I am having a problem with my brakes sticking. After it has been sitting all night, the brake pedal will be stiff and I’m unable to push it down much to start it. Once it’s started it thumps almost like the parking brake was set but I haven’t used it and I park on flat land. When I’m sitting in park, it’s idling as though I’m pushing the gas…the speed accelerates especially on curvy roads where I brake more frequently. The rotors have been scored for some time. Dealership blames it on them getting heated up. I drove to work and home 15 minutes each way. I’ve had a few long road trips but this scoring happened in a period without any long trips. Something isn’t right and I fear it’s going to push me into someone one day.
NHTSA complaint 11767572I am submitting this complaint regarding the rearview camera on my 2025 Trax, which has been inoperative since early 2026 & is now the subject of a recall. I contacted my dealership in March to have the rearview camera repaired. the part was on back order & I was advised that the repair could not be completed. The camera remains inoperative as of Sept 2026, more than six months after I initially attempted to have it repaired, I received the official recall on 9/22/26. I am particularly concerned about the length of time this known safety issue has remained unresolved. this vehicle is regularly driven by my daughter, who received her driver's license in July 2024. During the period in which the camera has been inoperative, she has been involved in two backing incidents. In one incident she backed into a pole in the school parking lot, causing damage to the vehicle. In another, the passenger-side mirror struck a mailbox while she was backing out of a driveway. I cannot establish that the absence of a functioning rearview camera caused either incident. However, both occurred while the vehicles camera was unavailable, depriving the driver of the rear visibility the system is designed to provide during backing maneuvers. I believe these incidents demonstrate the real-world safety concern created by operating this vehicle for an extended period without a functioning rearview camera. My concern is also that I attempted to have this defect corrected months before receiving the recall notice, but the necessary part was unavailable & remains unavailable. I have been required to continue operating a nearly new vehicle without an important safety feature despite making a timely effort to have the problem repaired. I am requesting NHTSA document this complaint, including the two backing incidents & review the unavailability of parts for the recall. I would also like GM to provide a prompt remedy so that the vehicle can be returned to its intended & compliant safety condition.
NHTSA complaint 11766381I own a 2025 Chevrolet Trax, VIN [XXX]. I am experiencing unusually high fuel consumption compared with the vehicle’s normal fuel economy. I am having to refuel significantly more frequently than expected. I am also experiencing a completely black rearview camera. I am requesting that both issues be documented as safety/defect complaints and investigated to determine whether they are related to known problems with this vehicle. NHTSA complaint 11765539During an accident when impacted in the front of vehicle not a single airbag deployed
NHTSA complaint 11762455The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Trax. The contact stated that while in reverse(R), the rear-view camera displayed a blank image. The contact discovered through the insurance company that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V539000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact made several attempts to speak with the manufacturer but was forced to leave voice messages each time. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 9,700.
NHTSA complaint 11762081Component that malfunctioned: loose Inner and outer tie rod end following repair preformed at a dealer on 8/20/2026. This component is essential for proper steering and if this would have failed while driving the joint can shear or free from the knuckle as the driver looses control of the steering. additionally, this sudden loss of control would have likely resulted in a serious if not fatal accident. I am an auto technician by trade at a independent repair shop, me and a fellow technician verified the inner and outer tie rod have more than 0.5mm of movement documented by video inspection, we removed the inner tie rod boot and uncovered the inner tie rod was not completely threaded into the rack, we completed threading it but the play is still present. This component was allegedly inspected and repaired on 8/20/26 with the return of clunking noise presenting on 9/3/26. I have not returned to this establishment. No warning lamps are illuminated, the only symptoms are a sharp suspension clunk and noise while turning right. the vehicle was returned to me in an unsafe condition by a known GM dealership. It is unknown to me the exact extent of the service as they did not provide me with any physical records as requested by me.

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormally loud bang, and the vehicle lost automotive power. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to pull over to the shoulder of the road, and the vehicle was towed to a local dealer. The engine was replaced under warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 20,227.

NHTSA complaint 11760424Faulty air condenser. Condenser had a hole.
NHTSA complaint 11756122The infotainment system CarPlay repeatedly crashes mid-drive. Losing mapping information and attempting to pull them up again while driving is unsafe.
NHTSA complaint 11754819Saw smoke coming from an under the hood, pulled over opened hood and there were flames all across the top of the engine. Immediately evacuated the vehicle within seconds the vehicle was engulfed in flames and exploded several times. Total loss.
NHTSA complaint 11754170On my way to work the car overheated causing me to be stranded in the middle of no where without cell service. When it got to the dealership to repaire the car, they stated that it was a cylinder head. The dearship had my car a little over a month for repairs, the dealership did finally give me a loaner for the last week of the repairs but I lost work and a client due to not having transportation. A week after receiving the car back I still had problems with a check engine light coming on occasionally with loss of power and it would go away. I did not trust the car at all.
NHTSA complaint 11749271using adaptive cruise control if a car comes in front of you from the side street etc the car can go from 55 to 30 in seconds and if someone is following too close or not paying attention that car can hit you in the rear . on curvy roads a car coming the other way will almost stop the car quickly annoying the driver behind you
NHTSA complaint 11747882Was traveling to head towards the beach and all of a sudden the whole dash starts glitching then goes out for about 10-25 seconds then cuts back on like the car is powering back on. I thought maybe it had something to do with my daughter touching the radio. Well I continue to travel get down the road about another 45mins and it does it again. So I decide to turn the radio off, turn off the A/C, call the dealership and turn around and go home. Dealership checks the car, states it may have been the radio. But how when the car seem to lag/ lose power for a few seconds. That's a safety issue. Car can cut off and cause catastrophic damages. I only drive 3 miles to my job daily so I don't know if it'll happen again until this weekend when I travel to Florida. I've had Dealership to replace the antenna when I first got the vehicle because radio wasn't working. I constantly hear a clicking sound when the air is on. Dealership states they don't hear it. This model vehicle seems to have a few kinks that need to be check.
NHTSA complaint 11743780The speedometer/instrument cluster screen went completely black at startup on XXX. I had no ability to see my speed, fuel level, or any dashboard warning lights. I was forced to pull over on a public road and restart the vehicle. This is the second screen to fail on this vehicle — the navigation screen also went black multiple times beginning in February 2026. Capitol Chevrolet dismissed both incidents without performing any diagnostic inspection or repair. Vehicle has approximately 32,950 miles and is under active bumper-to-bumper warranty. VIN: [XXX]. NHTSA complaint 11742226The audio system in my 2025 Chevrolet Trax produces persistent distortion and poor sound quality at normal listening levels. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Chevrolet dealer, and they reported that a speaker was replaced, but the issue remains unresolved. The sound quality affects my ability to clearly hear navigation prompts, safety alerts, and phone calls while driving. I am submitting this complaint so the issue can be properly documented and reviewed for potential safety impact
NHTSA complaint 11738842Had a bumper to bumper collision that was caused by me, the cars computer sent a report to OnStar and OnStar said that they had airbag deployment alert going off in the car. However, the airbags never deployed.
NHTSA complaint 11736058I have only had the vehicle 1 year and 4 months and I am already having to replace the wiper blades a for a second time. The fact that Chevrolet decided to put a wiper blades arm that no one makes adapters for except Chevrolet and the fact that I can’t just walk into an auto parts store and buy new blades is absolutely infuriating.
NHTSA complaint 11735255I am driving the vehicle and suddenly the information center and entertainment center will suddenly go black without warning. This will stay black for approximately 10 seconds. Followed by 2 chimes. A series of 4 lights on the drivers side front dash will come on. I believe this is related to the forward collision system(the lights that come on). The entertainment and information center then come back on without any errors or messages. I noticed this issue occurred all spring, summer and fall of and part of winter of 2025. Then it stopped thru mid april 2026 and then started again. The adaptive cruise is also shutting off without warning saying it's temporarily unavalable.
NHTSA complaint 11734496Since brand new the electronics have been defective. The lane keep assist has to be turned off during slippery road conditions because the computer jerks the steering wheel during normal driving where white road markings, such as merging lanes are present. During highway speeds on slippery snow or ice it nearly sends the vehicle into a dangerous maneuver. The backup camera was defective intermittently since it was new and was unable to be corrected by the dealer shop during its first new vehicle service. The rear camera has now gone completely out which is standard safety equipment. A dealership has ordered a new backup camera part. The transmission jerks and lurches. Odd shifting is normal for this vehicle which could lead to transmission failures which could lead to a collision.
NHTSA complaint 11730838Technical service bulletins and other notices the manufacturer sent to dealers. A bulletin is not a recall; the 60 most recent are listed.
