NHTSA complaint 11763195Good Morning There is a transmission failure - there is no fluid pressure in the transmission lines and the pump seems inoperable. There is already a recall on this issue but the vehicle I have does not fall within the guidelines - less than a year. Recall S44 - is for July 31, 2015 to April 18, 2016. But my vehicle was built on October 15, 2014 and is listed as a 2015 model. All information has been confirmed through the local Dodge dealership, a mechanic, and also through Mopar. I am requesting that the VIN to this vehicle also be added into the recall.
NHTSA complaint 11762102Radiator fan not working
NHTSA complaint 11758756Transaxle pump failure for my vehicle. Recall S44 does not include my specific vin so I am not able to get assistance through Dodge
NHTSA complaint 11753915The front passenger side headrest in my 2015 Dodge Van deployed in April 2024. Head rest deployment is a known issue. The dealership told me the headrest was under an extended warranty due to the issue. The dealership placed the headrest on back order for 1.5 years. Now that the headrest is available at the dealership, the dealership is refusing to install it under the extended warranty. The dealership is stating that the warranty expired while the headrest was on back order and they are not obligated to honor the warranty.
NHTSA complaint 11751332The passenger side sliding door is locked into place the power actuator has gone out. An entry way is locked putting people in danger, one way in one way out for 5 rear passengers. Multiple model years have a reoccurring issue. The failure of the sliding door lock actuator is so common that it prompted thousands of owner complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). While it never led to a formal safety recall, NHTSA did open a preliminary evaluation (PE21-016) In response, Chrysler (FCA/Stellantis) issued several Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs), including TSB 23-017-20 and TSB 23-001-25, instructing dealers to replace the faulty actuator rather than the entire latch assembly. No warning signs of failure dealership is saying my vin doesn't count but I'm within 15 years of vehicles service and under 150000 miles.
NHTSA complaint 11748543The vehicle experienced a sudden transmission/powertrain failure while driving. The transmission began slipping, with engine RPM increasing but the vehicle failing to accelerate normally. The vehicle would move very slowly or not move forward at all, creating a significant safety risk in traffic because the driver could not reliably accelerate, merge, or clear intersections. Prior to complete failure, symptoms included delayed engagement when shifting into drive, sluggish acceleration, and slipping under throttle. There were no clear warning lamps before the incident, or any warning indicators were minimal/unclear. The issue worsened rapidly. Inspection by a service center/dealer confirmed the transmission fluid was extremely low and identified a failed transmission pump. The dealer refilled the transmission fluid, but the vehicle still would not move, confirming the failure was not caused by fluid level alone. The dealer advised that the transmission had sustained internal damage and required full transmission replacement. This failure appears consistent with numerous reported transmission pump and powertrain complaints involving the 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, including delayed engagement, slipping, loss of propulsion, and sudden transmission failure. The failed components should be available for inspection upon request
NHTSA complaint 11744915Transmission oil pump failed with vehicle at only 45,000 miles.
NHTSA complaint 11733309The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that while his son was driving approximately 55 MPH, the front driver's side headrest deployed from the base and struck the contact's son. The failure occurred without being in an accident. There was no warning light illuminated, and the air bag did not deploy. The contact's son sustained severe pain in the neck. Medical attention was sought at an urgent care facility. The contact's son received two steroid shots due to the neck pain. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 225,000.
NHTSA complaint 11729885I can't unscrew 4 lug nuts on my rear wheel. I was able to remove just one bought extra tool try to remove them all. Material is like butter, not steel. How engineering could let material like that to be used. I found on the web that a dealer wonna $400 to remove that lugs....
NHTSA complaint 11727322Yesterday I left to run errands and noticed that my vehicle shifted fine into reverse, but did not want to go forward when put in gear. I thought maybe it was cold and let it warm up the more I drove the more sluggish it became going forward I came back home after driving about 4 miles when I pulled in the garage. I noticed there was transmission fluid on the floor. My grandson came and looked at it and added 2 quarts of fluid. I took it to my Dodge dealer this morning and they told me the fluid was so low that it burned up the pump and now I need to replace the transmission Itself. My drive yesterday was the only warning that I had that there was a transmission problem. It did not seem the amount of fluid on the floor could have made it that low. See the picture attached and you will see the amount of fluid.
NHTSA complaint 11721978The 3.6L Pentastar engine for this year has been shown to be highly problematic. We have had the #2 and now the #1 cylinder heads fail, causing misfires, poor engine performance and complete failure. We’ve also had multiple injectors fail, #2 (twice), 4 & 5. The engine failure is a safety issue and has been proven as such.
NHTSA complaint 11712686Unknown: engine slips, got mechanic to look at it and he showed me where a part of the camshaft is ground down to almost nothing. He says it doesn't work like it is supposed, he has worked on many dodge vehicales that have this problem, and I need a new camshaft. Which entails taking timing chain off and an expensive repair.
NHTSA complaint 11710842Drove down the highway, took an exit, came to a red-light, turns green, press the gas car won't move for about 2-4 seconds then jumps into gear and stays stuck in first...look up the problem see there was a recall for the Transmission on the year and model but only some of them.
NHTSA complaint 11704194While driving a vehicle in front of me turned in front of another vehicle which pushed that car sideways and there was no way to stop so my front end hit the back end of their vehicle totalling my van.
NHTSA complaint 11697383Transmission fluid pump has been really loud and now slipping. Dodge had a recall on pumps from the 2015-2016 grand caravan however it seems a very widespread problem that they are not including ALL the vehicles that have the issues. My issue is exact to what the recall was for and I am not sure how my vehicle does not qualify.
NHTSA complaint 11693452The part that failed on the 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan was the Active Head Restraint (AHR) on the passenger seat. It suddenly deployed while driving smoothly. The vehicle was going about 15 mph and there was no sudden impacts or movement that would have caused the AHR to deploy. It is available for inspection upon request. The safety of the passenger was put at risk by the potential impact of the headrest unexpectedly hitting their head that could cause physical harm. The deployment also caused a loud noise that acted as a distraction to the driver. The problem has not been reproduced as far as I know. I have seen others on multiple websites reporting the same failure of the AHR. The headrest has not been inspected as of the day of this incident report. There were no warnings or symptoms that would have led me to believe something was potentially wrong with the headrest.
NHTSA complaint 11681976The passenger headrest deployed when traveling down the road without being in a collision. The passenger has hit in the back on head with headrest going down the road. I took the vehicle to my closest dealership and they advise me to call stellantis customer care and report it. I has informed that the X87 warranty extension recently expired. I was told it would have to be an out of pocket expense even though it is a safety risk.
NHTSA complaint 11678868The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and attempting to change gear, the transmission started slipping. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic, where it was determined that the transmission solenoid might be defective. The transmission solenoid was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, the contact decelerated and then accelerated, and the transmission slipped and made an abnormal winding sound. Additionally, while the vehicle was idling and the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle slightly jerked for several minutes. The contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently. The contact was able to drive to the residence. The vehicle towed to an independent mechanic, where the contact was informed that the transmission pump displayed low pressure; however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V461000 (Power Train), and the mechanic referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact called the manufacturer but was unable to speak to a live representative. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
NHTSA complaint 11677747The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan. While the contact's husband was driving 15 MPH, the front passenger's side headrest detached from the base and struck the contact in the back of the head extremely hard. The air bag had not deployed. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a detached headrest air bag. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for assistance. The contact sustained a neck injury; however, no medical attention was needed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 114,000.
NHTSA complaint 11672348Technical service bulletins and other notices the manufacturer sent to dealers. A bulletin is not a recall; the 60 most recent are listed.
