Vehicle Stalls repeatedly at idle and low speed coast. This vehicle is available for inspection. This stalling causes a serious safety concern. It greatly increases the chances of having an accident by not giving the operator complete control of the vehicle. This is a widely known defect and the vehicle is presently in possession of the selling dealer for further diagnostics. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the said incidents.
NHTSA complaint 11696373Kickstand spring failed during highway travel causing engine to stall due to side stand switch activation. It is unavailable to inspect as it completely fell off after spring failure, on the 360 dash cam footage you can see one of the attaching ears is missing when it fell off. A motorcycle shutting off traveling down a busy highway (880n Santa clara county) could put one at significant risk of a collision. I was able to hold up the stand with my left leg to maintain travel to the next off ramp to safety, but this as well prevented the ability to shift the transmission.
NHTSA complaint 11690199Technical service bulletins and other notices the manufacturer sent to dealers. A bulletin is not a recall.
