The contact owns a 2019 Harley Davidson FLDE. The contact stated that while riding on a main road at 80 MPH, the motorcycle lost automotive power. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact immediately pulled over and upon inspection, the contact noticed that the oil tank was empty; however, shortly afterwards, oil drained back into the oil tank, and the motorcycle displayed erratic oil level reading. The motorcycle was taken to the residence and was then picked up by the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was advised that the oil pump and the cam plate were faulty and needed to be replaced. The motorcycle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 39,000.
