform during an emergency. This problem seems to be common amongst other drivers with the same car generation. The only fix that the dealership has proposed is to pay to update or to pay for a new system.
NHTSA complaint 11767615While stopped at a light and the engine safety to save gas comes on and sitting for an extended period of time will cause my car to “start” and while my foot is on the brake the car will jerk forward it has done this on 6 separate occasions
NHTSA complaint 11766734Following a severe rainstorm, heavy water intrusion occurred inside the vehicle. The rear passenger floorboard and the interior of the trunk were completely saturated with water. Immediately following this water intrusion, the factory backup camera system completely failed and stopped functioning, creating an immediate rear visibility hazard when operating the vehicle in reverse. The vehicle was taken to an authorized brand dealership for inspection. The dealership confirmed that the backup camera module failed explicitly due to liquid/water damage, and the failed part is available for inspection. However, the dealership stated that all factory weather seals and body drains are clear and functioning perfectly. Because they cannot identify the engineering defect or source allowing water to bypass the structure, they denied warranty coverage. This is a significant safety concern as an unknown structural or body sealing defect is actively directing water into critical electrical safety components (the backup camera infrastructure), causing immediate equipment failure. The manufacturer has failed to identify the source of the leak or remediate the visibility hazard. No warning lamps or symptoms appeared prior to the failure.
NHTSA complaint 11765309I was turning into a parking spot at a store when I tried to break the vehicle accelerated, then was forced into the wall and the vehicle, then went backwards, losing control, and continue to accelerate. The only way I was able to stop. The car is to put it and park and shut the engine off after hitting another vehicle behind me. I could not get out of the vehicle as the door was jammed when I got out of the vehicle it looks as if the steering column shaft came out of its place. It was exposed and stuck below the brake and gas pedals
NHTSA complaint 11763543Vehicle is exhibiting the exact CVT/driveshaft fluid leak symptoms described in Recall 24V-304, but my VIN is currently excluded from the campaign scope.
NHTSA complaint 11762570Headlight assembly not wired properly causing the driver's side Headlight not to work. Also the audio equipment inside the car has electrical issues.
NHTSA complaint 11760683While driving on the highway the hood released on its own while driving around 55 to 60 mph. No interior lever was pulled, and the hood still managed to flap open on its own damaging the windshield and denting the exterior of the hood. This is a safety issue please look into this as this could have put my life and others at risk.
NHTSA complaint 11758121Since I purchased the vehicle, I turn my steering wheel all the way to the left. It makes this clicking sound, and I can feel the clicking under me like it’s coming from the driver side and I have a maintenance notification on my dashboard fan. The clicking noise has gotten worse and made me do my own research on the problem. The tire needs maintenance, but there’s no flat so something told me to google exactly what was the problem was and I got a message on Google stating that there are many recalls on this particular car about a CV joint on the axle. I know that this is the problem because everything that was said online from people that had the car previously it’s the exact problem that I have. I need this inspected immediately.
NHTSA complaint 11755787The front left axle was replaced twice and the right axle replaced twice. Both have broken consistently. They were replaced by Nissan Dealer all times. My safety was put at risk by having to drive the vehicle with broken axles. There were no warning signs u til the axles started clicking and popping upon turning. The vehicle is available for inspection even though it is temporarily fixed.
NHTSA complaint 11755621I am submitting this complaint regarding what I believe is a premature paint system failure on my 2024 Nissan Sentra (VIN: [XXX]). At approximately 30,000 miles, the paint on the rear bumper and the front hood has developed extensive chipping and peeling that appears excessive for a vehicle of this age and mileage. While some stone chips are expected during normal driving, the extent and severity of the paint failure suggest the factory paint system may not have been properly applied. The damaged areas appear to have little or no visible primer beneath the paint, indicating what I believe may be poor paint adhesion, inadequate primer application, or an insufficient clear coat. The paint chips away very easily, exposing the underlying surface. I initially brought the vehicle to Loyalty Nissan in Short Pump, Virginia. Because that dealership does not have a collision or paint repair facility, I was referred to Hyman Brothers Nissan in Midlothian, Virginia for evaluation. During my discussions at Hyman Brothers, I was verbally informed by the dealership's paint technician that the condition appeared consistent with either an insufficient amount of hardener in the paint, an excessively thin clear coat, or both. Based on my own observations, I also believe the primer may not have been properly applied because little or no primer is visible where the paint has chipped away. However, these observations were not included in the dealership's written documentation. I opened a case with Nissan Consumer Affairs requesting warranty coverage. My claim was denied based solely on photographs submitted for review. I do not believe the concerns raised by the dealership personnel regarding the apparent quality of the factory paint application were fully considered during Nissan's review. NHTSA complaint 11754143Good morning. I wanted to make you aware of a potential safety concern with the 2024 Sentra. The ECO button is very close to the trunk open button, and on 2 separate occasions, I have accidentally opened my trunk instead of switching to eco mode while driving. Luckily, at the time of these incidents, I was traveling at a relatively low speed and able to quickly pull over. But this could be quite dangerous if it happened on the interstate or other major highway at higher speed and if there are items inside the trunk that could fall out. It seems like common sense that the trunk should remain locked and unable to open while the vehicle is in drive.
NHTSA complaint 11749258The contact owns a 2024 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the charging port, bluetooth feature, and the navigation system was inoperative. The low tire pressure, air bag and another unknown warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to get a diagnosis however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact did research and was made aware of an unknown NHTSA Campaign Number however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 36,979.
NHTSA complaint 11737554Headlights go out, completely dark while driving. This happens whether in auto lights or manual lighting.
NHTSA complaint 11737155Sway bar links are defective. The new one has just as much play is the old one. All oem Nissan parts.
NHTSA complaint 11737036The contact owns a 2024 Nissan Sentra. While the contact’s daughter was driving approximately 10 - 15 MPH and turning to the right, the front driver’s side wheel assembly, including the drive shaft, strut, shocks, and brake line detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was coasted to a stop, and the contact was immediately called. The driver had the vehicle towed to the dealer, but the vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
NHTSA complaint 11726611In December 2025, the vehicle was towed to the dealer after it shut off and would not restart. No warning lights displayed, no low fuel light displayed either. Dealer attributed stall to low fuel (fuel range showed 30 miles remaining), found no diagnostic codes, attributed it to low fuel, added gas, and released the vehicle and charged a DX fee. In February 2026 (approximately two months later), the vehicle lost power again while being driven and was rear-ended while disabled. Post-collision dash photos show approximately half a tank of fuel and malfunction indicators illuminated. The dealership had notice of a shutdown event and failed to properly diagnose or investigate before returning the vehicle as safe in December. My daughter was injured as a result of the rear end accident. The vehicle was a total loss.
NHTSA complaint 11722103Front axel damaged. Loud clicking, popping noise in both directions. Damaged axles are very dangerous. My car is now at Nissan for the 2nd time in less than a week. The front axle was replaced last week. It is now being replaced again. The active grille shutter also had to be replaced last week.
NHTSA complaint 11720194Two times in the past month my gas pedal has gotten stuck after I fully engaged it getting on the highway. Both times I had to hit the brakes and kick at the gas pedal a few times for it to disengage. This problem doesn’t always happen, as I’ve tried to do it on purpose to see if it would do it again. Not sure it it could possibly have anything to do with snow/ice or salt accumulation on outside of vehicle, as it is winter time In Massachusetts. This could have led to a bad accident injuring both myself and others, luckily I managed to break the gas pedal free both times. The problem happened two separate times. I have not brought it up to the dealer but will soon on my next service appointment. Vehicle and component hasn’t been inspected for this problem yet. There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms. They first appeared about a month ago (mid January 2026), and happened again first week of February 2026
NHTSA complaint 11718256Sometimes when stopped at a light and turning onto another street the car loses acceleration. The cars power does not shut off but causes a delay in the acceleration when turning or accelerating. I brought my vehicle to the dealership and they test drove it and hooked it up to the coding machine and said no codes came up and there isn’t a recall. However I looked and it said there is a recall on certain 2024 nissan sentra sv models as shown here - Driveshaft Separation (NHTSA 24V304000): The front left-side driveshaft may not be fully seated, or a retaining clip may be missing, causing a sudden loss of drive power and increasing the risk of a crash. Something is definitely wrong this has happened at least 10 times since I’ve had the vehicle.
NHTSA complaint 11716443This is the second time in the last 45 day that we have had a report of the front end "popping". We took 1 vehicle to Nissan of Murfeesboro and they replaced both front shaft assemblys. This vehicle was taken to Newton Nissan and they had to do the same repair on this vehicle. I have 12 of the year, make model in our fleet and have serious concerns
NHTSA complaint 11711433Technical service bulletins and other notices the manufacturer sent to dealers. A bulletin is not a recall.
