Case ref via phone call [XXX] 2 separate issues with the truck- automatic window controls and the braking system. I have all the repair records from the dealership and can provide them or any further information that may be needed. Automatic window control- When using, the window would start to raise and then fall back down before raising all the way up. This was an ongoing issue with the passenger window and was in the shop 5 times for repairs. On the last repair the driver window was also having the same issue. Milage at 1st repair visit 5,449. Repair dates: -September 19-22, 2025 -November 13-14, 2025 -February 6-9, 2026 -March 6-27, 2026 -June 1-5, 2026 for both windows Braking system- While driving, the parking brake will engage and turn the ignition off. The truck will then have to be restarted to continue driving. This has occurred while parking, backing up, at stop lights, and while pulling out onto the street. This is a major safety concern as it is going to cause an accident if it is not fixed. At this time the truck is in for 3rd time for this without a diagnosis. Milage at 1st repair visit 10,560. Repair dates: -August 14-18, 2026 -August 25-Sept 1, 2026 -September 8-current The dealership we work with is Larry H Miller Dodge Ram. I have documentation of everything they attempted during our repair visits. We are the original owners of this truck. NHTSA complaint 11768400September 14 ~10AM I was starting from a stop light wen the truck suddenly started surging and the tach showed over 4K RPM, all Gage lights were erratic, it would not accelerate, i lost power steering, and pulled the truck over and did a hard reboot (restart). While that recharged the system I had just exited a treacherous 8 mile very narrow stretch of road between Brookings and Grants Pass Oregon, that has very sharp and blind turns frequented by logging and delivery semi trucks traveling at 30-65 mile per hour depending on the section. If this had happened an hour earlier I'd be dead because there is NO WHERE to pull off. This truck now scares the life (literally) out of me. Took it to get recalls done 9-29-26 and personnel refused to answer any questions or offer help. While there a man with 22 ram diesel came complaining about exact same problems. We talked for over one hour. Now convinced this problem is larger than advertised. Interestingly i got a text asking how i like my Ram @ 10 AM the morning and time of the error. I now wonder about a hacking of the "shut down" codes by other actors. While I purchased a 7 year warranty, that will do me no good when I'm dead from this inferior truck and a corporation that is hiding and clearly refusing necessary repairs. These issues clearly demand a class action lawsuit and cash settlement to buy-back a quality product. 52K for junk truck. Telling how I REALLY FEEL!
NHTSA complaint 11768106The contact owns a 2025 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V059000 (Exterior Lighting, Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not yet available. The dealer informed the contact that parts were issued by the manufacturer once every two weeks and that there was a waiting list for parts availability. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
NHTSA complaint 11767807While going through an automatic car wash with the engine running, the transmission in Neutral, and my foot off the brake, my truck suddenly shifted into Park and shut off. When I tried to restart it, the display showed "Key Fob Not Detected," even though the fob was in my hand. It took several attempts before the truck restarted. Fortunately, the vehicle behind me did not hit me. This happened three more times before I made it out of the wash. I have since disabled the Engine Stop-Start feature and tried again, with the same result. The truck continues to shift into Park and shut off at random while in a car wash. This is a safety concern, and I would like it diagnosed and repaired.
NHTSA complaint 11767662Occured around midnight 24/25 Sep, 2026. Started vehicle, after using it previously in the day time with no issues, to a blank instrument cluster. All gauges would not move, light up, or function in any way. Further testing shows that the primary front turn lamps were not operating. Cryise control was inaccessible. Additionally shifting from R, N, and Drive is virtually impossible at times. I have to go to park between each shift and go directly to the position desired rapidly. Dealership has informed me that it is essentially the same as the issues other display sizes are having and are recalled. A communication error. Fuses are good, battery and alternator are good as well.
NHTSA complaint 11767157“Front Axle Disconnect (FAD) actuator repeatedly chatters/cycles when the vehicle is parked and ignition is off. The system wakes up multiple times, causing noise, battery drain, and potential unintended axle engagement. This appears to be an electrical control defect. Issue is reproducible in 2wd. Dealer has been too busy to look at vehicle.
NHTSA complaint 11767012After normal driving and powering down, (breaking, stopping, transmission to park, and turning truck off) the truck then lurches forward after a period of time from shutting it off. It lurches forward and then returns to its resting place. It does not do this every time and it is random with no identifiable reason that I can ascertain. The first time it happened I was at a gas station when the truck was turned off and my son got out to get a snack inside the gas station store. When walking toward the store the truck lurched forward nearly hitting my child. This problem was reported to McGovern Jeep Dodge Ram Newton, MA where they have had many opportunities to fix the problem. We have been in and out of the shop several times, with each visit lasting weeks to months. For the most recent repair (i was given the truck back on 9/17/26) the truck was in the shop nearly two months and the dealer involved a stellantis engineer and reported that they replaced the valve body/HIS repair in the transmission as well as both batteries, claiming it solved the problem. Upon return of vehicle I drove it home without turning off the car or stopping anywhere and the truck repeated the same lurching motion after powering down the vehicle. I have provided a video to Mcgovern showing the lurching and they have also stated in their notes the truck lurches 55 seconds after the truck goes to sleep. The truck was returned from McGovern with 20,223 miles and its about 25 miles from the shop to my house where the vehicle currently is. McGovern has made approximately 6 attempts to fix this issue while Planet Jeep Dodge Ram in Franklin MA has made 1 attempt to fix part of the issue. This has resulted in approximately 238 days out of service while at dealers. I have asked McGovern to tow the vehicle back to its shop to be worked on as I do not feel safe driving the vehicle. I have video of the truck lurching while off but I was not allowed to upload it on this form.
NHTSA complaint 11766055Vehicle auto start failure has constantly failed leaving Vehicle stranded in roadway ,started at milage 14,090 repairs attempted at dealer to no avail
NHTSA complaint 117660372025 Ram 1500 experiences complete engine stalling at low RPM while coasting to stops. First and only owner since June 20, 2025. Vehicle properly maintained. INCIDENTS: August 28, 2026 - stalled twice (12:30 PM at stop sign, 3:30 PM at stop light). Both times coasting with no throttle/brake input. Check engine light appeared. September 17, 2026 - Critical safety incident: Vehicle stalled while releasing brake at stop sign merging with Highway 50 eastbound (50 MPH traffic). Complete loss of power steering and brakes during highway merge. REPAIR ATTEMPTS FAILED: Dropped off September 3, returned September 10 after PCM software update. Stalling returned. Returned September 16-17 for ignition control module update. Vehicle stalled in dealership parking lot same day. Two repair attempts in two weeks - both unsuccessful. DIAGNOSTIC CODES: P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303 (cylinder misfires). Codes persist after both repairs, indicating root cause in ignition/fuel delivery system that software updates cannot fix. SAFETY HAZARD: Vehicle shuts off without warning while operating. Loss of steering/brakes during highway merge created imminent collision risk. Vehicle currently unsafe to drive. REQUEST: Investigate systematic manufacturing/design defect in low RPM stalling condition. Multiple failed repairs and diagnostic codes indicate this is not isolated component failure. Vehicle has defect despite 14 months proper maintenance by first owner. Vehicle also has issues with radio and backup system. Parts on order with no delivery date or repair date.
NHTSA complaint 11765782THIS 2025 RAM 1500 HAS AN INTERMITTENT BUT SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT THAT CAN CAUSE A LOSS OF POWER/STALL DURING THE AUTOMATIC START/STOP SEQUENCE, INCLUDING WHILE I AM IN ACTIVE TRAFFIC OR IN AN INTERSECTION. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURS, THE TRUCK MAY NOT RESTART OR RESPOND NORMALLY WHEN I NEED TO ACCELERATE, LEAVING ME STOPPED AND EXPOSED TO CROSS TRAFFIC OR REAR-END IMPACT. THE VEHICLE HAS ALSO DISPLAYED ABNORMAL TRANSMISSION/GEAR MESSAGES DURING START/STOP OPERATION, INCLUDING PROMPTING ME TO CHANGE THE SHIFT GEAR FROM PARK WITHOUT ME INTENTIONALLY SELECTING PARK. THIS BEHAVIOR IS UNPREDICTABLE AND CREATES A REAL RISK THAT THE VEHICLE CAN BECOME IMMOBILIZED OR ENTER AN UNEXPECTED GEAR/SHIFT STATE IN TRAFFIC. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO SUBURBAN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF GARDEN CITY, MICHIGAN, FOUR TIMES FOR THIS SAME SAFETY CONCERN. THE DEALER HAS NOT REPAIRED THE CONDITION, STATING THEY CANNOT REPLICATE IT BECAUSE IT IS INTERMITTENT. AN INTERMITTENT DEFECT THAT CAUSES STALLING OR LOSS OF PROPULSION IN TRAFFIC IS STILL A SAFETY DEFECT, AND RETURNING THE VEHICLE UNREPAIRED DOES NOT ELIMINATE THE DANGER. I AM REQUESTING THAT NHTSA INVESTIGATE THIS CONDITION ON 2025 RAM 1500 VEHICLES, INCLUDING THE START/STOP, POWERTRAIN, TRANSMISSION CONTROL, AND RELATED SOFTWARE/ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS. THIS VEHICLE HAS PUT ME IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS MULTIPLE TIMES, AND I AM CONCERNED THAT A CRASH, INJURY, OR DEATH COULD OCCUR IF THIS DEFECT IS NOT IDENTIFIED AND CORRECTED.
NHTSA complaint 11765716On several occasions the forward collision safety feature has not worked at all. it failed to apply the brakes or give me a warning prior to me having to manually apply the brakes to avoid a collision. I have report to the dealer several times to which I was told that no codes are showing so the system is working. It is not working. I do not know if the pedestrian avoidance is working either.
NHTSA complaint 11765642We have had sudden engine shut down issues with this truck for close to a year. We have had it at the dealership several times and they say they cannot get the issue resolved and cannot duplicate it. The truck begins running rough, as you slow the vehicle to a stop, the engine dies; the message shows "auto brake disabled" use run brake to restart. After the last visit to the dealership, the engine missing is more prominent, and the stop happened as the vehicle was moving at low speed (preparing to stop and at a near stop). The dealership claims they ran the engine at idle for a length of time with no issues. They also said they drove it several miles with no issues. I picked up the truck that same day, just before they closed. I went approximately 2 miles and while stopped at a red light, the engine stopped and the auto brake warning appeared again. I drove another 4 miles to a drive-up window, as the vehicle slowed, the engine stopped, and the auto brake activated at slow speed.
NHTSA complaint 11765561Constant random warning of automatic emergency braking not available or failure.
NHTSA complaint 11765383After towing module recall completed, the trailer towing light comes On showing up on the dash board in yellow requesting setup, then fades off. Twice happened. Folding mirror required three depressions of folding mirror button to open. Back up camera fails and shows blue screen, no back up image. 5 times since Ownership. Downshift and up shift hard enough and jerky enough to break traction on icy roads in traffic. Winter is coming and this is a genuine safety concern. Pulling into parking spot very slowly truck went into park and applied brakes, no reason for this. Front sensors failed to operate when pull into into another park spot and only worked on restart. Both batteries failed and required replacement under warranty when truck was new with break in type miles. A/C locked up on infotainment center and could not turn off. Required three restarts. Rear view mirror has failed to dim several times. Numerous software issues and electrical. Stellantis should buy these trucks back, fix them right and then sell as used. I would like my hard earned money back on a new truck plagued with issues and is a safety hazard!
NHTSA complaint 11765150In certain instances while breaking during the day and night the headlights flash on and off. This has happened several times during the day and twice at night while my family was in the truck.
NHTSA complaint 11764824I received the notification for a recall on the car, took to a dealership for repair but the dealership said the recall repair is incomplete, remedy not yet available
NHTSA complaint 11764679Vehicle repeatedly has issues starting, This has previously been identified as an Aux Drain issue. Vehicle checked my OEM however consistently reoccurs. This is not a suitable remedy for a 2 year old, OEM maintained vehicle.
NHTSA complaint 11764384ADA Continuously fails at all road speeds and road/weather conditions. System will not consistently remain engaged. Some failure are intermittent other disable the system for extended periods of time. This has been occurring for 10 months. Triger event is suspected to be on or around time of PCM update 2 attempts to rectify with manufacture have resulted in nil change to system behaviour
NHTSA complaint 117643812025 RAM 1500. This vehicle has the defect described in NHTSA Recall 26V-560 (FCA Recall 83D). Since delivery, the infotainment/radio system has frozen and rebooted itself roughly 6-7 times per week. On at least four occasions the system froze while the backup camera was in active use, leaving a frozen, inaccurate image on the display while the vehicle was moving. During one incident this nearly caused me to strike a pedestrian while the camera image was frozen. Additional infotainment failures include a sudden extremely loud audio noise that cannot be turned down until the unit reboots, the radio language spontaneously changing from English to Italian, and an intermittent "SOS Unavailable" warning indicating the emergency-calling system is not functioning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer three times (6/18/2025, 1/13/2026, and 6/12/2026) and each time the dealer stated they could not replicate the problem, including on 6/12/2026, during the period the manufacturer was investigating this exact defect. I have several videos of the frozen camera display during operation and a photo of the SOS warning. A driver relying on the backup camera cannot see what is behind the vehicle when the image freezes.
NHTSA complaint 11764303On August 5, 2026 while driving my 2025 Ram 1500 with the 3.0L Hurricane engine which has approximately 25,000 miles on it, I heard a metal on metal grinding sound as I accelerated from a traffic light at approximately 20mph. The "Service engine - see dealer" warning appeared and the truck then appeared to lose power. I received no overheating warning or message and was unaware the engine had overheated. The Ram dealership determined that the thermostat failed, causing the engine to overheat, resulting in a failed head gasket and warping the cylinder head and engine block. Stellantis authorized a complete engine replacement. I was not aware the engine was overheating because no overheating warning or message displayed. My safety concern is that the engine sustained severe overheating and internal damage without warning me it was overheating. The dealership advised that the turbos were visually inspected and appeared normal, but the cause of the metal on metal grinding sound has not been identified.
NHTSA complaint 11764125Technical service bulletins and other notices the manufacturer sent to dealers. A bulletin is not a recall; the 60 most recent are listed.
