Mercedes Sprinter Automatic Emergency Braking cannot stay turned on, by design. After driving 30-60 minutes without traffic it turns off, every time. There's more potential for driver confusion and accidents when the system works sometimes and not others. The dealer says this behavior is intentional. A warning light does appear on the dash when AEB is disabled.
