Steering wheel has a glitch when turning right are left sometimes the lane assistance turns on by itself which is very dangerous
NHTSA complaint 11768115Shattered glass sunroof.Sunroof glass exploded while driving.
NHTSA complaint 11767665Winshield cracked while parked due to heat stress. Visibility impaired by crack. Problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. Vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were not any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.
NHTSA complaint 11767652Driving on road with a number of left curves on September 24, 2026. While making the turns, with no driver input, the steering wheel jerked 2-3 times a few inches to the right . Noticed the steering wheel jerking to the right before, but not as severe. I currently own a 2020 Honda CRV and have had other CRVs and never had a steering problem such as this. There is obviously a defect in the manufacture of the steering system on this 2025 Honda CRV. We are currently afraid to take this CRV long distances as it is unreliable and most likely dangerous. We’ve made an appointment at a Honda dealership to have the problem identified (and hopefully addressed). If not, thinking about getting rid of it.
NHTSA complaint 11766887My 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid (VIN: [XXX]) has an open Product Update campaign for the PGM-FI Software Update (coolant pump/overheating risk). An authorized Honda dealership (Herb Chambers) refused to perform this software update, instructing me to return to the selling dealer. The vehicle has experienced repeated engine overheating warnings and significant coolant loss. This refusal to perform a safety campaign leaves the vehicle at risk of engine damage and potential safety hazard. NHTSA complaint 11766851I am filing this complaint regarding the sunroof glass on my 2025 Honda CR-V, VIN [XXX]. On XXX, while I was driving on the interstate at highway speed, I heard a loud pop/combustion-like sound. I immediately pulled over and discovered that the sunroof glass had shattered and fallen inward into the vehicle. I did not see any object, rock, or debris strike the sunroof before it shattered. There was no known impact that I could identify. The glass appeared to fail suddenly while the vehicle was being driven. I am concerned because a sunroof unexpectedly shattering while traveling at highway speed could create a safety hazard for the driver and passengers and could cause the driver to become startled or lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle had approximately 27,875 miles at the time of the incident. The vehicle’s in-service date was XXX. I contacted Honda regarding the damage, but the warranty claim for the window/sunroof glass was denied. I am requesting that NHTSA document this incident and review whether there is a potential safety defect involving sunroof glass on 2025 Honda CR-V vehicles. I have photographs of the shattered sunroof and can provide additional documentation regarding the vehicle, Honda’s warranty determination, and the incident if requested. I am aware of other reports involving 2025 Honda CR-V sunroofs shattering unexpectedly, which is another reason I believe this incident should be documented and reviewed. NHTSA complaint 11766479While driving on a highway, the vehicle suddenly lost power and could no longer maintain highway speed. It entered a reduced power mode, flashed multiple errors, and was pulled over to the shoulder and stopped. My pregnant wife, who was in the car by herself, was then stuck in a hot car on a dangerous elevated spot on a highway with high-speed traffic close by and on a limited shoulder. It had to be towed to a dealership. The dealership diagnosed a misfire in cylinder 2. The technician removed the spark plugs and found them fouled with oil, primarily one plug. Using a borescope, the technician inspected all cylinders and found a crack across the piston in cylinder 2. A head gasket failure was initially suspected but was ruled out. The oil was drained and inspected, and no metal debris was found in the drain pan. The failure was confirmed by the dealership, and a warranty claim was submitted to and approved by the manufacturer. The approved repair covers replacement of the piston, rings, rod bearing, and head gasket for cylinder 2 only, rather than the short block originally recommended by the technician. The dealership stated that root cause cannot be determined without engineering analysis of the damaged parts, which are to be sent to the manufacturer for review after the repair is complete. The damaged components are available for inspection. The vehicle had approximately 16,000 miles at the time of failure and was purchased new approximately 15 months prior. Complete loss of engine power and the inability to maintain speed in highway traffic created a substantial risk of being struck from behind.
NHTSA complaint 11764767Driving on main road (not highway), no rain or other adverse conditions. Automatic Braking System unexpectedly engaged (hard brake). There was no reason for this to happen and could have caused a serious accident if we had been on the highway. Why is there not a recall? I have seen several complaints online at [XXX] for this same year & model. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
NHTSA complaint 11764740The factory hood anti-flutter adhesive (NVH mastic) separating the inner hood support frame from the outer sheet metal skin has failed and unbonded. As a result, the outer hood skin flexes, vibrates, and flutters severely at highway speeds, creating a distraction and posing a potential risk of structural latch or hood fatigue failure over time.
NHTSA complaint 11763699I am reporting a severe factory design defect regarding water intrusion into the EVAP emissions system on my 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid (VIN: [XXX]) After driving home in a normal rainstorm, the vehicle threw diagnostic trouble code P24C0 (EVAP system leak detection pump switching valve stuck ON). The authorized Honda dealership diagnosed the issue as "water intrusion" and charged me an out-of-pocket fee. The dealer's official service invoice explicitly states that the water intrusion occurred from "driving through a puddle." Driving through a standard road puddle or driving in a rainstorm constitutes standard, expected, and necessary vehicle operation. The EVAP canister is a federally mandated emissions component that must legally remain sealed against atmospheric leaks. Because normal road moisture can bypass factory shielding and flood or damage this critical component, it represents a clear engineering and manufacturing defect in sealing and part placement, rather than owner negligence. Honda is systematically denying factory warranty coverage to owners for this specific issue by labeling normal road rain as "outside environmental damage." This leaves drivers facing thousands of dollars in unfair repair bills for a design vulnerability. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this systemic issue to force a formal safety recall or Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) ensuring retroactive reimbursement and a corrected undercarriage shield design. NHTSA complaint 11761996the CMBS, auto braking system is engaging and BRAKING my car for no reason. For example, driving 70mph on turnpike, it engaged on a dry road, clear day with no other cars or items in front of me. VERY dangerous. vehicles behind me could have crashed into me. happened at least 2 more times on 35/40mph with NOTHING on road. the only thing i can do is disengage it EVERY single time i start the engine. Took to my Moon Township dealer who said it can happen and sent me home. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
NHTSA complaint 11761801The contact owns a 2025 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed in cold weather, the windshield wiper was activated, but the windshield wiper fluid failed to disperse and the windshield wiper failed to engage immediately. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and a second dealer, Hamilton Honda (655 US-130, Hamilton Township, NJ 08691); however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact sent a letter to the manufacturer to notify them of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
NHTSA complaint 11761270The contact owns a 2025 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brakes independently activated, and the vehicle stopped. The driver's and steering wheel air bags unexpectedly deployed. In addition, the contact stated that there was no impact to the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000.
NHTSA complaint 11761106I brought my Honda CR-V Hybrid to Brad Deery Honda on April 11, 2025, to have the steering gearbox worm gear recall inspected. At that time, I was told everything was fine. Unfortunately, I am now experiencing steering issues. When I turn the steering wheel, I hear clicking noises, and the steering does not feel smooth. I scheduled an appointment online on Friday, August 21, 2026, for September 4, 2026, to have my oil changed and the steering gearbox worm gear reinspected. Today, August 24, 2026, at approximately 2:50 p.m., I called Brad Deery Honda and spoke with Victor in the Service Department to confirm my appointment and make sure these concerns would be addressed. He asked about the steering problems, although I had already provided that information when scheduling online. He stated that they could not see the notes I submitted and informed me that I would be charged a diagnostic fee. My vehicle is still under warranty, and I am concerned about being charged a diagnostic fee for an issue related to a previously inspected recall. If the steering recall had been properly addressed when I originally brought the vehicle in, I should not be experiencing these issues now. I am requesting that the steering gearbox worm gear and my current steering concerns be addressed. I don't want to be charged for something that is still an issue from a recall. The purchase date of this vehicle is 10/05/2024
