I CALLED SUBARU AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A WEAR ITEM. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED TWICE AND FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, I COULD HAVE LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE.

    I DROVE MY 1995 SUBARU IMPREZA TO THE GAS STATION (JUST A FEW MILES UP THE ROAD); TURNED THE CAR COMPLETELY OFF. I PULLED THE RELEASE TO OPEN THE GAS DOOR. AFTER I BEGAN TO UNSCREW THE GAS CAP (I DID NOT GET THE CAP COMPLETELY OFF) A BALL OF FIRE CAME OUT OF THE GAS TANK AROUND THE GAS CAP. THE FIRE BALL LASTED FOR 5 TO 10 SECONDS THEN DIED OUT ON ITS OWN. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG.
