Poor Design to Door handles that melt in heat and you cannot enter the car except through the hatch! This should be a voluntary recall where Honda pays for the repairs to door handles that melt on the 2015 Honda CRZ as a known issue. The known issue states extreme cold also causes the plastics to become brittle and break. Honda dealership wants in excess of $1000 to "diagnose" the known problem and repair. The replacement parts are after market and cost $23.00 per door plus shipping. Honda should cover this cost!
NHTSA complaint 11767427The airbag light started coming on somewhere (approx) around 100K miles. I noticed that MANY hondas had takata airbags and were recalled. My airbag is also sourced from takata and I'm concerned for my safety and wondered if my car was overlooked because CR-Z models had very low volume of production. I wanted to check. I cannot financially replace this as the cost exceeds the value of the car, but it runs great and I need it for commuting. PLEASE double-check as my hunch is that my car was overlooked when assessing the takata air bag disaster. Thank you for your time and consideration.
NHTSA complaint 11702956In 2010 to 2016 Honda CR-Zs the exterior door handles will fail without any symptoms. Leaving the driver unable to unlatch the door without being inside. The problem has not been addressed by Honda, but many owners have reported it being a common problem. The door handle latch tends to break under hot or cold environments and under light to heavy stress when attempting to open the door
NHTSA complaint 11474393BACK IN NOVEMBER OF 2016 I HAD AN ACCIDENT, WHICH I BELIEVE WAS CAUSED BY A MALFUNCTION IN THE CAR. RIGHT BEFORE LOOSING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE MY TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT FLASHED RAPIDLY ON THE DASH CAUSING MY CAR TO JOLT AND LOOSE TRACTION. I HAD SPUN AND HIT HEAD ON TO THE SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN. A FEW MORE FEET TO THE LEFT AND I WOULD'VE FLEW OFF THE MOUNTAIN. I THEN HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY READ ALL THE CODES ON MY CAR TO SEE IF IT REALLY WAS A CAR MALFUNCTION. THE 2 CODES THAT BROUGHT CONCERN TO ME WHERE THE ( 61-1 BATTERY VOLTAGE LOW & 25-1 YAW RATE SENSOR MALFUNCTION) BUT HONDA WAS UNSURE IF THESE CODES WHERE CAUSED BY THE ACCIDENT, BUT I KNEW IT WAS WHAT HAD CAUSED MY ACCIDENT. JUST AS A REMINDER I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW FOR THE VERY REASON BEING I WANTED TO KNOW IT WAS TAKEN CARE OF I DIDN'T WANT A USED CAR WITH PROBLEMS. SO MY CAR ENDED UP BEING FIXED BY MY INSURANCE AND IT TOOK A TOTAL OF 3 MONTHS BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO GET IT BACK! BECAUSE HONDA WAS WAITING ON A WIRE HARNESS TO BE DELIVERED. THEN ONCE I GET MY CAR BACK IN FEBRUARY OF 2017 IT RUNS SMOOTHLY AS IF IT WAS A BRAND NEW CAR I WAS SO EXCITED TO FINALLY HAVE MY CAR BACK! LITTLE TO KNOW THAT 2 MONTHS LATER AT THE END OF MARCH BEGINNING OF APRIL I WOULD HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT DOESN'T JUST FLASH RAPIDLY AND MAKE MY CARS FRONT TIRES SKID AND MY CAR JOLT WHILE I'M DRIVING BUT ALSO WHEN I START FROM A COMPLETE STOP. I'VE ALSO NOTICED THAT I ONLY HAVE THIS PROBLEM WHILE DOING A LEFT TURN OR MANEUVER LEFT. ON APRIL 3RD 2017 I TAKE MY CAR BACK IN TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP 20 MINUTES AFTER MY CAR DOES IT AGAIN! I HAD THEM READ THE CODES ONE MORE TIME AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW THE SAME 2 CODES POP UP AGAIN! 61-1 BATTERY VOLTAGE LOW & 25-1 YAW RATE SENSOR. ALL HONDA DID WAS CLEAR THE CODE AND RELEARN THE SENSOR. I FEAR FOR MY LIFE!

NHTSA complaint 10933488JUST BOUGHT A HONDA CRV-TOURING, VIBRATIONS HAVE STARTED AROUND 600 MILES, WHEN IN A STOPED POSITION, IN DRIVE, AFTER IT HAS HEATED UP, BOUGHT THIS BECAUSE WE NEEDED A SMOOTH RIDE (WHICH SEEMED AT FIRST DRIVE), VIBRATIONS AGGRAVATE MY SPASTICITY, AND CAN CAUSE SEIZURES IN SOME PEOPLE. DO NOT KNOW IF IT IS FROM ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION,, AND IT COMES UP THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL.
NHTSA complaint 10787021Technical service bulletins and other notices the manufacturer sent to dealers. A bulletin is not a recall.
