NHTSA complaint 11759923Vehicle loss of power on the Interstate at a high rate of speed. Vehicle would not start and could not be put in Neutral to safely remove from road.
NHTSA complaint 11758878The progressive failure of the factory steering wheel adhesive on my 2025 GMC Yukon creates an immediate, active safety hazard during vehicle operation. The material failure and sticky glue are localized directly around the integrated heating element of the steering wheel. This failure severely impacts driving maneuvers as well as a potential electrical fire hazard. The liquefied glue residue is incredibly sticky and continually transfers to the driver’s hands, resulting in a compromised, slippery grip on the steering wheel. During active driving maneuvers, such as hand-over-hand turning, navigating sharp curves, the loose edges of the peeling leather and separating trim physically catch on the driver's palms. This restricts smooth wheel rotation, disrupts natural hand movement, and threatens a sudden, temporary loss of steering control. This manufacturing defect introduces severe driver distraction and physical interference with critical steering components while driving, compounded by a potential thermal or electrical defect in the steering wheel heating assembly.
NHTSA complaint 11754669GM performed a vehicle wide Over the Air reprogramming of the modules incorporated in the VIP/Global B electronics platform in April, 2026. Following that my vehicle became totally dead. Key fob would not unlock the vehicle. Had to use the metal key, open the drivers door. Opened the door, nothing moved. No lights, no movement from anything on the vehicle. Opened the hood, charged the battery and tried to crank it. Would not budge. Starter would not engage. Disconnected the negative battery cable. Tried again. Still would not budge. After an hour of so of trying and using jumper cables from our other vehicle, still would not budge. I disconnected the negative battery cable from the right front fender ground and reattached it. It then cranked. Drove the vehicle 30 miles at interstate speed. 8 miles in city traffic. Drove home and parked it in the garage. Drove it abput 10-12 days later to get breakfast. Parked it, locked it with the key fob. Came back after getting food, key fob would not work. Opened it with the button on the door handle. Got In tried to crank it. Would not budge. Disconnected the negative battery cable twice, before it cranked, but would not drive. Message in dash said vehicle could not be driven. Finally got it cranked. GM never advised that the battery must have a 70% charge at all times for the electronics to work. Owner's manual contains no such statement. Vehicle is defective to the extent that it will leave me stranded in wherever the battery power is less than 70%. Dangerous to get stranded at night on a lonely road or highway, away from cities with tow trucks and competent service personnel. Vehicle in shop 32 days before dealer advised resolution. Modules bricked requiring engine control module and telematics module replacement.
NHTSA complaint 11754040The contact owns a 2025 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while the vehicle was shifted into reverse, the rear-view camera displayed a black screen. The image in the rear-view camera was not visible, specifically in areas where there were reflective lights. The dealer was contacted and assisted the contact with the brightness options on the rear-view camera and stated there was no failure with the camera. The camera was not repaired or replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 16.
NHTSA complaint 11753795On multiple occasions the center screen has been non operational when we start the car and just shows a black screen. The volume knob and screen power button are non-responsive. When this occurs the backup camera is inoperable, which is mandatory safety equipment. the HVAC also cannot be adjusted which could cause a windshield fogging condition which is a safety concern. The vehicle has been to the dealer 3 times for screen problems and the issue has not been resolved. When this occurs the problem persists for a few ignition cycles or for up to a couple of days and then will start functioning again. We have not been able to determine any specific condition that is causing the failure.
NHTSA complaint 11745319Just over 6k miles, engine failure.
NHTSA complaint 11737169The engine has seized and was replaced
NHTSA complaint 11735631My engine completely failed on March 19, 2026 and it is currently at Sterling GMC in Bryan Texas waiting for a backorder engine as it needs to be completely replaced
NHTSA complaint 11729983My 2025 GMC Yukon's infotainment system has repeatedly failed. The huge center screen frequently goes black upon starting the car. Once the screen goes black you are unable to control literally dozens of the vehicle's features including but not limited to climate controls, safety features, heated/ventilated seats, gps, lane assist, the radio, no backup camera, etc. When the screen blacks out, the vehicle automatically turns the heat on to 76 degrees every single time and blows hot air from the front windshield defogger vents only. The list of features controlled by the touch screen is quite enormous. I have taken the vehicle to the GMC dealer four (4) times for software updates, none of which solved the problem and they have admitted they have no fix for this issue. The issue is widespread, as I have encountered literally hundreds of owners online like myself dealing with the very same problem; brand new cars that just do not work. GMC has done absolutely nothing to get to the bottom of this.
NHTSA complaint 11726887Engine failure while driving at 60mph that started with a loud knocking sound to eventual engine failure where it wouldnt turn over. Vehicle has 9600 miles and has had issues since day one of leaving lot requiring fuel injector, intake manifold gasket, lifter and rod with last fix being new coil and spark plug that supposedly fixed issue. The most recent engine failure put my family and kids in danager given 100 degree weather in middle of desert on a small highway with very limited cell service. Vehicle provided no warning lights. Vehicle was towed to dealership and I have not received an update. Vehicle has not been inspected by polive or insurance or others.

NHTSA complaint 11724693Vehicle went into limp mode while driving on the highway. Onstar said it was the transmission. Checked the oil and smoke was billowing out of the dip stick and there was no oil. None of the sensors indicated that there was low oil. After sitting and waiting for a tow truck rechecked the oil with the dipstick and there was oil in it. Now requires a new engine.
