The contact owns a 2017 Lexus GX. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the center console repeatedly restarted and displayed a blank screen. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed, but no failure was found. Additionally, while driving at 10 MPH, the vehicle experienced a total loss of motive power. No warning lights illuminated. After multiple attempts, the vehicle was restarted and driven normally. The dealer was not notified of the power loss failure, and the vehicle was not further diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 92,000.
NHTSA complaint 11760400The issue started with the engine stalling while I’m driving, and one day the car failed to start. I towed it to the dealership who said there is nothing wrong with the fuel pump and advised me to replace the battery. I replaced the battery and drove it for a couple more months, while the engine continued to stall from time to time and eventually failed to start again yesterday. It’s very apparent that the issue is with the fuel pump, and there is a recall for the fuel pump for the 2015, 2016, 2019, and 2020 models of the Lexus GX460, and my car is the 2017 model. I believe the recall should have been issued for all the models from 2015 to 2020.
NHTSA complaint 11741070Navigation/Screen is black, can’t control heat/AC/defrost or see audio/nav, any safety concerns (fogging, distractions, etc.). Tire sensor on, due to sensor failure. Caused me to pull off the road. No way of actually being notified of a tire pressure safety issue.
NHTSA complaint 11702026The paint on the roof of this white Lexus is peeling and cracking. I took it to Lexus and they said since it was 5K miles out of warranty, they would not repair this manufacturers defect
