I recently discovered that Tasca Buick GMC Palm Harbor (located at [XXX]) submitted official paperwork stating they completed a safety recall. However, this work was never performed. My truck was never brought to this dealership, and I have never been to this facility on the date listed in their report Filing a completion record for a safety recall without performing the actual repair is a severe safety hazard and constitutes fraudulent reporting to a federal agency.Desired Resolution:I request that NHTSA investigate Tasca Buick GMC Palm Harbor for fraudulent warranty and recall record filings. I also request that the recall status for my vehicle be reset to "Incomplete" in the national database so I can take it to a trustworthy dealer to get the actual safety repair performed NHTSA Campaign 24V-060 / GM Recall N232426400 (Power-Unlatching Tailgate Switch Replacement) INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
NHTSA complaint 11763584The stereo screen face failed, with warning signs in foreign languages. An inspection was completed and it was confirmed that the module behind the screen attempted to update and burned out. When this system update failed it continued to run power resulting in a dead battery. luckily there was another vehicle around to jump start the vehicle but if someone is out of cell service or doesn't have a jump box serious issues can arise. There are many cases of this happening online with other GMC products. A dealership has confirmed the module burned out. A claim has been filled with GM customer service but no investigations have occurred. Nothing came up until after the battery died and the screen failed after the vehicle was jumped.
NHTSA complaint 11761725I am filing this complaint regarding my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, which has approximately 20,000 miles and has been babied since new. The truck is maintained meticulously and the undercarriage is washed weekly. The brake failures I have experienced are completely unacceptable for a truck with this mileage and maintenance history. Both the FRONT and REAR brake friction material has completely DELAMINATED from the brake components. This is not normal brake wear. The material has separated from the underlying metal, which I believe is a serious material/manufacturing-quality issue. The dealer is now reporting that the rear emergency/parking brake shoes are also defective and require replacement. These components are inside the rear rotor and are not visible during a normal inspection. I strongly dispute any suggestion that this is simply corrosion or abuse. This truck is babied, maintained properly, and the undercarriage is washed every week specifically to prevent buildup and corrosion. At only 20,000 miles, having the front brakes, rear brakes, AND parking-brake shoes fail is completely unacceptable. The brake failures are also part of a disturbing pattern of component failures on this truck. The A/C compressor failed, leaving me without reliable air conditioning and resulting in a SIX-WEEK wait for replacement during the middle of summer. Additionally, only FIVE DAYS after I purchased the truck brand new, it required replacement of the Engine Control Module. This is a 2023 truck with only 20,000 miles. I expect normal wear items to wear normally—not to physically delaminate and fail. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether there is a systemic safety or manufacturing defect involving the brake materials/components used on these trucks. A brake component physically separating from its backing material is a serious safety concern and should not be dismissed as routine maintenance. GM needs to be held accountable for the quality and safety of this
NHTSA complaint 11758375The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the transmission was slipping. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving 60-70 MPH, the vehicle stalled. No warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road. Upon inspection, the contact became aware of a coolant leak underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the turbo coolant inlet had fractured. The part was replaced. Additionally, the dealer determined that the transmission was in working order upon inspection; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 83,000.

The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was lifted and inspected, and the contact was informed that no failure was found. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
NHTSA complaint 11753135Was driving east on i40 between Hinton and calumet when my truck through a check engine light and service parking break. I pulled over it smelt like burning wires I cleared the codes with a code reader and turn the truck on the accessory when smoke filled the cab I got out and the truck was in flames.
NHTSA complaint 11744216The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while driving or while parked, the tailgate unintendedly opened on several occasions. The contact related the failure to the tailgate exterior touchpad switch. The dealer and the manufacturer were contacted and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V060000(LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.
NHTSA complaint 11740033Truck will not release the key consistently upon shutting down the truck. The interlock will not allow it to turn fully off and pull out despite being placed in park.
NHTSA complaint 11736161The entire infotainment system has gone black. Nothing shows on the screen. This is a safety issue as it does not show blind spot monitoring, heads up display, lane change warnings, allow hands free calling, gps, and much more. None of the safety features are available with a trailer hookup as well. We have taken it to a certified Chevrolet dealer who has said the truck was the 6th one that they have placed an order for in just over a week. The infotainment system is currently on back order which makes operating the vehicle concerning with its proper safety features.
NHTSA complaint 11733001Switch fails in shifter assembly that is supposed to sense the vehicle is in park. Does not allow the key to be removed. Dealership explained that complete failure may cause the vehicle to actually get stuck in drive. Very common problem that typically occurs just outside of bumper to bumper warranty. Related to a cheap microswitch but requires $1000 full replacement of the shifter assembly.
NHTSA complaint 11731334The high pressure fuel pump “grenaded” while driving on the interstate. Caused an immediate shutdown and barely got off the main lane to the shoulder in extremely heavy traffic putting me, my wife and others in imminent danger. The components were inspected by the dealer mechanic and insurance adjuster and they said that is what happened and that there was no reason for it to have happened. A warning of reduced power appeared about 3 seconds before the truck completely shutdown.
NHTSA complaint 11727327GM should be ashamed of themselves not covering the shift to park issue that they have created. This is a known issue and should be recalled. It is impacting thousands of consumers.
NHTSA complaint 11724985On February 3, 2026, my vehicle was taken to Rick Hendrick Chevrolet of Buford for diagnosis of a fuel system failure. The dealership charged a $235 diagnostic fee and concluded that the failure was caused by fuel contamination from an outside source. Based on this determination, my warranty claim with General Motors was denied and my case (#89096714) was closed. After this determination, the vehicle was transported to an independent diesel repair shop for further inspection. During the initial inspection, the technician removed the intake cover and discovered a large crack in the fuel injector pump. The pump had catastrophically failed and internally disintegrated, sending metal fragments throughout the fuel system. This clearly indicates the contamination originated from an internal mechanical failure of the fuel injector pump, not from outside fuel contamination. The independent technician confirmed that the injector pump failure caused metal debris to spread throughout the fuel system. Additionally, there was a visible leak at the front of the engine, which should have prompted further inspection in that area during the dealership’s diagnosis. It appears the dealership’s conclusion was based primarily on fuel sampling, without performing a full mechanical inspection of the injection pump and related components.
NHTSA complaint 11724120My key refuses to come out of the ignition caused by a parking sensor is what Chevy told me. I feel it is a safety hazard because I have to leave my truck idling and take the risk of the truck not registering it’s in park and moving on its.
NHTSA complaint 11723995When putting vehicle in park, I get a message on dash that says "shift to park" when the vehicle is already in park. The vehicle electrical components does not turn off. Sometimes if I wiggle/hit or stick my hand under the steering wheel adjustment lever I can get it to turn off. Becoming more troublesome. Through research I see it is a common issue among GM/Chevy vehicles.
NHTSA complaint 11721726Will pulling camper, truck lurched with hard shift at around 35mph and caused a sudden slow down in traffic. Truck then went into limp mode with engine light illuminated. Pulled over to turn vehicle off and restart. Attempted to gain speed again and similar lurch with hard shift at around 35-40mph. Vehicle again in reduced power mode. Was able to ease truck to dealer where code reader showed P0700 and P0747. This was similar to issue found in recall for model years 2020-2022 with GM 10L1000 transmissions. There has been a technical service bulletin issue by GM regarding models years 21-25 but no recall. Dealer has ordered parts for TSB but repair not performed yet.
NHTSA complaint 11717831I am unable to get the keys out of the ignition when shutting off the truck.
NHTSA complaint 11712465While driving, the 10l1000 transmission in the truck attempted to shift from 6th gear to 7th gear. The transmission locked up causing a violent "buck" from the rear end of the truck. The road was icy and could have caused the truck to lose control due to the lock up of the rear wheels. After getting the truck to a repair shop, valve body was deemed the cause of the failure. A complete transmission replacement is needed. Had I lost control of the vehicle due to the lock up, my family and other motorists would have been put at risk of severe injury or worse. No warning lights were illuminated prior to failure.
NHTSA complaint 11710432tramsmission valve body failed causing lack of porpulsion and inability to put the pickup in park while in traffic. after coasting to the nearest chevy dealer they cleared the codes so i could drive home and take it to my local chevy dealer asap. the local chevy dealer refused to inspect it until the check engine light came back. one week later the transmission violentley down shifted into 5th gear and stayed there until it was shut off it would not go into park. on the second occurances it gave codes p0700 and p0747. it was towed to the local chevy dealer who claimed to inspect on 3 ocassions but efused to give me any paper work on the results of the inspection. beacuse they never inspected it. i took it to an indepent mechanic to replace the valve body. the 5000 miles since the valve body replacement have been uneventful. no indicators of failure were seen before the inital failure.
NHTSA complaint 11693493The hood latch broke off mid drive on the freeway and my hood came up and then slammed down, came up again and went flying across the freeway.
NHTSA complaint 11688146Technical service bulletins and other notices the manufacturer sent to dealers. A bulletin is not a recall; the 60 most recent are listed.
