Rear camera is not functioning. It does not pop up on the screen and says camera system fault, contact dealership.
NHTSA complaint 11746334The contact owns a 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The contact stated the the windshield was leaking from the top center When in reverse the image the back over prevention would display a blurred and distorted image. When used at night only lights are able to been seen in the image displayed. The failures had became worse as time continued. The dealer was contacted and it was confirmed there were no recalls attached to the VIN. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issues. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.
NHTSA complaint 11739461Back up camera started getting a fog on it and stopped working. I believe water has seeped into the back up camera. My VIN is not included in recall list and dealerships offer no help. I would have to cover complete cost. This is a safety issue and should be covered
NHTSA complaint 11737033Significant safety defect in 2018 Range Rover Evoque Convertible regarding water ingress, documented in JLR Technical Bulletin LTB01227NAS1. Design flaws in the A-pillar and rear drainage channels allowed water to flood the interior, saturating the primary electrical wiring harness and destroying electronic modules, including the convertible top lift motor. Despite attempted repairs, the vehicle has a "parasitic battery drain," indicating permanent moisture-induced damage the dealer cannot resolve after 60+ days. SAFETY RISK: Saturated chassis-level wiring creates an imminent risk of short circuits and electrical fire. Since the flooding, the vehicle has displayed random warning lights (ABS, Traction, Transmission), signaling system instability. The battery's inability to hold a charge suggests constant, unintended electrical flow through compromised circuits. This poses a severe risk of sudden component failure, loss of vehicle control, or electrical fire while in motion or parked. CONFIRMATION: Confirmed by Land Rover South Orlando (Dealer #40578). Technicians verified drainage failure caused the flooding. The vehicle has been in their possession since Dec 2024. The dealer confirmed that even after replacing modules, the vehicle is non-functional due to an unresolved parasitic draw. SYMPTOMS: Sudden loss of audio/top operation, standing water in footwells, random safety warning lamps, and rapid battery depletion.
NHTSA complaint 11715570On 12/19/2025 camera view was foggy, it did clear up after a few days. On 01/08/2026 camera system fault turned on and will not clear. There is no back up camera and is not on recall
NHTSA complaint 11710112The problem is the backup camera no longer works. I have trouble seeing when backing up and have almost hit a few persons/things. I found an article online about a recall for our car. the issue is the cars VIN is not listed in the recall batch and was told that by Land Rover Range Rover Customer Service. They asked that I fill out a safety form to get my VIN number into the recall batch.
NHTSA complaint 11709167purchased a 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque from Car Choice in Carrollton, Texas in October 2025. Shortly after purchase, I discovered the vehicle was sold in an unsafe and non-roadworthy condition. The vehicle had NO rear brake pads present at the time of sale, creating an immediate and serious safety hazard. In addition, the wheels cannot be removed due to a missing wheel lock key, preventing proper servicing of the braking system. Additional defects include a coolant system leak, windshield washer fluid leak, and an inoperative sunroof. The dealership informed me the vehicle only passed an emissions inspection and did not undergo a safety inspection. These safety-related defects were not disclosed prior to sale. Had I known the vehicle lacked rear brake pads, I would not have purchased it. After reviewing Better Business Bureau (BBB) records, I observed the dealership has a history of consumer complaints involving the sale of vehicles with undisclosed defects and safety issues, suggesting this may be a pattern rather than an isolated incident. I have filed formal complaints with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles and the Texas Attorney General. Despite notifying dealership management, the dealer has denied responsibility and failed to resolve the matter.
NHTSA complaint 11708490Windshield leaked in the middle of the windshield
NHTSA complaint 11681764Backup camera is blurry and difficult to use
NHTSA complaint 11681763CAMERA COMPLETE FAILURE
NHTSA complaint 11667476The front windshield began leaking into the cabin interior. A windshield replacement has been performed. I paid for the replacement in full. Receipts provided to Land Rover. The auto glass specialist that performed the work performed the replacement of many windshields ( same make, model, year) for the local LR dealer. Safety concerns existed due to the fogging of the windshield interior and the possible water damage to electrical control components. The problem has been documented by a Land Rover authorized auto glass specialist. The windshield replacement was performed by an authorized Land Rover vendor which provided a statement of cause of failure being contaminated glass and primer failure. The cause / nature of the failure is the same as many other vehicles of the same make , mode and year. Also a Class action lawsuit exists for the same problem. The windshield leak presented the symptoms of water intrusion to the interior, resulting in a fogging of the windshield and restricted frontal visibility. Upon contacting the local Land Rover dealer for a resolution to the safety problem, they denied providing help due to the VIN number being out of the posted range and suggested that I contact my insurance company. I felt compelled for safety reasons to seek replacement of the leaking windshield as soon as possible.
NHTSA complaint 11665407When traveling on [XXX] in New York, at 78 mph, my 2018 Range Rover Evoque experienced an electronic power steering rack failure I had just picked up my neighbors from the airport and were on the way home. When traveling on a smooth, straight highway, the audible notification alerted and a message on the dash appeared stating "power steering reduced". When just trying to change lanes on the straight highway I would feel the strong resistance. When exiting the Interstate my neighbor sitting in the passenger seat even helped me with turning the wheel on the exit ramp. We manage to make it back to my driveway. My wife normally drives this vehicle and if it was her driving at the time of the failure in our more rural area, there is no doubt she would not have been able to steer and would have crashed with a high possibility of personal injury. There is no way she would have had the strength to control the vehicle. The possibility of injury or death is high. If that had happened legal action would have been taken. I had the vehicle towed 90 miles to the JLR dealership and they eventually completed the fix by replacing the electronic power steering rack at a cost of over $6k. There was much discussion with the dealership about the failure and the kept saying nothing could be done. I chose to pay for the repair only because I wasn't going to continue making monthly payments for a vehicle i couldn't use, or even move. There is a recall in regards to steering rack bolts. However my vehicles VIN is just shy of meeting the require range. Cost of tow, fix, and travel to pick it up after the repair is close to $7k. The large amount of added debt is a huge inconvenience for a repair that should be covered by a major part that was defective. I have attached the dealer repair estimate, the dealer repairs made, and the text communication with the dealership in regards to the steering rack failure. NHTSA complaint 11662705The contact owns a 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The contact stated that upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact became aware that there was water inside the rearview camera, causing the camera to become inoperable and fail to display images. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V023000 (BACK OVER PREVENTION). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 54,000.
NHTSA complaint 11639149Several time While driving on the interstate my vehicle loses power and low coolant light came on then went off. Light constantly does that even though there is plenty of coolant in the tank. One day [XXX} when trying to pick up speed, I was going 60 and my car went completely limp then picked back up causing me to panic as I had truckers on the highway as I was trying to merge. I pulled over to the side of the interstate hit my emergency flashers, turned the car off and started again to continue on my trip when I started driving again I had my car start overheating and was slowing down not able to get over something popped and smoke started coming out from under the hood a belt had busted causing fluids to go everywhere. Had my car towed to dealership in Hilton head island where they replaced my belt and battery said everything was fine and good to go. Car continues to have same problem and can’t get dealership to fix it as appointments are 2 months out. Took it to a mechanic who said I clearly have slash marks and burns on hoses and one of the water lines that is aluminum or metal had a whole that has turned into a bigger one which should have been caught when belt busted. Range Rover said they inspected my car but upon looking at the receipt I’m showing no driving inspection done only a visual which things were missed INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6

NHTSA complaint 11561302Noticed a random crack appear on passenger front fender near head lamp. This appeared overnight while car was parked inside garage. Don’t know if the crack will grow and if so, how fast it will grow causing safety hazard with a potentially serious fender damage while driving on the highway. Aware of technical bulletin for this problem LTB00738NAS4 Land Rover said I have to pay for new bumper referenced in bulletin.
NHTSA complaint 11557676While driving, the vehicle will randomly shut off in traffic. I will usually hear 3 "beeps" right before it happens. The vehicle shuts down and goes into Park automatically. It has to be restarted and placed back into Drive. The display will read "Select Gear to Maneuver" and the home screen will read "Special Programs Off" with a lengthy definition. Vehicle was inspected and diagnostics performed by Land Rover dealer in Indianapolis. Technicians did not find any stored codes, warnings, or any indication of what would cause the defect. Since the inspection in late July, the vehicle has shut down 3 times. 8/21/23 & twice on 9/20/23.
NHTSA complaint 11545776The bumper is cracked on both sides
NHTSA complaint 11536385When I reverse in cold outside temperatures there is a very loud squealing noise. When turning wheel slowly left or right there is a loud grinding noise that gets louder when pressing the gas. When I turn the heater on over 2 notches a loud buzzing whistling sound gets louder the higher I turn the heater on. I have taken it to Land Rover and they tell me they couldn’t find anything wrong but there is definitely something wrong.
NHTSA complaint 11488887Technical service bulletins and other notices the manufacturer sent to dealers. A bulletin is not a recall; the 60 most recent are listed.
