NHTSA complaint 11764665COMPLAINT REGARDING MANUFACTURE’S FAILURE TO PROVIDE A TIMELY RECALL REPAIR I am filing a formal complaint against General Motors (Buick) for failing to provide a timely remedy for an active federal safety recall on my 2025 Buick Envista. BACKUP CAMERA, 2025 BUICK ENVISTA. The vehicle is subject to a critical safety recall, but the manufacturer and authorized dealerships have failed to make the necessary replacement parts or software remedies available within a reasonable timeframe. I have contacted the manufacturer and my local dealership, but I have been informed that parts/remedies are unavailable, or I have been given an indefinite timeline for the repair. As a result, I am forced to drive a vehicle with a known, un-remedied safety hazard, posing an immediate risk to myself, my passengers, and others on the road. Under federal law (49 U.S.C. Chapter 301), manufacturers are required to remedy safety defects within a reasonable time after notification. The current delay constitutes a failure to comply with this statutory obligation. I request that NHTSA investigate General Motors' delay in distributing this safety recall remedy and compel the manufacturer to provide an immediate fix, an interim safety solution, or a loaner vehicle until my vehicle can be made safe.
NHTSA complaint 11764284I was driving on a Chicago expressway with my family when the tire pressure light came on, within 3 mins and before we could safely pull over the tire shredded and eventually the entire middle part of the tire came off and we were thankful there was a lot of traffic so we had to slow our speed because the inner part of the tire came off and it rolled to the side of the expressway. This could have been catastrophic if another car on the expressway tried to avoid or hit the rubber part of the tire while they were driving. We had to backup an on ramp because there was no safer alternative. We were able to put on the spare and find a tire shop that was affordable to replace the tire.
NHTSA complaint 11754222To the Vehicle Safety Complaint Division: I am filing a safety complaint regarding brake service performed on a 2025 Buick Envista (VIN: [XXX]) by Suburban Buick GMC of Troy, 1850 W Maple Rd, Troy, MI 48084, an authorized GM dealership. Safety Issue: The vehicle was brought in on XXX with brake pulsation at 20,689 miles. Suburban performed rotor resurfacing on all four rotors and certified the repair as complete and verified on XXX. On XXX — 13 days after Suburban certified the repair — Moran Buick GMC of Sterling Heights found the rear rotors causing the identical brake pulsation symptom. [XXX]'s service advisor determined the rear rotor was rubbing against another component and stated in his professional opinion that Suburban's prior service caused the condition. The corrective repair was processed as a GM warranty claim. Safety Concern: A certified brake repair on a 21,342-mile vehicle failed within days of service. The failure involved the braking system — a safety-critical component. The original service manager dismissed the customer's safety concern by stating failure would depend on "how you drive." Dealer: Suburban Buick GMC of Troy, Registration Number XXX, operated by Lithia Motors, Inc. (NYSE: LAD) Supporting Documentation: Two authorized GM dealer repair orders documenting the failed repair and corrective service are available upon request. I respectfully request confirmation of receipt of this complaint and assignment of a case or reference number. I am available to provide any additional documentation or information required to support this complaint. The complete documentary record, including both repair orders, the independent inspection findings, and the complete correspondence record with Lithia Motors corporate, is attached. Sincerely, [XXX] Authorized Representative for [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] Attachments: — [XXX] v. NHTSA complaint 11750541Since purchasing this unit on 06/14/2025, I have taken this car in for many issues, including the digital dashboard going out multiple times and the AC unit stopping working. I have attached the service history ticket for your records. This unit is deemed to fall apart here shortly. Not even a year old, and the AC has already gone out 3-4 times. Most important is the dashboard that shows speed and other important information I will use to drive.

NHTSA complaint 11708053The vehicle’s infotainment/display screen (center touchscreen system) malfunctions. The screen flickers, freezes, becomes unresponsive, and frequently fails to connect. The malfunction creates a safety concern because the screen controls critical functions such as navigation, rear-view camera display, Bluetooth/phone connectivity, and vehicle settings. When the screen freezes or flickers, I am unable to safely access navigation or hands-free phone features, causing distraction while driving and increasing the risk of an accident. The issue has occurred repeatedly during normal vehicle operation. There were no warning lamps prior to the malfunction. Symptoms include screen flickering, freezing, delayed response, and loss of connectivity. These symptoms began intermittently and have progressively become more frequent over time.
NHTSA complaint 11707154On August 13, 2025, I purchased the 2025 Buick Envista from DeMontrond in Houston, Texas, for $31,000.00, with a down payment of $12,000. The car is a gift to my grandson who recently graduated from college and starting a job at the Emory University Hospital. On September 6, 2025, the car had to be taken to be repaired due to a “fuel filler pipe leaking”. I didn’t expect that a brand-new car would need to be repaired for something that seems to be dangerous. The fuel filler pipe is crucial for the safe and efficient transfer of fuel to the vehicle's tank. It connects the fuel cap to the fuel tank, ensuring that fuel flows properly without spills or leaks. A leaking fuel filler pipe can lead to fuel vapors escaping, which can be dangerous and illegal in most states. It can also cause issues with the vehicle's EVAP system, leading to diagnostic trouble codes related to fuel vapor leaks. I contacted General Motors Consumer Department and sent a letter to Mr. Mark Reuss, President of GM requesting that the vehicle be replaced or the money I paid be refunded. They refused to replace the vehicle or refund the money I had already paid. Through this letter, I am requesting your help to have GM recalled the vehicle and that I am provided with a brand-new and safe replacement or to refund me the money I already paid.
NHTSA complaint 11700774The infotainment system blacks out intermittently. The speakers will go out along with the infotainment. This has happened on several occasions I have pictures that are dated and time stamped. All the lights on the infotainment went out to include the odometer as I was operating the vehicle. I first thought the vehicle cut off then moments later the infotainment turns on and the speakers and odometer is working again. This has happened intermittently on multiple occasions. The vehicle has gone to the dealer 3 times but they are stating they can’t duplicate. So they can not fix it and issue is not resolved.
NHTSA complaint 11700691Window shattered over night
NHTSA complaint 11700021The contact owns a 2025 Buick Envista. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. While driving at an undisclosed speed and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle jerked abnormally before coming to a complete stop. The failure also occurred while attempting to accelerate after stopping at a stop light or a stop sign. The were abnormal grinding sounds intermittently coming from the vehicle while driving at various speeds. The infotainment center also overheated and blacked out intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the sensor was moist after the vehicle had been on the lot for a while. The vehicle was not repaired. The failures persisted. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 700. The VIN was not available.
NHTSA complaint 11687514ON [XXX], (SUNDAY) AFTER DRIVING TO AN EAST LANSING, MI RESTAURANT & SPENDING 1-1/2 HOURS EATING BREAKFAST, I TURNED MY CAR ON AT ABOUT [XXX], AND RECEIVED AN ERROR MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD THAT THE POWER STEERING WAS NOT FUNCTIONING. I TRIED BACKING UP, THEN DRIVING FORWARD 3-4 TIMES & THE ISSUE WAS CONFIRMED. I ALSO TURNED THE CAR OFF & ON SEVERAL TIMES WITH THE SAME ERROR MESSAGE APPEARING. I CALLED ON STAR AND THE DIAGNOSTIC TESTS WERE ALL NEGATIVE FOR ISSUES. MY CALL TO ON STAR GOT DISCONNECTED. I TURNED MY CAR OFF. WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON, THE POWER STEERING WAS WORKING. ON STAR CALLED ME BACK & I REPORTED THAT THE POWER STEERING WAS NOW APPARENTLY WORKING. I THEN DROVE, VERY APPREHENSIVELY, OVER 100 MILES TO MY HOME IN GRAND HAVEN, MI WITH NO PROBLEMS. THIS COULD HAVE PROVED DEADLY IF MY POWER STEERING HAD FAILED DURING THE DRIVE. ON [XXX], (SUNDAY), AT 3:22PM EST, I RECEIVED , IN MY EMAIL, MY SEPTEMBER 'DIAGNOSTIC' REPORT THAT MY ANTILOCK BRAKING SYSTEM HAS AN ALERT THIS MONTH WITH REQUIRES IMMEDIATE ATTENTION. AS OF TODAY, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, I HAVE NOT CONTACTED THE DEALER YET. THIS IS MY 3RD WARRANTY ISSUE SO FAR, MAKING ME EXTREMELY UNSATISFIED (NOT YOUR PROBLEM, I KNOW). MY BACKUP CAMERA CEASED FUNCTIONING & HAD TO BE REPLACED. MY DRIVER SIDE MIRROR GLASS WAS NEVER SEATED PROPERLY AND THE ENTIRE MIRROR IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPLACED. NHTSA complaint 11677439Only had car since March and already had 2 issues. First, I had a check engine light in early May and took it to the shop and the problem was identified as a cracked fuel pipe. Had to wait almost 3 weeks for the park to finally get delivered to the dealership and was able to get fixed on 6/12/25. Then on 7/17/25 check engine light came on again. According to the Buick app, it was coming from my emission/evap system again. Took it the dealership on 7/21/25 and as of 7/27/25 it is still in the shop and they were unable to determine what is causing it. They have reached out to GMC which told them to do a ECU program reset which still didn’t rectify the issue. Already has been in the shop for a week now.
