The contact owns a 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid. The contact stated that while driving 5 MPH, two bystanders alerted the contact to stop the vehicle because there was pressurized gas coming from underneath the vehicle. The contact became aware of a loss of power. The contact was able to continue driving the vehicle. The failure was intermittent. The vehicle was towed. The dealer was contacted and replaced a hose and clamp that had popped out of place. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.
NHTSA complaint 11765897The windshield is very steep by design and is also seemingly extremely delicate. Within 6 months I had multiple spider cracks simply from driving around town and on the highway at 55-65 mph. A few weeks ago a rock hit the windshield and spidered almost immediately. The angle and the thin glass make it dangerous. It also cost just shy of $2900 to replace at my local Toyota dealership, which I did today. There are multiple complaints online in Toyota and Reddit and other forums.
NHTSA complaint 11763249The driver's side exterior mirror on my 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser vibrates excessively while driving, particularly at highway speeds. The vibration causes the mirror image to become blurred, making it difficult to accurately monitor adjacent lances and surrounding traffic. It reduces rearward visibility and creates a potential safety hazard during lane changes. I reported the issue to Toyota multiple times. After repeated visits the mirror was replaced under a one-time goodwill repair. However, the replacement mirror exhibits the same excessive vibration and the problem remains unsolved. Multiple dealerships have states that this is a common characteristic and has declined further repairs. The condition continues to interfere with safe operation and should be investigated.
NHTSA complaint 117552181. Brake System Failure-Recurring dashboard warnings including “Brake Power Low” and “Secondary Collision Brake System Malfunction.” Warnings have appeared multiple times, including while towing a travel trailer. The vehicle was diagnosed with related fault codes (including DTC C138071 – Stop Lamp Relay). The problem returned after a dealer service visit. I do not consider the vehicle safe to drive or tow while these warnings are active. 2.Issue 2 – Engine (Metal Debris / Elevated Iron) Metal filings and shavings have been found repeatedly on the magnetic oil drain plug. An independent laboratory oil analysis (Blackstone Laboratories) showed iron levels approximately 2.7 times higher than the normal average after only about 4,000 miles on the oil. This indicates abnormal internal engine wear.
NHTSA complaint 11754489Active Technical Service Bulletin that was not disclosed by Toyota or my dealer. The brakes make a piercing metal on metal noise when placed in reverse. I've been told this is not a safety issue, there will be no longer term impacts, and it is safe to drive. The issue however is that Toyota is limiting distribution of available repair parts, so I am on a 5-6 month wait list with my dealer. Bulletin is: T-SB-0046-25 Rev2
NHTSA complaint 11735622Technical service bulletins and other notices the manufacturer sent to dealers. A bulletin is not a recall.
