Was driving down the road when a series of alerts started popping up on my instrument panel and lost braking ability. The following alerts occurred in the specific order. Parking brake service limited, Brake system failure alert, service advancedtrac. Braking Pedal went to the floor, I continued to stomp on the brake pedal and pump, trying to get a response. The braking system never responded and I eventually came to a rest. My safety as well as any drivers around me was put at risk. The vehicle has not been inspected by dealer as the incident just occured. I inspected the brake fluid level and for any obvious signs of brake failure. The mechanical aspects of the braking system were in working order(fluid level good, pads, rotors all in working order. I turned the truck off and back on and all the alerts subsided and the braking system worked as normal. I drove the truck home 1/2 mile with no issues after the brake failure. I am mechanically inclined, and would have to say this looks to be an electrical or communication failure within the vehicles computer system. There are no alerts or check engine lights on my truck after the incident. In the past my truck stores alerts in the app of anything that comes across the instrument cluster. I find it odd that there is no check engine light or alert to prevent someone from driving the vehicle after such an event, in turn creating another safety risk.
NHTSA complaint 11767506While parking, the truck accelerated on it own. The vehicle jumped over the parking cement stop.
NHTSA complaint 11767051I believe whats happening is - The transmission is downshifting too early, and applying a significant and random amount of braking resistance. This braking goes off and on at random. It prevents the driver from braking in a controlled manner, as this random and unpredictable additional braking caused by - i think - the transmission is constantly changing. Therefore sometime my truck will randomly and suddenly slow down, then accelerate. As a driver, I am always trying to match the trucks random braking, and brake calmly. Its impossible to do. This has caused me to nearly rear end people at stop lights, Fly out of my lane and into oncoming traffic while turning, or other people nearly rear end me. It is hard to explain exactly whats happening, but imagine a second person stepping on and off the brakes, at random times, and trying to drive normally with this extra braking. Also, the E brake turns itself on at random times and will remain locked up and catches fire. Thats happened a few times The tailgate also doesnt latch properly and will come open while driving. I have had it at the dealer for service 4 seperate times, but since there are no codes, they have yet to fix anything. I refuse to drive it anymore
NHTSA complaint 11766228The contact owns a 2025 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle and shifting into gear, the adaptive cruise control mode independently activated and set the speed to 15 MPH. The message "Cruise Control Activated" was displayed with the set speed. The contact stated that the failure occurred approximately six times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times, but the failure was not duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.
NHTSA complaint 11765244Adaptive Cruise Control and/or Camera System misreads speed limit signs. 1. System misreads speed limit signs by acquiring information from State Route sign. Example: SR248, Speed Limit 55mph, SR248 marker 20, Reads it as 20mph. Example: SR2004, Speed Limit 45mph, SR2004 marker 60 and 70, reads it as 70mph. 2. System misreads Truck Speed Limit Signs as vehicle Speed Limit. The problem occurs when both Speed Limit and SR signs are in close proximity to each other. Vehicle is available. The system if engaged, has the potential to accelerate or decelerate as much as 35mph in these examples, causing potential loss of control because of rapid acceleration or deceleration. The vehicle has been at the dealer twice and they have not been able to replicate. They may not have been able to replicate because of sign placing in their area. Under these conditions, the Adaptive Cruise Control is a safety hazard. I have it disengaged and is useless.
NHTSA complaint 11760105Subject: Formal Customer Complaint – 2025 Ford F-150 Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power I am requesting that Ford Motor Company open a formal Customer Relationship Center case concerning an unresolved powertrain malfunction affecting my 2025 Ford F-150. Vehicle: 2025 Ford F-150 VIN: [XXX] Mileage: Approximately 19,215 miles Servicing Dealer: Gary Yeomans Ford, Daytona Beach, Florida On XXX my Ford mobile application generated an “Action needed” vehicle health alert stating: “Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power.” My vehicle is also displaying an illuminated wrench warning and a “Service Engine Soon” message. The Ford application continues to show the Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power condition and states that service is recommended. I contacted Gary Yeomans Ford regarding the condition. I was informed that a part necessary to repair the problem is on national backorder. However, I have not been provided with the diagnostic trouble codes, exact diagnosis, failed component, Ford part number, estimated part availability, estimated repair date, or written confirmation regarding whether Ford considers the vehicle safe to continue operating while this condition remains unresolved. At this time, I have not experienced an actual loss of power, stalling, abnormal shifting, accident, or other drivability event. Nevertheless, I am concerned about continuing to operate a vehicle that Ford’s own system identifies as having a “Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power” condition while the repair remains unavailable. I am requesting that Ford: 1. Open a formal Customer Relationship Center case and provide me with the case number. 2. Obtain the complete diagnosis and diagnostic trouble codes from Gary Yeomans Ford. 3. Provide the name and part number of the failed component. 4. Confirm the warranty coverage for this repair. 5. Escalate the nationally backordered replacement part. 6. Provide an estimated part availability and repair date. 7. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA),
NHTSA complaint 11756713I am writing to inform you that I have received my 2025 Ford F-150 back from the Steivers Ford dealership in Union City after the reported repairs were completed. Unfortunately, the vehicle still has a severe shake and vibration while driving. In fact, the condition is now worse than it was when I originally brought the vehicle in for service. After being without my truck for an extended period while repairs were performed, I am extremely disappointed that the underlying issue has not been resolved. This ongoing defect continues to affect the drivability of the vehicle and has significantly impacted my confidence in its safety and reliability. At this point, I would like to understand what Ford’s next steps are to permanently resolve this issue. Multiple repair attempts have not corrected the problem, and I do not believe it is reasonable to continue experiencing the same—or worse—condition after such extensive repairs. Please contact me as soon as possible to discuss how Ford intends to move forward. I am looking for a prompt and lasting resolution.
NHTSA complaint 11749761I'm not sure what failed but a Google search with symptoms tells me it's a "throttle-by-wire" malfunction. The F150 truck accelerates immediately and aggresively to full throttle when I floor the gas peddle to merge traffic on freeways. It continues at full throttle regardless what I do. Braking gives a pop up window on the dash that reads "Brake Applied Power Reduced", and the brakes do slow the vehicle and even stop it but the engine revs at full throttle. This occurred the day I bought it driving home from dealership, testing it, I floored the gas peddle while on the freeway to see how it performs accelerating while passing other vehicles. It took over that day, I thought it had somehow activated Cruise Control being a new vehicle and me unfamiliar with operations, I would figure that out later and forgot. I pulled over that day, killed engine, restarted and it was fine. It repeated this malfunction two maybe three other times since that first day. Yesterday, XXX, would be the third or fouth time it has occurred and it wouldn't correct. I pulled over three times, put it in Park and it reved full throttle, killed it, waited two minutes, restarted and it went to full throttle. It is parked in my driveway and will accelerate to full throttel immediately even in Park. I am going to have it towed this morning, XXX to Brinson Ford in [XXX]. Therefore, a dealer has yet to look at it or try and reproduce problem. The first occurrence was the day I bought it which was September 12, 2025. NHTSA complaint 11749740While driving the vehicle, the rear glass spontaneously shattered. There was no impact, damage, or misuse. This was all confirmed by the dealership following the incident.
NHTSA complaint 11749519Got into the Truck on Thursday 7/2/26. When I shut my door I heard what sounded like something falling out of the bed of the truck. When I got out to investigate I realized the back glass of the truck had shattered and was laying in the bed of the truck. There was no indication of vandalism, the glass had pushed out from the inside, apparently related to the recent high heat in my area. i parked the truck on 6/30 and the morning of 7/2 was when i found the shattered rear glass.
NHTSA complaint 11748436issues with my 2025 f150 tremor when I applied my brakes firmly, really not that hard ( not hard enough to skid) my truck locked into park and I wasn’t even able to put it back into a gear with a flashing message! Couldn’t get it back into gear for about 30 sec to 60 sec until a message stopped flashing. Had this happened in traffic or on a freeway this could have been really bad especially in traffic. Very dangerous!
NHTSA complaint 11747019the instrument panel cluster flickered and flashed for months consistently after the recall repair was complete then failed just outside of bumper to bumper warranty. yes its available for inspection. When failure occurred the turn signals wipers and collision safety systems all stopped working simultaneously. The vehicle is at the dealer and has been confirmed. The component is still in the vehicle. no warning lamps symptoms have been present for the entire 1 year of ownership but became more predominate after recall software update.
NHTSA complaint 11746898Description Vehicle emissions control information veci label updateDescription On your vehicle, the integrated park module ipm may not properly engage the park pawl, preventing the vehicle from locking into park when park p is selected. If this condition occurs, a wrench light and shift system fault message will be displayed in the instrument panel cluster. Additionally, the vehicles electronic parking brake epb will automatically apply. Safety Risk If the park pawl is not properly engaged and the electronic parking brake epb is not applied, your vehicle may experience a roll-in-park, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA complaint 11744279My F150 lost all power while driving as my wife was approaching a stop sign on XXX. Everything in the truck failed to work. When the power went out all safety devices: 4-way hazards, parking brake, brakes, airbags, steering etc... were inoperable. The truck was towed to a Ford Dealer Garage in Manteno, Illinois about 150 miles from my home. The ford garage replaced the RL3Z-14A068-G Ford Panel Assembly-Fuse Junction Panel. The truck was in the shop for 7 days. I was never informed of the reason this junction panel assemble failed. This same truck was in the shop from May 27 - July 3, 2025 for a wiring harness concern with only 1,200. At first, they were going to replace the entire wiring harness, but eventually they repaired a loose pin. My truck has been in the shop for 45 days since purchasing it on April 18, 2025. My outstanding questions: Are the wiring harness and the panel assembly issues connected? Is it safe to drive my truck? I drove it home from 150 miles away from the breakdown. Since then, I have only driven it a few miles locally. My wife is hesitant to ride in the truck after the experience. I contacted Ford on June 4/5 and they connected me with the Ford service manager at Dixon Ford, in [XXX]. I asked that a Ford Service Engineer inspect the truck to trace any ghost resistance. He indicated that they were unable to perform this task at his place of service. The main concern I have: Is my truck safe to drive? We had initially discussed taking the truck on our 10-day trip to the Rocky Mountains, but opted for my wife's Highlander. Imagine if this failure occurred in the Rocky Mountains? NHTSA complaint 11744155My vehicle does not appear on the recall list for repair concerning Trailer lighting module fault. Trailer was tested on 5 other vehicles within our neighborhood and worked perfectly. Addressed issue with ford dealership and was told vehicle was not on recall list, yet the error is there. It appears the vehicle needs the updated software ford has issued but dealership refused to issue repair. Vehicle is still under warranty.
NHTSA complaint 11742558The gear shifter was stuck in the folded down position. Pushing the button to raise it back up did nothing.
NHTSA complaint 11741217THIS CONCERN HAS A TRACKING NUMBER FROM NHTSA #XXX. THIS 2025 FORD F 150 [VIN [XXX] ] HAD NO ISSUSES WITH A MESSAGE THAT STATES REVERSE BRAKE ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE SEE MANUAL SHOWING ON THE DASH DISPLAY UNTIL AFTER THE REQUIRED UPDATE FOR THE DASH AND THE BOSCH BRAKE MODULE WAS INSTALLED. IT HAS BEEN TO 2 DEALERS FOR THIS ISSUE MULTIPLE TIMES FROM OCT 25 - APRIL 26. THE SECOND DEALER FOUND THE SAME THING, MESSAGE APPEARS WITH NO CODES SET, THEY HAVE ALIGNED CAMERAS AND THE MESSAGE STILL COMES BACK ON. THIS BEING A BIG SAFETY ITEM TO SAVE BACKING INCEDENTS YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD FIND OUT WAT IS CAUSING THE ISSUE, BUT NO FORD TELLS THE DEALER TO TELL THE OWNER IT'S NORMAL. I DON'T BELIEVE IT IS, IT'S INSTALLED AND ADVERTISED AS A SAFETY FEATURE AND IF YOU READ UP ABOUT THIS PROBLEM THERE ARE A LOT OF THESE TRUCKS WITH THIS ISSUE AND FORD DON'T WANT TO ACKNOLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND FIX IT. I WOULD HOPE YOU WOULD ENTICE FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO GET OFF THERE XXX AND TAKE CARE OF THIS. FORD CUSTOMER COMPLAINT TOLD ME THAT THEY SHOWED 1 RO ON FILE FROME THE PREVIOUS DEALER AND I HAD FOUR AS THEY HAD BILLED 4 UNDER SERVICE CONTRACT FOR MAINTAINCE NOT THE CONCERN, I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE SECOND DEALER BUT THEY HAVE TRIED UNTILL FORD SAID IT'S NORMAL. I HOPE HEAR SOMETHING BACK ON THIS. THANK YOU INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
NHTSA complaint 11740802While parked in my driveway, the rear window exploded/shattered. I had local Ford rep come look at it, take pictures and submit to Ford for warranty coverage. The vehicle was purchased in January 2025 and has 28,888 miles - so still under warranty. Ford has denied warranty coverage. I believe this to be a safety issue and am reporting it.
NHTSA complaint 11740665The contact owns a 2025 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V512000 (POWER TRAIN) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were available. The contact made three separate appointments with the dealer and each time the contact was informed that parts remained on backorder. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue but had yet to receive a response. The contact had not experienced a failure.
