The egr cooler is not recalled for my year but my truck was doin the same thing. The car still has a burning oil smell when the heat is on and the air don’t work
NHTSA complaint 11767961Recall 20V-475 / 23V-411 software patch was performed, but the underlying magnetic tone wheel defect has now physically failed, causing an active crankshaft position sensor error and stall hazard. While traveling 60mph the car stalled and went into limp mode with no prior warning. The vehicle has been diagnosed at a repair shop as a fault with the crankshaft position sensor performance which was apart of a pervious recall listed above. The vehicle has not been inspected by any others at this time as its not safe to drive and do not want out of pocket cost to do so.
NHTSA complaint 11767448The Active Head Restraint (AHR) deployed without a collision while I was slowing to a traffic signal. My vehicle was travelling approximately 5-7mph and slowing to a traffic signal when the Active Head Rest deployed, launching my head and trunk forward to the steering wheel. The Jeep Service Representative informed me that this is a well-known issue and the NHTSA closed the investigation without ordering a recall. (PE19014, opened 2019) The failure mechanism is reported to be mechanical as the AHR relies on a plastic bracket holding a metal rod that connects to hooks meant to trigger only in a rear-end crash, and that plastic simply fails under prolonged tension over time with no warning signs beforehand.
NHTSA complaint 11766818I own a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit 4x4 with the 3.0L EcoDiesel, with approximately 113,170 miles. The vehicle has experienced multiple intermittent episodes of “Service Electronic Throttle Control.” During the most recent episode, the vehicle briefly jerked/lurched forward and then experienced a significant loss of engine power/boost. I scanned the vehicle and found DTC P0336 (Crankshaft Position Sensor A Performance, intermittent). Clearing the code temporarily restored normal operation, but the fault later returned. During the most recent recurrence, the engine also cranked noticeably longer than normal before starting. FCA previously issued safety recall W79 concerning loss of crankshaft-position signal on these vehicles. The recall involved a software update intended to maintain engine operation using the camshaft signal if the crankshaft signal is lost. FCA also lists warranty extension X95 concerning the 3.0L diesel crankshaft tone wheel. FCA technical documentation identifies P0336 as a possible symptom associated with crankshaft tone-wheel magnetic material failure. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by a dealer or independent shop to confirm the physical cause. I have stopped driving it because I am concerned that an intermittent crankshaft-position problem could result in unexpected loss of motive power, engine stalling, or inability to restart. I contacted FCA Customer Care regarding this issue. FCA has indicated that the applicable warranty extension has expired and has not agreed to assist with the repair. I am currently using a rental vehicle while the Jeep is out of service. I am requesting that NHTSA document and review this suspected safety issue. The physical tone wheel has not yet been confirmed as failed, but the symptoms and P0336 code appear consistent with the failure mode described in FCA’s documentation.
NHTSA complaint 11766732My power lift gate closed unexpectedly and at a pace faster than usual. The lift gate came down on my head and compressed my neck. I have not tried the power lift gate again for fear of it breaking and not being able to be closed. The power lift gate has been sticking shut and not opening some times.
NHTSA complaint 11765650I was driving home on the freeway from picking my kids up from school and all the sudden there was a loud crashing noise and my head was slammed forward and when I looked back to calm down my kids, I see that the headrest had just snapped and pushed forward, slamming me in the head
NHTSA complaint 11765124The passenger seat belt does not retract. Also my passenger head rest just came out 1 day.
NHTSA complaint 11759682Car was parked. When I returned the passenger head rest had popped. No accident.
NHTSA complaint 11758903The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH to a park with her children inside the vehicle, the head restraint suddenly exploded without warning or impact. The head restraint was protruding approximately three to four inches. The contact sustained nerve issues involving the arm but had not sought medical attention. The contact consulted with an attorney. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 120,500.
NHTSA complaint 11757684While driving home from the gym with my daughter in the front passenger seat, we were traveling less than 40 mph under normal driving conditions. Without warning, I heard a very loud pop/bang from inside the vehicle. We had not been in a collision, had not hit anything, and nothing had struck the vehicle. I immediately looked over and saw my daughter crouched down in her seat holding her neck. At first, I could not determine what had happened. I then noticed that the front passenger-side Active Head Restraint (AHR)/headrest had suddenly deployed or come apart and had struck her from behind. There were no warning lights, messages, alerts, or other symptoms before the incident. The deployment occurred suddenly and without any apparent event that should have triggered this safety system. My daughter sustained a neck injury as a result of the unexpected deployment and was taken to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. She was placed in a neck brace and had to wear it for approximately one week. The incident also created a safety risk while the vehicle was in motion. The sudden loud bang and my daughter's immediate reaction occurred without warning while I was driving, and I initially did not know whether something had struck the vehicle or what had happened to her. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by a dealer, manufacturer, insurance representative, police, or independent service center. The passenger-side Active Head Restraint remains in its deployed/dislodged condition.

NHTSA complaint 11755584The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving 25 MPH, the message "Low Fuel Pressure" was displayed, and the vehicle stalled in the middle of the road. The vehicle failed to restart and was pushed to the side of the road with the assistance of the spouse. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it remained for 10 days before being diagnosed with a high-pressure fuel pump failure. The dealer determined that the high-pressure fuel pump and an unknown pump needed to be replaced. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel); which was performed on the vehicle two years before the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and denied assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.
NHTSA complaint 11753783The Jeep case involves a 2015 Grand Cherokee Overland with both front seat belts requiring replacement under Jeep's 15-year seat belt warranty extension. One seat belt is completely inoperable and the other is compromised. Despite opening Jeep Case #96537928 in May 2026, Jeep has been unable to obtain replacement parts due to supplier shortages and repeated backorders. Rental assistance was initially offered and later withdrawn by Jeep Customer Care, no firm ETA has been provided. After months of delays, you are seeking escalation because the vehicle remains in an unsafe condition and Jeep has not provided a meaningful resolution
NHTSA complaint 11753700The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH, there was a loud bang coming from behind the vehicle, and the contact was thrust forward. The contact looked around but saw no cause for the sound or for being thrust forward. The contact was able to drive back to the residence. After arriving at the residence, the contact became aware that the front driver's side seat headrest had exploded. The contact’s neck and head were hurt from the impact and from being thrust forward. The contact sought medical attention for whiplash. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed with a deployed headrest. The contact was informed that the headrest needed to be replaced. The dealer suggested replacing both front seat headrests. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.
NHTSA complaint 11753452My car started jumping after purchssing it in November 2025 used. The gear would feel like it was slipping. In March 2026 I parked my car turned it off let off the brake and it rolled. I have used the emergency brake since then. The gas gauge is off. The miles and gauge do not line up correctly and I was advised fuel pump may be off. It will drink gas up within a few miles. Check engine light came on without warning. Took it to check it out said oil sensor. He said replace it soon as you can still driveable. The next day i drove to my sons college and the jeep had no power, the check service on the screen popped up. And the jeep would not accelerate. I was anle to take it to O'Reilly and several codes appeared stating 2 gear shift ratio inaccurate 7 gear shift ratio inaccurate, engine oil pressure control circuit performance stuck off, clutch temp threshold achieved auto stick inhibit. The employee said he had never seen these codes populate. He asked if i had smelled any transmission fluid burning. I said no. No leaks nothing. Had the car for 7 months. He stated transmission isnt any good. That I would need a deep decoding done to say for sure. Car is in limp mode now. Unable to drive safely.
NHTSA complaint 11753169I got into the car and noticed the front passenger head rest was not seated correctly and had extended forward. As soon as I moved the seat forward to see why, it sprung forward.
NHTSA complaint 11750761The passenger headrest exploded and whacked me in the head after we went over a little bump in the road.
NHTSA complaint 11750665The passenger headrest exploded. 1 year ago the driver side headrest exploded while I was driving. Luckily I was not hurt badly or in an accident. Dealership said they would only fix the driver side and to comeback when the other blew up. Now that the other one blew up I am being told it is past the warranty and I will have to pay out of pocket to repair. The warranty extension that would have covered this was called X88. Expired July 2025.I believe the dealer knew it was gong to expire but did nothing to help me.
NHTSA complaint 11749764Technical service bulletins and other notices the manufacturer sent to dealers. A bulletin is not a recall; the 60 most recent are listed.
