Intermitent loss of electronic power steering. Dealer Service Tech says it is water intrusion into the steering rack. Part needs replacement. Dash warning at time of failure only once. I have heard from other owners this is a common problem.
NHTSA complaint 11693680Followup of Case # 11612576 filed 10/04/24. The issue of our UConnect system faulting out has never been resolved after much troubleshooting by the dealership. The system continues to fault out which disables the Automatic Emergency Braking system and the Emergency SOS systems also. This system faults out continually while driving. The safety features are disabled more than enabled according to the indicator lights on the display. My concern is that it disables the safety feature but question if it can also activate the braking when it shouldn't which could cause very erratic and unsafe event.
