Vehicle developed a check engine light and underwent warranty repair, during which all six fuel injectors were replaced (Repair Order #1HWS5031079, dated 7/8/2026, 33,768 miles). Despite this repair, the check engine light returned, and the vehicle subsequently developed an intermittent hard-start and no-start condition — in some instances the engine would not start on the first attempt and required a second attempt. The vehicle was returned to the dealership for a second repair visit (Repair Order #1HCS55031999, dated 7/28/2026, 34,090 miles), during which the dealership considered multiple possible causes, including a sensor issue and fuel-related concerns, before completing the repair. The vehicle was out of service for a cumulative total of approximately 22 days across both repair visits. An intermittent no-start condition raises reliability and safety concerns, particularly in situations requiring predictable vehicle operation.
NHTSA complaint 11768193Car has been shaking & rattling when hitting a pothole and not allowing my car to stop the brakes become very hard to press down on causing my car to move more into the street. I have small children and it is a big safety issues.
NHTSA complaint 11767055The panoramic roof glass on my 2024 Hyundai Palisade shattered unexpectedly while the vehicle was stationary or just beginning to move. I did not observe any object striking the vehicle, nor was the vehicle involved in a collision. The glass continued to fall into the passenger compartment, creating a potential safety hazard for occupants. The vehicle can still be operated; however, dust, water, and other debris can enter the vehicle through the damaged roof. There were no warning signs, unusual noises, cracks, or other symptoms prior to the failure. The incident occurred on September 9, 2026, at approximately 37,900 miles. I have scheduled a dealership inspection for this week, and a case has already been opened with Hyundai Customer Care. The dealer's inspection is currently pending.
NHTSA complaint 11764539My car makes a clunking noise in the rear (rear differential) while starting/ stopping at slow speeds or turning a corner. No warning lights but it seems to be worse. Dealership has replaced shock absorber assembly and said it corrected it. It did not. I have called the dealership again for them to tell me my car needed a system update.
NHTSA complaint 11763460When stopping on uneven ground ,or steeper down hill the breaks fail to stop. They don’t “catch “ to stop. In separate issue is the “emergency steering” alert flashes on dash randomly and takes over when there is no need to anything out of the normal happening, only happen in very short time maybe under a minute but it shouldn’t come on at all when it does happen
NHTSA complaint 11762459I purchased this 2024 Hyundai Palisade new, delivered XXX. Beginning XXX, at only 3,954 miles, I began experiencing a recurring defect in which the front windshield wipers freeze, stick, or stop moving mid-stroke while the vehicle is being actively driven. This is most dangerous during heavy/pouring rain, when losing wiper function eliminates my ability to see the road ahead. I have brought the vehicle to Freehold Hyundai ([XXX] [XXX]) eight separate times for this same defect: - XXX (3,954 mi): reported, dealer could not verify, no action - XXX (8,620 mi): reported, dealer could not verify, no action - XXX (9,335 mi): reported, dealer could not verify, no action - XXX (15,748 mi): reported, dealer checked wipers, reported "operating normal" - XXX (48,329 mi): both front wipers not operating normally, windshield linkage flagged as cause - XXX (48,901 mi): wiper arm found bent; arm and linkage replaced - XXX (53,512 mi): noise from wipers, factory wipers recommended - XXX (55,843 mi): wiper arm moving slow and stopping mid-stroke; technician found high electrical resistance in the wiper motor cond internal/electrical failure, but the defect continues to occur. I have video documentation of the wipers freezing while driving in the rain. This is an ongoing, unresolved safety hazard. NHTSA complaint 11760690The vehicle brakes malfunctioned while driving over bumpy pavement in a parking lot. There was a loss of ability to stop the vehicle, the breaks seemed locked or ineffective. This cause me to come close to rear ending the vehicle in front of me. My foot was pushed FIRMLY on the break and the vehicle seemed to continue to lurch forward. The collision warning alarm was sounding and the brake pedal was vibrating.
NHTSA complaint 11760672The vehicle's OEM wiring harness caught fire during standard operation. We had just started our drive connected to a trailer and break controller that functioned flawlessly for a year with a different vehicle prior to this incident. The trailer is a 2025 and the brake controller was new at the time of purchasing the trailer in February 2025. the only thing that prevented further damage was my husband calling to say something was smoking and I needed to stop the car. I was driving to pickup my husband and children from the campground bath house to drive home. Yes, it is available for inspection. The safety of myself and any passengers was put at risk due to the electrical fire and all extenuating risks associated with that. The problem has not been reproduced by the manufacturer that I am aware of. The tech at the dealership verbally confirmed that the part in question was the cause of the fire and that the new (post repair) part did not have a secure 7way plug attachment to the break controller which was also brand new since the original was damaged during the incident. The components have been inspected by the dealership. There were no lights prior to the failure and there were no lights after the failure until the new temporary harness was installed in Slade KY prior to receiving and installing the new (same) OEM part once we returned home.
NHTSA complaint 11757972The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that on two separate occasions while driving at various speeds, the brakes independently activated. The vehicle was stopped, shifted into drive, and then park. The vehicle then shifted into drive(D) another time and the vehicle operated normally. The contact stated that there were no driving features activated during the failures. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
NHTSA complaint 11756959Windshield accumulated a lot of pitting in a certain area while driving within the first 27,000 miles. Noticed this after washing wind shield of bugs. One pit expanded to a 1/2 inch crack when turning into the driveway, just off the drivers side lower edge. It later expanded to the edge and and half way across the windshield.
NHTSA complaint 11756493I own a 2024 Hyundai Palisade that is subject to Recall Campaign 283 involving defective seat belt buckle assemblies. Before learning of the recall, the driver's seat belt unexpectedly unlatched while I was driving. This has happened multiple times. The seat belt appeared to be properly fastened before driving but released while the vehicle was in motion. There were no warning lights or messages before the failures. This creates a serious safety hazard because the driver is no longer properly restrained while the vehicle is moving, significantly increasing the risk of injury or death in the event of a sudden stop or crash. After receiving the recall notice, I took the vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealership in February 2026. The dealership confirmed the recall but said replacement parts were unavailable and that I would be contacted when they arrived. As of August 2026, the repair still has not been completed. When I called for an update, I was told I am "far down on the list" and that it will still be a long time before parts are available. I contacted Hyundai Customer Care to explain that my vehicle has already experienced the recalled defect. Hyundai did not provide a repair timeline, expedite the repair, or offer any interim solution. Instead, they advised me to continue driving the vehicle and to pull on the seat belt after buckling it to ensure it was latched. The recalled seat belt buckle remains installed and is available for inspection. Hyundai has acknowledged this safety defect through a recall, but despite waiting more than six months, I have been unable to obtain the required repair for a defect that has already occurred multiple times while I was driving.
NHTSA complaint 11756069While driving the vehicle, the accelerator pedal was pressed but the vehicle failed to respond and did not accelerate, it simply rolled slowly as the engine continued to idle. The driver increased throttle input in an attempt to get the vehicle to accelerate. The vehicle continued to show no response to the additional throttle. After a delay, the vehicle suddenly resumed normal operation while the higher throttle input was still applied. This resulted in an abrupt and undesired surge of power. While this was occurring, another vehicle was rolling forward in preparation for a left turn. The other driver appeared confused by the Palisade’s lack of acceleration (apparently believing it was yielding) and had not yet turned into the path of the Palisade. The sudden surge of power created a near-miss situation. This incident involved a delayed response to throttle input followed by a sudden surge of power under increased throttle when the vehicle resumed normal operation. The behavior created a safety risk by causing another driver to misjudge the vehicle’s intentions and by producing unexpected lack of acceleration followed by acceleration at a critical moment. This is consistent with ongoing intermittent throttle and power-response issues that have previously been reported to the selling dealer on multiple occasions.
NHTSA complaint 11755886This vehicle has two open safety recalls that the manufacturer has been unable to repair. Recall 25V607000 (manufacturer campaign 283, seat belt buckles, front row and second row outer) was issued in September 2025. The dealer has attempted the repair since March 2026 and cannot complete it because the buckle assembly is on back order. On a June 2026 repair order the dealer listed the part as "Unrealized" and performed no work. The same repair order also listed recall 26V034000 (manufacturer campaign 292, third row FMVSS 226 ejection mitigation), and that repair was not performed either. The repair order was left in pre-invoice status with no labor or parts, and the odometer moved one mile between check-in and check-out. As of August 2026 both recalls still show Recall Incomplete on the NHTSA VIN lookup. The seat belt recall has been unrepairable on this vehicle for approximately five months. The manufacturer's national consumer affairs office stated in writing on four separate dates in June and July 2026 that the dealership had confirmed the parts were available and that we only needed to schedule an appointment. We scheduled and attended an appointment on the date they instructed, and the part was not there. We then contacted three separate dealerships independently; none had the seat belt buckle part in stock, and each stated it remains on back order with no availability date. The manufacturer has declined to repurchase the vehicle or otherwise resolve the matter. The vehicle is used to transport young children in the second and third rows. It has been driven very little since March 2026 because the family does not consider it safe to rely on with an unrepaired seat belt recall. No crash or injury has occurred. The concern is that a federally mandated safety remedy has been unavailable for months while the manufacturer represents that it is available.
NHTSA complaint 11755480After the "9C9" emissions recall update the vehicle randomly fails to respond to appropriately throttle input when attempting to accelerate into traffic. The issue is very intermittent - it may occur twice in 10 minutes or drive fine for hours. It has demonstrated both a "bucking" / stuttering / misfire feeling as well as a complete lack of any throttle response. After a few seconds of bucking, the vehicle returns to normal and accelerates smoothly with no change in throttle input. If the throttle failed to respond, pumping the pedal a few times has resumed normal operation. Situation has occurred multiple times since the update and has allowed the vehicle to roll into traffic without the ability to promptly accelerate to speed creating a safety hazard. There are no warning lights, and the dealership is unable to reproduce the issue.
NHTSA complaint 11755426Driver seat moves/repositions on its own after starting vehicle. The seat will move forward, fold you forward into the steering wheel then move far back and reposition to saved setting. Also, while in reverse, the seat will move back all the way and pull you away from the brake/accelerator pedals. This is a safety issue especially while the vehicle is not in park or is in motion. This vehicle has been to a dealer for repair no less than 6 times for this issue. It is an intermittent issue and the dealer has only witnessed it once. Since the vehicle has not issued a "code" they will not attempt to fix the safety issue. Hyundai Corp. so far has been unresponsive.
NHTSA complaint 11754988My 2024 Hyundai Palisade windshield cracked without any impact. It didnt break but we noticed the crack by chance and were alarmed to see a 10'' crack while there was no audible sound of any impact from any flying debris. There were no warning lamps, messages or there symptoms prior or post the crack. The cracked windshield hasn't been inspected by manufacturer, dealer.
NHTSA complaint 11754315ALTERNATOR FAILURE: My family and I were moving to [XXX] from [XXX]. A few hours into the drive, the vehicle battery light came on. It was intermittent though. It would be on for a little while 10-15 mins and then shut off and then repeat this process. I stopped at an Autozone and they tested the battery and it was showing a charge of 7%. I could not afford to get stranded somewhere so I went ahead and had the battery replaced, even though I suspected the alternator was going bad. We continued on the trip, but the battery light continued to turn on and off. The vehicle ultimately began losing power about 2 hours after replacing the battery, causing all the warning lights on the dash to turn on, the main center console display lost power and then I lost power steering. All of this happened while I was on the interstate, putting myself and my family in serious danger. I was able to pull the car off an off ramp and park it safely. I called a tow service to take it to the nearest Hyundai. The dealership verified the alternator was bad, but later found that the tensioner assembly had also failed and would have caused serious damage if they had not caught it. The vehicle has since been repaired under warranty, but I researched and found this is a common failed item. The vehicle only has 33,253 miles on it, and is barely 2 years old. Alternators should not fail like that. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
NHTSA complaint 11752430The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Palisade. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V607000 (Seat Belts). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, and it was confirmed that parts were on back order. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact called another local dealer, and it was confirmed that parts were not yet available, and the contact was advised of the recall process. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure.
NHTSA complaint 11752121I have been trying to get the seat belt buckle recall fixed by Hyundai for many months. The dealership, Metrowest Hyundai claims that they don't have the parts to fix this. So I contacted Hyundai Corporate office and filed several complaints there. They claim that the dealership should be able to get the parts. Meanwhile, I have been in limbo. I am very serious about vehicle safety issues and have always handled recalls immediately. This is very concerning to me and I would like to have this safety issue fixed immediately. Thank you for your kind assistance in this matter.
NHTSA complaint 11752074Unexpected shaking and longer stopping distances / unable to properly apply my brakes when I try to break over bumpy surfaces.
NHTSA complaint 11750282Technical service bulletins and other notices the manufacturer sent to dealers. A bulletin is not a recall.
