The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250 SD. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a no-start condition and was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the high-pressure fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. However, the contact was informed that the repair was not covered under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V957000 (Fuel System, Diesel); because there were not enough metal shavings found in the fuel system. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact used a vehicle scanner to retrieve DTC: P2291. The contact notified the manufacturer of the failure and was referred to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 134,000.
NHTSA complaint 11761676I was traveling down the highway at approximately 55mph when truck suddenly lost power. I was able to pull over and had the vehicle towed as truck would not start. It was later determined that the cp4 high pressure fuel pump grenaded causing complete fuel system replacement costing over $11,000 in repairs. Shards of aluminium was sent throughout the fuel system.
NHTSA complaint 11760167Subject: Request for Review of Recall Remedy Effectiveness – Ford Recall 24S78 / NHTSA Recall 24V-957 Vehicle: 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty 6.7L Power Stroke VIN: [XXX] To Whom It May Concern: I am submitting this letter to document a significant safety event involving my 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty and to request that NHTSA consider whether the current recall remedy associated with Ford Recall 24S78 / NHTSA Recall 24V-957 adequately addresses vehicles that are already exhibiting symptoms of CP4 fuel pump deterioration. I am not submitting this complaint to seek financial compensation. My purpose is to provide information that may assist NHTSA in evaluating whether the existing remedy sufficiently protects motorists from the safety risks associated with CP4 pump failure. Background My vehicle's VIN has been confirmed as included in the affected population covered by the CP4 fuel pump recall. Prior to the ultimate failure, the vehicle exhibited symptoms that, in hindsight, may have been indicators of fuel-system deterioration. In February 2026, I documented concerns regarding abnormal starting behavior and specifically questioned whether either vehicle battery was failing. No battery issue was identified. Believing the issue might be battery related, I replaced both batteries at my own expense. The starting concern continued. On [XXX], while covered under a Ford Extended Service Plan, Fuel Injector #4 failed and was replaced under warranty. During the same service visit, the recall software update was performed. Despite the recall remedy being completed, the vehicle subsequently suffered a catastrophic CP4 pump failure in August 2026. Safety Event The failure occurred while traveling between Utopia, Texas and Tarpley, Texas on a rural roadway with sharp curves, steep terrain, significant drop-offs, and little or no roadway shoulder. The vehicle experienced a sudden loss of propulsion. Fortunately, I had just exited a curve and was able to INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (F
NHTSA complaint 11759093The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250 SD. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V957000 (Fuel System, Diesel); however, while driving 40 MPH approximately two months later, the vehicle was running rough and stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed with a high-pressure fuel pump failure, causing the fuel system to become contaminated. The dealer determined that the fuel system needed to be replaced. The dealer submitted a diagnostic report to the manufacturer. The contact notified the manufacturer of the failure, and a case was filed. The vehicle was not repaired and was pending the manufacturer's decision regarding the coverage of the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.

NHTSA complaint 1175324410r140 paired with 6.7 powerstroke in a 2020 f250 build date 11/19 at the Kentucky plant. My truck specs and build date and location is in the timeframe of the planetary gear recall, ford has also issued tsb’s about the cdf bushing that should have been a recall because it is a design flaw on every 2020-2022 model truck. It’s not fair that we should have to pay for a tsb bc we don’t have warranty left. My truck has 84,000 miles but is out of the 5 years warranty period. Symptoms I am having with my transmission are: Harsh engaging to drive and reverse Flair shifts bad sometimes almost like it goes into neutral between changing gears Has shifted from 4th to 1st instead of 4th to 5th or 6th, then it started shifting normal right after. Had my factory 3250rpm limiter not been moved to 4500rpm the truck would have locked the rear wheels up and possible caused driveline damage or other damaged. Also had a car been behind me when this happened I would have been in a wreck because it slammed to a low speed and the car would have rear ended me. Slips in 4th and 7th gear the most but sometimes in other gears Bumps when it shifts a lot of the gears Sometimes shudders and shakes and will almost make like a pop noise Will clunk on downshift from 5-3 Sometimes clunks when upshifting 3-5 I have had the truck looked at by an independent diesel mechanic I use and he said there is a problem somewhere in the transmission, it’s either planetary gear or cdf bushing has moved or the drum itself has cracked. The component itself has not been inspected because the only was to inspect this is to tear the transmission down. The pan has been dropped and had a lot of metal material on the magnet. No codes on the dash but my mechanic said I had dtcs stored for the transmission. I have created a case claim with Ford trying to see if they will extend the recall for the known issue but I have had zero luck with them. I have videos of the issues but can’t upload them on here.
NHTSA complaint 11752304The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact received notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V256000 (Power Train); however, the recall repair could not be completed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that a thrust washer was missing from the output planetary assembly and had disintegrated, contaminating the transmission case, transfer case, torque converter, cooling lines, and radiator. The missing washer caused the planetary gear to shift and damage the transmission case. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was 80,256.
NHTSA complaint 11749392Left rear seat belt buckle or system failed causing a fault in the Airbag/Restraint system. The fault initially happened in June of 2025 with about 50k miles on the vehicle. I took it to a dealer who told me the buckle was not available and the whole system needed to be replaced for over $1500. Vehicle seldom has anyone in the back seat but that is where my children sit. Looking at posts on the internet, this seems to be a common enough problem that this should be taken care of under recall or customer service warranty.
NHTSA complaint 11743890The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number 24V957000 (Fuel System, Diesel); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the vehicle had become inoperable due to a transmission failure. The contact associated the transmission failure with the recall; however, the dealer advised that the transmission repair would be at the owner's expense. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

NHTSA complaint 11737777Vehicle: 2020 Ford F‑250 Super Duty VIN: [XXX] Issue: Front / CHMSL camera intermittent or inoperative Ford CSP 20B39 applies CSP cannot be completed due to Gateway Module failure Ford has not responded despite multiple written requests I have personally sent emails to them on: Sent April 6 Sent April 9 Sent April 16 4/29 - Called and asked for coordination. Received no acknowledgment RE: Request for Coordination With Dealer to Complete Recall 20B39 [XXX] [XXX] > Thu, Apr 16, 11:59 AM (13 days ago) to crcfmc, [XXX] , [XXX] , [XXX] Dear Ford Customer Relationship Center, I'm writing to follow up again on my previous emails of April 6 and April 9 regarding my 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty (VIN: [XXX] ). I have not received any response or confirmation of receipt. I want to correct my earlier characterization — after further research, I understand that 20B39 is a Customer Satisfaction Program, not a safety recall. That said, the core issue and my position remain the same, and I want to lay out where things stand clearly. The situation: - My vehicle is covered under CSP 20B39 (Front View and CHMSL Camera — PCB conductivity issue causing intermittent camera operation) - The program is in effect through November 30, 2030 or 150,000 miles, and the repair is to be performed at no charge to the vehicle owner - My servicing dealer, Santa Margarita Ford, attempted to complete the CSP work but could not because the vehicle's Gateway Module is not communicating properly - The dealer has advised that the Gateway Module must be replaced before the camera work under XXX can be completed My position: Ford issued CSP XXX and committed to completing this repair at no charge. If the Gateway Module must be functional in order for Ford's own program to be executed, then resolving the Gateway Module issue is Ford's prerequisite to meet — not an out-of-pocket cost to push to the customer. I'm not asking for anything beyond INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
NHTSA complaint 11734594While driving at speeds above 30mph truck will have the death wobble. We will lose complete control in direction of steering. Have to try to stop and then turn the wheel right and left before the truck will regain normal travel. Is a huge safety issue and has almost caused us to wreck. Has happened multiple times and we have been unable to determine what has caused the issue. We have had the steering column recall fixed and have even changed the tie rod ends with no change.
NHTSA complaint 11734145Vehicle experienced loss of power while in travel down a mountain. After inspection by a mechanic, CP4 pump had a catastrophic failure sending metal shards throughout the fuel system. This was less than a month after Fords SAFETY RECALL 24S78 that failed to remedy the problem, but before recall Number26V158 was issued.
NHTSA complaint 11728380This vehicle was delivered yesterday to my son through Autonation Sanford [XXX] . The CARFAX report stated a pre delivery inspection was done prior. On the way home he experienced loud screeching from the front wheels. Turns out $1650 later he needed new brakes and rotors. That is negligence, and fraud, especially with a commercial vehicle intended on towing a fishing boat. This was underhanded and a disgusting pattern of behavior. In addition, the open fixable recall was NOT completed as we just found out from searching the VIN on your website. The managers name is [XXX] , I have reached out to him to rectify this situation, and no call back. Truly grotesque, taking advantage of a [XXX] kid. NHTSA complaint 11728224Component: Air Conditioning / Heater Subject: Recurrent HVAC System Failure - Passenger-Side Temperature Control Malfunction I am reporting a recurring failutre of the vehicle's HVAC system affecting the passenger-side temperature control. Specifically the passenger-side air vents intermittently and repeatedly blowing hot air while the driver-side continue to operate normally with cooled air. This condition results in inconsistent cabin temperature control andrenders the air conditioning system ineffective for occupants on the passenger side. Timeline of Failures and Repairs: July 2023: Initial occurrence of passenger side hot air condition. Vehicle was taken to authorized Ford dealership (McRee Ford). Repairs were performed; however the specific root cause either identified or not permanently corrected as another recurrence happened August 2025: Took it back to McRee Ford due to an identical issue reoccurred where the passenger side was blowing hot air. They attempted to repair with the same technician and was again only a temporary resolution as the issue again occurred March 2026: Passenger side blowing hot air for the third time. Took it to a different authorized Ford dealership (Cook Ford) where again, it was identified as a blend door actuator issue. Safety Concern: While the issue may appear to be a comfort concern, it presents a potential safety risk in high temperature environments such as Texas. (Heat related stress or illness for passengers) Multiple authorized dealership seem to be unable to resolve the issue. Currently vehicle is with Cook Ford and was advised that additional funding would be needed for a permanent fix. I've already been financially burdened with taking the vehicle twice to McRee Ford and now a third time to Cook Ford for the same issue, and being told upfront that the failure may again happen. I request an investigation into this matter and HVAC issue. Thank you.
NHTSA complaint 1172789302/04/2026 69k miles. I brought my vehicle in because I got a check engine light on the dash and had loss of power. Was informed that my fuel pump had failed and sent metal shards through the whole fuel system. The damage was covered by the recall, which also included reprogramming of the tcm and pcm. Was then told that the reflash of those systems was a failure, and that the Ford Motor Company was working on a remedy. My dealership has since completed a full fuel system replacement, and there still isn't a fix for the programming issue. This is a revenue generating vehicle, and the only one, for my small business. I lost many clients due to inability to perform the work I was contracted to do. My dealership did offer me a loaner vehicle, but it's not one that can perform the work that my truck was able to do, and was told not to use the vehicle for any commercial work or towing, as thats not allowed. Ive reached out to customer relations to get updates, and have had no help from them, save for telling me they're working on it, and will hope to have a remedy soon.
NHTSA complaint 11727660I was driving the truck and suddenly smoke came out from behind the radio. I stopped and checked and saw that the truck was on fire. I immediately tried to turn it off with the few water bottles that I had with me. I had no luck and the entire truck burned up.

The contact stated that recently, while driving approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle started to lose motive power. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled and was towed to the same local dealer. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that the high-pressure fuel pump had failed, and the pump and the diesel fuel system needed to be replaced. The contact was provided and estimate for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 164,000.
