NHTSA complaint 11492308I LEASED THE 2019 LEXUS UX 200 FOR MY DAUGHTER IN NOVEMBER 2019. MY DAUGHTER WAS PARKING THIS CAR IN OUR GARAGE IN FEB 2020. AS PER THE ADVERTISED LEXUS PRE-COLLISION FEATURE FOR THIS MODEL, THE CAR IS SUPPOSED TO COME TO AN AUTOMATIC STOP WHEN IT DETECTS AN OBJECT IN FRONT OF IT. THE CAR DID NOT DETECT THE REFRIGERATOR IN FRONT OF IT AND CRASHED INTO IT. SINCE THAT DAY, MY DAUGHTER HAS BEEN AFRAID OF DRIVING. I REACHED OUT TO LEXUS AND ASKED THEM FOR THEIR HELP BUT THEY HAVEN'T RESPONDED DESPITE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. DETAILS FROM LEXUS WEBSITE: HTTPS://WWW.LEXUS.COM/SAFETY "SHOULD IT DETECT A POTENTIAL FRONTAL COLLISION, IT CAN HELP AUTOMATICALLY BRAKE THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. " THE LEXUS UX DID NOT BEHAVE AS THE ABOVE LINE SAYS AND ALSO WHAT I WAS LEAD TO BELIEVE WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR. *TR
