Rear backup camera fails intermittently when shifting into reverse. Failure is a blue screen on the driver display. Seems the same problem is currently under recall for other Ram models.
NHTSA complaint 11767673This vehicle was a rental RV from Roadsurfer in [XXX]. Electronic issues caused a fault in the ABS brake system that eventually damage the front axle assembly, which was replaced during our vacation. The electronic issue was not addressed so the ABS brake problem continued throughout the trip, causing major safety issues as the brakes kept trying to set while driving at highway speeds. After the repair was completed, we went to an auto repair store to see if we could see codes that were being thrown, and there were multiple codes already present for this issue when we rented the RV. We also discovered an airbag sensor signal that had not been addressed. we then went to a dealer for this model Van and got an additional list of airbag and driver seat sensors that had active codes. The ABS brakes continued to have issues up to every 20 minutes during the entire six day vacation. The rental company was called multiple times and a claim was filed. These issues began with an 80 miles of picking up the RV on XXX and continued until we returned it on XXX. I inquired multiple times throughout the trip if we could return it have a new Van brought to us exchange it, and no options were given. Even issues that are noted in the rental contract are not addressed as repairs are not being done as documented through conversations on social media. NHTSA complaint 11764906Fuel tank leaking gasoline badly, where tank and fuel fill are connected. This is our 6th Pro Master out of the 41 we have so far. This is a very dangerous gasoline leak and, so far we have been lucky with no bodily injury, death or fires
NHTSA complaint 11764735The steering wheel bucks and becomes immovable when I’m steering. The problem is intermittent and happens primarily when driving slowly, such as getting maneuvered at a gas pump or parking. It has also happened at highway speeds when there are rumble strips, in construction zones, or broken concrete that jars the vehicle.

NHTSA complaint 11760012While at the dealership service center, the "service electronic power steering" warning light illuminated on the dash and when driven the steering wheel began snapping back, making driving very difficult. The garage informed us that the van is considered unsafe/undriveable until fixed due to the high risk of causing an accident. Upon inspection by the service center, they stated that the steering pump was filled with water from an unknown source and that the harnesses were completely corroded. The wiring/connectors were also completely corroded and appeared to be causing the issues with steering.
NHTSA complaint 11759574The collision warning system fails to work around 90% of the time. This has been reported to the dealer with no resolution. This is a known problem issue on all Promaster vans and Stellantis refuses to fix the software.
NHTSA complaint 11758541Vehicle wheel would suddenly jerk when driving. Video of steering wheel doing this was taken while parked. The suddenness of this created immediate dangers to the driver and any around due to the unpredictability of the steering. Vehicle was brought to a dealer/service center where they diagnosed a corroded wire harness that required the entire steering rack to be replaced. There were no warnings or dash lights on. Vehicle is still at the service center four weeks later because the wire harness is unavailable and the vehicle cannot be safely driven.
NHTSA complaint 11758012The Electronic Power Steering (and EPS Module) failed, making it incredibly hard to steer especially at low speeds. Dealer confirmed that the power steering rack has failed. All power steering features and lights came on, rendering the vehicle inoperable while driving doen the road. This is a serious safety concern.
NHTSA complaint 11757934Power steering electrical connector(s) completely corroded from moisture intrusion, while driving ps shut down and warning light flashed. Had to suddenly correct in a corner without ps, almost had an accident. It is available for inspection, as I cannot afford to fix this yet. Dealer inspected problem, ps rack and harness need replacement at a cost of appr. CAD $4000-5000. Have not contacted manufacturer yet, but will now. Vehicle warranty just expired and has only 26 k km on it.
NHTSA complaint 11757498Sometimes while driving I experienced my powered steering cut out while taking a ramp on/off of the highway, and sometimes when i was trying to park and back up into a parking space while steering at the same time. When the power steering cut out I got lights for "Service Power Steering", "Service ESC", and "Service Hill Assist" all at the same time, and once i got a power steering light. I looked up the issue and found that there is an active preliminary investigation going on for the same issue on the same vehicle, the investigation coded PE26002. Once I handed the vehicle over to the dealer, they found that the power steering had an open circuit on the steering gear. Once they took the connector off they found that the connector was corroded and the wires were burned on the steering gear and main harness side. I had to have them replace both the steering rack, and the main harness.
